Abstract

The Qur'an as a comprehensive and universal guide for human life, offers profound answers to various life challenges, including solutions to issues within the learning process. One of the main problems in education is the lack of proper selection of learning strategies. A strategy that is not aligned with the characteristics of the students or the learning objectives can hinder the transfer of knowledge, reduce the effectiveness of learning, and lead to poor student comprehension of the material. This study aims to identify and analyze Surah An-Nahl verse 11, focusing on what learning strategies are taught in this sacred verse and whether they can be applied in modern educational contexts. The data sources include the Qur'an, Tafsir, and relevant previous research. This research uses a qualitative approach with the Tarbawi paradigm to explore and understand the meanings contained in the Qur'an. In data collection, this study applies a literature review method. Once the data is collected, it is analyzed through techniques of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate the existence of implicit learning strategies in Surah An-Nahl verse 11, namely observation, reflection, and inquiry-based learning strategies. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of more effective and relevant Islamic value-based educational methods that meet contemporary educational needs.

Abstract

The concept of tauhid is a fundamental foundation in Islamic teachings that underpins all religious practices and spiritual understanding. In Islamic Religious Education (PAI), the teaching of tauhid is not merely theoretical but is also internalized in students' daily lives. This study highlights the importance of the aspects of rububiyah and uluhiyah in shaping the character of students, where they are invited to understand Allah as the Creator and the only God worthy of worship. Through teachings relevant to real-life situations, students are expected to develop gratitude, responsibility, and noble character. The Qur'an, as the primary source of tauhid education, provides verses that serve as references, such as Surah Al-Ikhlas and Al-Baqarah, emphasizing the oneness of Allah. In developing a tauhid-based PAI curriculum, a holistic approach and effective teaching methods, including the use of technology, are essential. However, challenges in implementing tauhid education, such as a lack of understanding among educators and an unsupportive environment, must be addressed through collaboration with parents and the community. Recommendations for curriculum development are expected to strengthen the integration of tauhid values, enabling students to not only acquire knowledge but also embody good character and responsibility

Abstract

Inclusive education in Islamic Religious Education is an important element in providing equal opportunities for Children with Special Needs. This research analyzes the rights and obligations of Children with Special Needs in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) through the perspective of educational hadiths. With a qualitative approach based on literature study, this research examines the principle of inclusivity reflected in the Prophet's hadiths, including the story of Julaibib. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman method (data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing). The research results show that the value of inclusivity in tarbawi hadith emphasizes equal rights to education for children with special needs, the importance of adaptive learning methods, and the role of teachers and the community in supporting inclusive education. The implications of this research emphasize the need for educator training and a curriculum based on Islamic values that appreciate diversity.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the meaning and relevance of the hadith of Abu Dawud No. 3641 about the virtue of knowledgeable people in facing the challenges of education in the modern era that tends to be pragmatic and materialistic. This study is a qualitative study with the method of library study and tahlīlī analysis. Primary data were obtained from the book of Sunan Abu Dawud, while secondary data came from related books and articles. This study analyzed the sanad and matan of the hadith in depth to ensure its validity. The results of the study show that the sanad of this hadith is muttaṣil (connected) with most of the narrators who are considered thiqa, although there are narrators who are ḍa'īf (weak) so that this hadith is classified as hasan lighairihi and can still be used as an argument. This hadith analogizes the virtue of knowledgeable people like the full moon that illuminates the stars in the sky. The meaning is that knowledgeable people have a broad impact on society compared to worshipers whose benefits are individual. This research contributes to strengthening understanding of the importance of education based on religious values in the midst of modernization, and recommends the integration of religious knowledge and general knowledge to shape the noble morals of students.

Abstract

The inability of the modern education system to respond to various social problems raises new issues regarding the effectiveness of the education system. The rise of educational system approaches that refer to Western traditions, such as the concept of “tabula rasa” initiated by John Locke, actually exacerbates the existing problems, because there is a dichotomy between knowledge science and religion. Thus, education is no longer able to direct each student to the moral values that have been taught by the predecessors. Departing from the dynamics that occur, this research aims to examine the hadith about fitrah as a new formulation in the Islamic education system. Two questions become the initial basis of the study: first, how is human nature in the literacy of the Prophet's hadith; second, what are the implications of the concept of fitrah in the formulation of Islamic education? Through literature-based qualitative methods, the results show that the hadith about fitrah is massively spread with ittishal. The concept of fitrah in the hadith indicates that every human being is born with a natural tendency towards monotheism and stands on good values. In the framework of Islamic education, this concept becomes the epistemological basis that the educational process is a process of maintaining and actualizing fitrah, so that education is not just a transfer of knowledge, but rather forming an integral personality that is in line with divine values. Thus, the implementation of Islamic education needs to emphasize approaches that recognize the sacred potential in children and design curriculum and learning methods that support the development of fitrah holistically.

Abstract

In recent years, various moral issues such as bullying, individualism, and diminished social awareness among students have emerged as critical concerns in education. In response to this, it becomes imperative to examine the concept of akhlāq (moral character) within Islamic education, particularly through the integration of the Prophet’s hadith into the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum. This research posits two central questions: first, what is the meaning of riwāyah Aḥmad No. 8952, and second, how can the values encapsulated in this hadith be effectively implemented to optimize the function of the PAI curriculum? These questions are analyzed using a qualitative-descriptive methodology, employing a literature study approach that involves a comprehensive review, examination, and comparison of various hadiths and Islamic educational texts. The findings suggest that the conceptual emphasis on akhlāq, which underscores its central role as the primary mission of prophethood, should serve as the foundational framework for the PAI curriculum. Furthermore, the research identifies the application of a Deep Learning approach incorporating Mindful, Meaningful, and Joyful Learning strategies as a promising method for internalizing akhlāq values into students’ lives.

Abstract

Background and Objectives: Recent global labour-market shifts have lifted women’s labour-force participation to 54.42 % in Indonesia, compelling Muslim mothers to juggle dual identities as household educators (al-Madrasat al-Ūlā) and paid professionals. This study investigates how urban Javanese Muslim mothers interpret and reconcile these roles, integrating Islamic pedagogy with work–family research. Methods: A phenomenological approach combined 30 semi-structured interviews in three cities with a systematic review of 65 peer-reviewed studies (2010-2024). Inductive thematic coding of transcripts was triangulated with the literature. Main Findings: Role conflict stems mainly from rigid schedules, scarce workplace childcare and entrenched patriarchal norms. Mothers mitigate stress through extended-family help—especially grandmothers—religious coping rituals (dhikr, ṣalāh, majlis ta‘līm) and care-focused micro time-management that privileges “quality spiritual parenting” over duration. The al-Madrasat al-Ūlā ideal persists but is re-imagined as collective moral stewardship shared across family networks. Contribution: The study proposes an “Islamic Coping Matrix” linking context-specific stressors, resources and adaptive behaviours, demonstrating how religious capital compensates for limited institutional support and enriching cross-cultural work–family theory. Conclusion: Harmonising professional and maternal duties is feasible when organisations provide flexible policies and when community institutions—mosques and neighbourhood childcare schemes—augment state provision. Faith-based, culturally attuned interventions can thus sustain Muslim mothers’ dual contributions to household resilience and national productivity.

Abstract

Education is a key element in the development of both individuals and society, in both general and specific contexts. Broadly speaking, education encompasses a lifelong learning process that has a positive impact, while in a narrower sense, it refers to formal educational institutions. The right to education is guaranteed by the Indonesian Law No. 20 of 2003 and is emphasized in the Qur’an, especially in Surah Al-‘Alaq. This study aims to explore the essence of Islamic education in the modern era, based on verses 1-5 of Surah Al-‘Alaq, through the interpretation of Ibn Kathir. A qualitative approach is used in this study, employing library research as the research method. Based on the analysis of Ibn Kathir’s tafsir on Surah Al-‘Alaq, it is found that education and learning are forms of mercy from Allah SWT, teaching humanity things they did not know before. Islamic education plays an important role in shaping the character and morals of individuals according to religious teachings, while integrating general knowledge with religious principles. Ibn Kathir’s tafsir in this Surah highlights the importance of reading, writing, and learning tawhid. Reading in the name of Allah SWT is considered to bring blessings and knowledge, while writing is necessary for preserving and safeguarding knowledge. Tawhid, which is the core of Islamic teachings, plays a crucial role in building awareness and devotion to Allah SWT. The paradigms of Islamic education based on the tafsir of Surah Al-‘Alaq include (1) the holistic education paradigm, (2) the tawhid-based education paradigm, and (3) the sustainable education paradigm. Overall, Islamic education aims to cultivate individuals who are not only intellectually intelligent but also possess high moral and spiritual values.

Abstract

Al-Qur'an education plays an important role in forming character, increasing knowledge and religious skills of children. The aim of this research is to examine the application of the concepts of recitation and qira'ah in Al-Qur'an education as an effort to improve understanding and practice of reading the Al-Qur'an. The problem raised is how Al-Qur'an education can guide children to read fluently, correctly, and understand the meaning contained in it. The method used is a literature study by examining various relevant sources regarding the theory and practice of recitations and qira'ah in Islamic education. The results of this research show that recitations and qira'ah are not just reading skills, but also a means to understand and practice the teachings of the Qur'an in everyday life. Learning that involves both can develop good social behavior, strengthen character, and increase children's closeness to Islamic teachings. In this way, it is hoped that Al-Qur'an education will be able to produce a generation that is not only skilled at reading, but also has noble morals.
