Abstract

This article explores character valuesin the local wisdom of Sundanese culture and the “Bandung Masagi” policy as teaching materials in an integrated model of PAI learning in tertiary institutions to build students’ national character. This study chose a qualitative approach with an exploratory study design. The study’s results found that the values’ meaningin local wisdom is closely related to national character. The four values in Sundanese philosophy (silih asah, silih asih, silih asuh, and silih wawangi) are closely related to interpersonal relations (moral character), while the valuesin “Bandung Masagi” (love religion, protect culture, defend the country, and love the environment) closely related to self-mastery (performance character). The entire value of this local wisdom is an indicator of national character, which is very much needed. Through an integrative model, these local wisdom valuescan become teaching materials in PAI learning in tertiary institutions through the internalization stage, namely the provision of reliable information, so that students are confident in this information and become an attitude and displayed in the form of the character of the national love.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and explore the meekness approach in character building in early childhood based on the perspective of Muslim hadith number 2935. This hadith emphasizes the importance of gentleness in social interactions and confirms that Allah SWT loves gentleness and provides special rewards for people who are gentle. Therefore, this study examines the meek approach as an alternative in character building in early childhood. The method used in this research is a literature study that involves the collection and analysis of various relevant literature sources, which include books, hadith books, journals and scientific articles that refer to the same topic. The results show that the gentle approach is very effective in shaping character in early childhood. Principles such as empathy, positive communication, tolerance, compassion and care are also contained in the character building. Through the role of parents and teachers, character in early childhood can be formed by applying a gentle approach as taught in Muslim hadith number 2935 which has a positive impact on the formation of children's character. Furthermore, this gentle approach makes children able to understand the surrounding environment and can manage themselves not to be rude, so that social relationships are created in harmony and affection.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in shaping the moral character of students at SDN 038 Kiaracondong. Moral education at the elementary school level is crucial for developing students' character from an early age. PAI teachers play a strategic role in instilling moral values through methods such as exemplary behavior, habituation, story-based teaching, and reward and punishment approaches. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation to gain an in-depth understanding of the process of shaping students' morals. The results show that PAI teachers consistently apply the method of exemplary behavior, where the teachers' actions serve as a direct example for the students. Habituation of religious activities such as communal prayers and regular recitations effectively instills positive values in the students' lives. Story-based teaching and reward and punishment approaches are also effective in motivating students to behave well. Support from the school environment and collaboration with parents further strengthens the formation of students' morals. However, challenges such as the influence of social media and a lack of parental involvement in moral education still pose obstacles. The study concludes that the efforts of PAI teachers at SDN 038 Kiaracondong in shaping students' moral character have been effective, but collaboration between schools, families, and the community needs to be continuously improved.

Abstract

AbstractIn the last five years, the project-based learning (PjBL) model has colored the treasury of learning practices in schools and universities. This article discusses the definition, underlying theory, and elements of the PjBL model and its implications for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. A qualitative approach with a library method was chosen as the design, so that references in the form of books, journal articles, and websites that display information about PjBL, PAI, and the relationship between the two are used to be analyzed through the stages of abstraction, interpretation, and conclusion. Based on conceptual research, this article concludes that project-based learning is a learning process that is expanded with investigations and challenges to stimulate the growth and mastery of 21st century skills in students' real lives, which is based on constructivist, social constructivist, experiential, independent, and discovery-based learning theories. In an effort to maximize the performance of project-based learning, model elements such as syntax, reaction principles, social and support systems must be carried out strictly and optimally. An example of a project-based learning design in PAI learning in schools is included in this article as a development of conceptual implications.
