Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to explain the procedure for developing Legendary Comic Media (KODA) to Improve Story Reading Skills for Class III Students at SDN 4 Dawungsari, Garut Regency and to determine the quality of learning media based on the validity and practicality of the media. This study uses a type of development research using a development model or Research and Development (R&D). The population in this study were all students of class III SDN 4 Dawungsari, totaling 21 people. The assessment was carried out by material experts, media experts, Indonesian language teachers, and responses by Class III students at SDN 4 Dawungsari. The results showed that the media development process had been carried out through the stages of analysis, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the questionnaire analysis from media experts before the revision got an average score of 4.1 included in the good category, then the media validation stage after the revision got an average score of 4.6 into the good category. Meanwhile, the material experts got an average score of 3.9 before the revision was in the fairly good category, and after being revised to 4.5 it was included in the good category. . Keywords: Legend comic media, reading, story Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menjelaskan prosedur Pengembangan Media Komik Legenda (KODA) untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Membaca Cerita Siswa Kelas III SDN 4 Dawungsari Kabupaten Garut dan untuk mengetahui kualitas smedia pembelajaran berdasarkan kevalidan dan kepraktisan media. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas III SDN 4 Dawungsari yang berjumlah 21 orang. Penilaian dilakukan oleh ahli materi, ahli media, guru Bahasa Indonesia, dan tanggapan oleh siswa Kelas III SDN 4 Dawungsari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pengembangan media telah dilakukan melalui tahapan analisis, perencanaan, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Adapaun hasil analisis angket dari ahli media sebelum revisi mendapatkan skor rata-rata 4,1 termasuk dalam kategori baik, lalu tahap validasi media sesudah revisi mendapatkan skor rata-rata 4,6 masuk kedalam kategori baik. Sedangkan dari ahli materi mendapatkan skor rata-rata 3,9 sebelum revisi dalam kategori cukup baik, dan setelah direvisi menjadi 4,5 termasuk kategori baik Berdasarkan pernyataan diatas dapat disimpulkan bahwa kevalidan media dan materi termasuk dalam kategori valid sedangkan kepraktisan media termasuk dalamkkategori sangat praktis. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media ajar yaitu pop-up book digital pada materi siklus air kelas V sekolah dasar. Berdasarkan hasil observasi menunjukan fenomena bahwa siswa cepat merasa bosan dan tidak tertarik pada materi yang disampaikan, dampak lain dari fenomena ini hasil evaluasi belajar siswa berada di bawah KKM yaitu dbawah angka 74. Penelitian ini membahas prosedur produksi media yang meliputi validasi ahli media, ahli materi dan ahli soal yang akan diujicobakan kepada responden berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan sehingga diperoleh hasil uji kelayakan dan efektivitas dari media  pop-up book digital pada materi siklus air kelas V sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini  merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan atau RD (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan desain ADDIE (analysist, desain, development, implementation and evaluation). Penelitian dilakukan dibeberapa titik sekolah diantaranya SDN Singkup, SD Negeri Biru dan SDN 2 Sukamaju dengan pengimplementasian yaitu SDN Singkup sebagai uji kelompok kecil, SD Negeri Biru sebagai uji kelompok besar dan SDN 2 Sukamaju sebagai uji lapangan utama. Teknik penelitian dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Proseedur penelitian meliputi proses analisis proses pembelajaran, media ajar, media sejenis kemudian mendesain format isi daripada media yang akan diujicobakan, setelah mendesai lalu mengembangkan atau memproduksi media kemudian diimplementasikan dengan mengujicobakannya kepada responden yaitu siswa SD dan mengevaluasi kekurangan serta kelebihan daripada media sehingga bisa dilakukan perbaikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa media pop-up book digital efektif sebagai media pembelajaran pendukung dalam materi siklus air hal ini berdasarkan hasil uji efektivitas perbedaan nilai pretest dan posttest pada materi siklus air dimana posttest lebih signifikan karena media memuat elemen-elemen yang menarik dan memuat konsep materi dengan konkret sehingga bisa menarik perhatian siswa. Hasil validasi ahli media mendapat skor 3,5 dengan klasifikasi sangat baik dan pernyataan layak, kemudian validasi ahli materi mendapat skor 3,5 dengan klasifikasi kategori sangat baik dan pernyataan layak dan validasi soal mendapat skor 93% dengan kategori sangat valid dan pernyataan layak. Adapun perolehan data dari uji kelompok kecil mendapatkan 3,38 dengan kategori sangat baik kemudian kelompok besar 3,24 dengan kategori baik dan uji lapangan utama mendapatkan skor 79% dengan kategori efektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan penulisan ejaan pada karangan teks deskripsi siswa kelas V SDN II Benda. Berdasarkan data nilai siswa kelas V dan wawancara dengan guru Bahasa Indonesia kelas V SDN II Benda terdapat sebuah permasalahan yaitu siswa masih kesulitan dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan teks deskripsi. Selain itu, siswa masih banyak melakukan kesalahan dalam penulisan sebuah teks karangan deskripsi terutama kesalahan dalam penulisan ejaan yang sesuai dengan kaidah Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia yang Disempurnakan (EYD) yaitu dalam pemakaian huruf, penulisan kata, dan penggunaan tanda baca. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Melalui metode deskriptif, akan mengungkapkan kesalahan-kesalahan penggunaan ejaan pada karangan teks deskripsi siswa meliputi pemakaian huruf, penulisan kata, dan penggunaan tanda baca. Tempat penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN II Benda Kota Tasikmalaya. Subjek penelitian diambil 16 peserta didik kelas V SDN II Benda. Waktu penelitian dilaksanakan mulai Oktober 2024 sampai dengan September 2025. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah wawancara, teknik pencatatan, dokumentasi, dan teknik kepustakaan. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti dan karangan teks deskripsi siswa. Data dikumpulkan dari hasil karangan teks deskripsi yang dibuat oleh subjek penelitian. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini meliputi reduksi data (data reduction), penyajian data (data display) dan penarikan kesimpulan (conlclusion drawing/verification). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas V SDN II Benda melakukan 269 kesalahan ejaan dalam karangan teks deskripsi, dengan rincian kesalahan penggunaan huruf 160 kesalahan (59,48%), penulisan kata 69 kesalahan (25,65%), dan penggunaan tanda baca 40 kesalahan (14,87%). Kesalahan penggunaan huruf kapital menjadi yang paling dominan. Faktor penyebab kesalahan meliputi kurangnya pemahaman EYD, keterbatasan waktu pembelajaran, kurangnya ketelitian siswa, minimnya media pembelajaran interaktif, kurangnya umpan balik spesifik dari guru, dan faktor psikologis siswa.

Abstract

General Background: Aggressive behavior among elementary students disrupts learning activities and hinders social-emotional development in classroom environments. Specific Background: This condition was found in a third-grade student at SDN 1 Puspahiang, exhibiting physical, verbal, emotional, and hostile aggression, requiring contextual interventions aligned with Sundanese cultural values. Knowledge Gap: Although character education and cultural-based learning are theoretically recommended, practical implementation in schools remains limited, particularly programs integrating Kaulinan Barudak Sunda for behavioral regulation. Aims: This study aims to identify forms of aggression demonstrated by the student and to apply the Kabar Sunda (Kaulinan Barudak Sunda) Program as a strategy for reducing aggressive behavior. Results: A qualitative case study was conducted using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation over five traditional game sessions. Findings indicate aggressive behavior across dimensions conceptualized by Buss and Perry, triggered by internal emotional frustration and external disharmonious interactions, with aggression reduction reaching approximately 70–80% and improvement in rule compliance, participation, cooperation, and social interaction. Novelty: This research introduces a culturally grounded intervention through traditional Sundanese games as a contextual, engaging mechanism for behavioral regulation in early education settings. Implications: The outcomes offer a practical alternative for schools to employ local cultural assets as sustainable character-building strategies, reinforcing values of silih asih, silih asah, and silih asuh while fostering a conducive learning climate. Highlights Aggressive behavior decreased progressively across five sessions of traditional Sundanese games. Cultural values integration supported improvements in compliance, cooperation, and interaction. Localized educational programs created a meaningful alternative for character development. Abstract

This study maps the phonological abilities of early childhood in PAUD Tasikmalaya, focusing on language sound acquisition and use. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through classroom observations and interviews with 4- to 6-year-old students in various PAUD institutions, including state-owned, private, Islamic, and Christian schools across Tasikmalaya. The study involved 315 children from RA Baiturrahman, TK Negeri Pembina, TK Cangkurileung, TK IT Ihya As-Sunah, and Joykids.Speech data were analyzed through reduction, display, and verification, ensuring validity through expert judgment. Findings reveal that vowel mastery progresses with age. At four years old, children fully master initial and final position vowels [a, i, u, e, o] but struggle with middle-position vowels. By five years, they improve in middle-position vowels but still face challenges. Six-year-olds fully master vowels except for some middle-position difficulties.Consonant acquisition also develops over time. Four-year-olds master consonants [c, g, j, f, w, y]. Five-year-olds expand to [c, g, j, k, t, f, b, w, y]. Six-year-olds achieve broader mastery, including [c, g, j, d, k, t, f, s, x, z, b, p, w, m, n, y]. The study highlights a structured progression in phonological development among early childhood learners.

Abstract

Siswa sekolah dasar sering mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep IPA yang bersifat abstrak, khususnya materi panas, akibat penggunaan metode pembelajaran konvensional yang kurang menarik. Kondisi ini berdampak pada rendahnya minat belajar dan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran video animasi Ujang Entis yang dipadukan dengan eksperimen sederhana terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas V pada materi panas di SDN Sirnasari. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi-eksperimen dan desain pretest–posttest control group. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 30 siswa kelas V yang dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen dan Kelompok Kontrol, masing-masing sebanyak 15 siswa. Kelompok eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran menggunakan video animasi dan eksperimen sederhana, sedangkan Kelompok Kontrol menggunakan metode ceramah. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes pretest dan posttest, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji-t sampel independen dengan bantuan SPSS 27. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai pretest siswa sebesar 54,07 dan rata-rata nilai posttest sebesar 80,67 pada kelompok eksperimen. Hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,001 (p 0,05), yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai pretest dan nilai posttest, dengan nilai posttest lebih besar dibandingkan nilai pretest. Dengan demikian, penggunaan media video animasi Ujang Entis yang dipadukan dengan eksperimen sederhana memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa sekolah dasar pada materi panas.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the sniper game on throwing accuracy in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning among fifth-grade elementary school students. The sniper game is a target-based, play-oriented activity designed to enhance manipulative motor skills, particularly throwing accuracy. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group model was employed. The participants were 30 fifth-grade students of SDN 3 Sukamenak, divided into an experimental group (n = 15) and a control group (n = 15). The experimental group received PJOK instruction using the Sniper game, while the control group received conventional instruction. Data were collected through a throwing accuracy test and analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired sample t-tests at a significance level of 0.05.The results showed improvements in both groups; however, the experimental group demonstrated a greater increase in mean scores (Δ = 1.267) compared to the control group (Δ = 0.667). Statistical analysis indicated a significant effect of the sniper game on throwing accuracy (p < 0.05). These findings demonstrate that the sniper game can be effectively implemented as a game-based instructional strategy to improve throwing accuracy in elementary school PJOK learning. The scope of this study was limited to throwing accuracy; future research may explore its broader impact on other manipulative motor skills and across different educational contexts.

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the effect of traditional game-based physical activity on cardiovascular endurance in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning among fifth-grade elementary school students. The activities were implemented through traditional games (boy-boyan, gobak sodor, lari balok, and ucing-ucingan) designed to involve dynamic movements in a structured and progressive manner. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 52 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Sambongpari, divided into an experimental group (n = 26) and a control group (n = 26). The experimental group received traditional game-based instruction, while the control group followed conventional PJOK instruction. Data were collected using the Foster Test to measure cardiovascular endurance and were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Mann–Whitney U test at a significance level of 0.05. The results indicated differences between pretest and posttest scores in both groups, with a greater mean difference in the experimental group improved from 4.23 to 9.15, whereas the control group increased from 4.38 to 5.73. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between the posttest results of the two groups (Z = -3.777; p < 0.001). These findings indicate that traditional game-based activities can serve as an effective pedagogical strategy in physical education to improve students’ cardiovascular fitness.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of short-interval-based physical activity on students’ agility in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) at the elementary school level. Short-interval training is a structured exercise model performed at moderate to high intensity with brief recovery periods, designed to develop physical fitness components, particularly agility. The research employed a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design. The participants were 54 students from SDN Sambongpari, divided into an experimental group (n = 27) and a control group (n = 27). The intervention was conducted over six instructional sessions. The experimental group received PJOK instruction integrated with short-interval training, while the control group followed conventional Intruction. Agility was measured using the standardized T-Test and analyzed through descriptive statistics, the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, and the Mann–Whitney U test at a 0.05 significance level. The results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group (p = 0.014 < 0.05), whereas the control group showed no significant change (p = 0.317 > 0.05). The Mann–Whitney U test also revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p = 0.013), with Z = −2.492 and an effect size of r = 0.34, indicating a moderate between-group effect. The experimental group demonstrated an average improvement of 7.89% in agility performance, while the control group showed a decline of 1.30%. These findings indicate that short-interval training delivered over six sessions is effective for developing agility in elementary students. PJOK teachers can implement short-interval activities to promote practical learning outcomes in school settings.

Abstract

Mastering English at an early stage is considered crucial in equipping younger generations to face international competition. Among the four essential language abilities, speaking is regarded as the most fundamental and therefore requires consistent and structured development. Nevertheless, the oral proficiency of Indonesian elementary school learners remains relatively low, creating a demand for more engaging and innovative teaching strategies. This research was conducted to design interactive learning resources in the form of a digital comic, intended to support fifth-grade pupils in studying English as a second language (ESL). The study adopted a research and development (R&D) framework to construct instructional media that are tangible, visually oriented, and aligned with the developmental characteristics of children in their early learning stages. The validation process yielded a mean score of 3.7 out of 4, which fell into the “very good” category. Moreover, effectiveness for the concern and the result was investigated by comparing pre-test and post-test differences, yielding an N-Gain score of 0.87, which is classified as “high.” These results prove that the interactive digital comic not only is user-friendly but is also effective in developing students' speaking skills. The implications extend beyond classroom practice, where teachers can utilize the media as an engaging instructional resource. Additionally, curriculum developers may consider the findings as input in designing syllabi that integrate interactive media, while educational media producers can adopt the principles demonstrated in this study to create child-friendly learning content that supports language acquisition.
