Abstract

ABSTRACT Cardiovascular disease represents a significant global health concern, with Indonesia being a country particularly affected by this condition. Data from the United States indicates that coronary heart disease is the leading cause of mortality, accounting for more than 40% of all deaths. Concurrently, data from Indonesia indicates a yearly escalation in the prevalence of heart disease. According to the most recent data, heart disease is responsible for 19 million deaths per year, making it the second leading cause of mortality after stroke and cancer. There exists a multitude of risk factors for coronary heart disease (CHD), including, but not limited to, obesity and physical inactivity. A surge in obesity rates has been observed in Indonesia. The results of the 2018 Riskesdas study indicated that 33.5% of the Indonesian population exhibited inadequate levels of physical activity. Determine the correlation between BMI, physical activity, and the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) at the Mojolangu Health Center in Malang City. An observational, analytic research design was used with a cross-sectional approach and a rule-of-thumb sampling technique to obtain 50 respondents for the study. Inclusion criteria for this study are respondents who have hypertension and are 40 years old. There is a significant correlation between BMI and CHD risk, as assessed using FRS (p=0.000, r=0.972). There was also a significant correlation between physical activity and CHD risk, with p = 0.000 and r = -0.768. There is a significant relationship between higher BMI and higher CHD risk. Regarding physical activity, the lower the level of activity, the higher the risk of CHD. Keywords: Body Mass Index, Cardiovascular Disease, Physical Activity. Abstract

This community engagement research aims to build collective awareness among young people regarding the dangers of money laundering (TPPU) and terrorism financing (TPPT) through the “Diskusi Kontemporer GEMA APUPPT” program at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Indonesia (UNUSIA). The program is designed as a literacy and advocacy movement that positions students not merely as objects of socialization, but as agents of change. The study employs a participatory action research approach with mixed methods, using pre-test and post-test instruments, participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions. The activities involve cross-stakeholder collaboration, including PPATK, financial institutions, and the academic community. The findings indicate a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and critical attitudes toward the concepts, modes, and impacts of TPPU/TPPT, alongside the growth of legal and ethical awareness grounded in Aswaja values and maqāṣid al-sharīʿah. Students began to demonstrate the ability to identify suspicious transaction patterns in digital spaces, refuse invitations to become money mules, and promote integrity-based financial practices through digital campaigns. This study concludes that the GEMA APUPPT model is effective as a prototype of a campus youth movement for the prevention of TPPU/TPPT and has the potential to be replicated in other higher education institutions as part of a national education program against financial crime.

Abstract

Background: Patients with hemodialysis frequently experience physical limitations that may affect their capacity to accomplish Activities of Daily Living (ADL). This decline in independence increases patients’ dependence on others. Family support plays a crucial role in helping patients maintain independence and refine the quality of their lives during long-term treatment. Objective: This study aimed to determine the association between family support and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) among patients undergoing hemodialysis. Methods: A cross-sectional analytical correlational study was implemented at Muhammadiyah General Hospital. The participants were 50 patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis for at least three months, aged 18-60 years, selected through purposive sampling. Family support was assessed using the Perceived Social Support–Family (PSS-FA) instrument, while independence in activities of daily living (ADL) was measured using the Barthel Index. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize participants characteristics. The relationship between family support and ADL was analyzed using Somers' d test at the 5% significance level. Results: The evidence indicates that most respondents received high levels of family support (86%) and had relatively good levels of independence in performing ADL (68%). Statistical analysis indicated a critical association between family support and ADL among hemodialysis patients (p=0.001; r = 0.61). These findings imply that higher levels of family support contribute to improve patient independence in carrying out daily activities. Conclusion: Family support is significantly associated with the capacity of hemodialysis patients to perform Activities of Daily Living. Strengthening family involvement through family-centered nursing interventios may help improve patient independence and overall well-being during long-term hemodialysis treatment.

Abstract

Learning in modern education tends to emphasize cognitive aspects and the use of technology, while the ethical and value dimensions are often neglected. This creates a gap between the effectiveness of learning and the formation of student character. This study aims to examine ethics and learning media from the perspective of the hadith and their relevance to contemporary education. The method used is qualitative research with a library approach, through an analysis of hadiths related to ethics and learning media, supported by Islamic education literature and modern educational theory. The results show that learning ethics in the hadith include obedience to Allah and the Messenger, an attitude of critical questioning, and respect for differences as the basis for character formation. Meanwhile, learning media from the hadith perspective is flexible and contextual, including the use of audio, visual, and audio-visual media that function to clarify understanding while internalizing values. The novelty of this study lies in the simultaneous integration of ethics and learning media from the hadith perspective and their reinterpretation in the context of digital education. Thus, this study offers an Islamic pedagogical model that is not only methodologically effective but also oriented towards values and character formation.
