Abstract

This study aims to explore the process of developing entrepreneurial soft skills as a strategy to increase the economic independence of adult students at the Community Learning Center (CLC) Kinabalu, Malaysia. The background of this study is limited access to formal education, low non-technical skills, and minimal entrepreneurial awareness among Package C students from families of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). The study used a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation during training, and document analysis. The intervention process was carried out online for four days with reference to the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach and andragogy principles. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis techniques to identify patterns of strengthening soft skills competencies including effective communication, adaptive leadership, creative problem solving, self- and time management, adaptation to change, emotional intelligence, results orientation, and networking. The results of the study revealed three main themes: (1) internalization of entrepreneurial values through experiential learning, (2) transformation of self-confidence into courage to start small businesses based on local resources, and (3) utilization of digital media as a means of developing business networks. This study concludes that strengthening local asset-based soft skills can shape entrepreneurial readiness in adult migrant communities, while also being a model that can be replicated in the context of non-formal education in border areas or other vulnerable communities.

Abstract

Learning motivation is a crucial element in the success of education, especially in the context of non-formal education such as the equivalency program Paket A. This study aims to explore the contribution of tutors in enhancing the learning enthusiasm of learners at PKBM Mekar Asri Surabaya. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation involving the head of PKBM, two tutors, parents, and three learners. The findings reveal that tutors function not only as instructors but also as facilitators, motivators, and mentors who can create a pleasant, flexible, and contextual learning environment. Tutors apply a personal approach, provide recognition, and utilize both face-to-face and independent learning methods tailored to the learners’ needs. Furthermore, the role of parents is also proven to be important in shaping learners’ external motivation through moral support and a supportive learning environment. This study emphasizes that collaboration between tutors and parents is essential in creating an effective and sustainable learning process that can enhance learners’ motivation and improve their quality of life through non-formal education.

Abstract

This community service aims to empower Package C students, particularly adult women at Anggrek Bulan Community Learning Center (CLC), Banyuwangi Regency, through entrepreneurship development training. The training focuses on business financial management, understanding market and business opportunities, and building business networks to support the development of agricultural businesses, specifically in cultivating golden dragon fruit. The implementation method involves several stages: first, socialization and discussion with the chairman of PKBM; second, identifying business development needs through the manager; third, training to enhance knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship; and fourth, mentoring, which is systematically conducted to assess the application of the training. The results of this initiative empower women by improving their entrepreneurial skills and addressing challenges they face in developing businesses. This training not only supports the personal growth of the participants but also strengthens local entrepreneurship, with a focus on agricultural business development. The research highlights the importance of continuous mentoring and skill enhancement for adults to overcome barriers to business success. Future recommendations suggest expanding similar programs to other regions to further empower marginalized communities and foster sustainable agricultural entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This research examines the relationship between the use of audiovisual learning media and the learning interest of Package C students at CLC Permata Bangsa Surabaya. Using the method in this research, namely quantitative correlational, involving 31 students, the results show a positive and significant relationship between two variables, data was collected through questionnaires and statistically analyzed. The results show a correlation coefficient of 0.568, greater than the table's critical value (DF = 29) of 0.355. The significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05) supports the alternative hypothesis that audiovisual media has a relationship in increasing students' interest in learning, as well as helping the development of practical skills, especially in learning hydroponic topics. CLC Permata Bangsa plays an important role in the application of this technology in the learning process, which has a positive impact on improving the quality of education and developing students' skills. These findings emphasize the importance of audiovisual media in increasing the effectiveness of learning in non-formal education, especially in increasing students' interest in learning.

Abstract

Perkembangan kognitif anak dapat berkembang secara maksimal apabila pola pengasuhan yang diberikan sesuai dengan karakteristik dan usia anak. Setiap pola pengasuhan orang tua mempunyai hasil yang berbeda-beda terhadap perkembangan kognitif anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pola pengasuhan orang tua dan perkembangan kognitif anak usia 3-4 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah orang tua dari peserta didik dan peserta didik dengan usia 3-4 tahun di Pos PAUD Terpadu Melati I. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pola pengasuhan yang diterapkan oleh orang tua adalah pola pengasuhan permisif. Pola pengasuhan tersebut berdampak pada perkembangan kognitif anak karena orang tua melakukan pembiaran terhadap anak. Anak dengan pola pengasuhan permisif kurang tercapai perkembangan kognitif sesuai dengan tahap usianya. Maka, disarankan untuk para orang tua terlibat dan memberi stimulasi serta kontrol kepada anak sehingga kemampuan kognitif anak bisa berkembang lebih maksimal.

Abstract

Peran merupakan pola tingkah laku tertentu yang memiliki ciri khas tersendiri dari sebuah pekerjaan atau jabatan tertentu. Sedangkan Orang Tua merupakan komponen keluarga yang terdiri dari ayah dan ibu yang diikat oleh sebuah perkawinan yang sah yang membentuk sebuah keluarga. Berdasarkan pengertian tersebut, peran Orang Tua adalah cara-cara yang digunakan Orang Tua dalam menjalankan tugas-tugas mengasuh anak dengan sebaik-baiknya. Peran Orang Tua sangatlah besar terhadap keberhasilan anak dalam belajar, dilihat dari tinggi rendahnya pendidikan, besar kecilnya penghasilan, cukup atau tidak perhatian kepada anak, rukun atau tidak, tenang atau tidak rumahnya, semuanya mempengaruhi hasil belajar anak. Terdapat 6 peran penting Orang Tua, yakni pendidik, guru, motivator, supporter, fasilitator, dan model. Peneliti akan melihat apakah ada peran orang tua serta bagaimana bentuk peran orang tua dalam pendampingan belajar anak usia dini di TK Dharma Wanita Gayungan, apakah sudah sesuai dengan sumber-sumber yang sudah ada atau memiliki perkembangan terbaharu dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif serta metode deskriptif. Hasilnya Orang Tua di TK Dharma Wanita Gayungan telah mencukupi keenam aspek peran Orang Tua dalam pendampingan belajar anak usia dini, tetapi peningkatan juga diperlukan agar peran Orang Tua menjadi lebih optimal kedepannya

Abstract

Pemberdayaan masyarakat merupakan proses pembangunan masyarakat dimana proses tersebut memiliki program yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan individu atau masyarakat untuk memulai proses kegiatan sosial agar dapat memperbaiki situasi dan kondisi dalam meningkatkan kualitas kehidupannya. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan dalam pemberdayaan tersebut yaitu melalui daur ulang sampah menjadi kerajinan tangan yang estetik dan memiliki nilai ekonomi di Kelurahan Gununganyar Tambak Surabaya. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatiff. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan dokumentasi. Teknik wawancara mendalam digunakan untuk memperoleh data kualitatif tentang pengelolaan bank sampah melalui daur ulang. Sedangkan teknik observasi partisipan dan dokumentasi digunakan untuk memperoleh data lain yang mendukung dan melengkapi hasil wawancara. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana pelaksanaan pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui daur ulang sampah dan apa saja faktor pendukung dan faktor penghambat dari pelaksanaan pengelolaan bamk sampah melalui daur ulang kerajinan tangan sebagai upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat Gununganyar. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data disimpulkan bahwa pengelolaan bank sampah dilakukan secara efektif dan efisien seusai dengan fungsi manajemen, yaitu perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi sehingga pelaksaan program pengelolaan berjalan sangat efektif.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the 3D printing studio learning strategy in supporting the Merdeka Belajar program at PKBM Think Indonesia. The Merdeka Belajar program is a government initiative in Indonesia to provide broader and more inclusive learning opportunities to the community, including through innovative approaches such as 3D printing technology. The research approach used in this study is a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression analysis research method. The location of this research is PKBM Think Indonesia in Surabaya. The population in this study consists of participants in the Think Indonesia Activity Center who are taking the 3D Printing class, totaling 67 participants. The research sample was taken using purposive sampling method with the Slovin formula, resulting in a sample of 40 students. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire as a measuring instrument. Before the questionnaire was used for data collection, it was piloted to obtain valid and reliable results. The results of the simple linear regression analysis show that the level of effectiveness of the 3D printing studio learning strategy in supporting the Merdeka Belajar program at PKBM Think Indonesia is 86.6%. The implication of this finding is that the use of 3D printing technology in the context of PKBM Think Indonesia can enhance students' independence in learning, develop their vocational skills, and promote engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
