Abstract

Penelitian mengenai persentase tutupan substrat pada perairan terumbu karang ini dilakukan di Pulau Lirang Kabupaten Maluku Barat Daya. Penelitian yang dilakukan di perairan Pulau Lirang bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase tutupan substrat di perairan tersebut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan bulan April 2016 pada enam lokasi dengan transek sepanjang 100 meter. Data dihimpun dengan menggunakan metode Point Intersept Transect (PIT) menggunakan peralatan SCUBA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata tutupan karang hidup di Pulau Lirang, Maluku Barat Daya adalah 33,75%, dengan tutupan tertinggi pada stasiun VI (54%). Kematian karang yang mencapai 48% di stasiun V diduga disebabkan oleh persaingan dengan soft coral atau biota bentik lainnya, arus dan sedimentasi. Dominasi karang Acropora, foliose dan massive di perairan Pulau Lirang dapat diartikan masih terjadinya kesetimbangan ekosistem terumbu karang di perairan tersebut, dimana Acropora sebagai indikator percepatan pertumbuhan dan pemulihan, karang foliose menandakan ketahanan akan kerusakan fisik seperti arus dan gelombang dan karang massive sebagai indikator ketahanan perubahan iklim global. Research on the percentage of substrate cover on coral reef waters was conducted in Lirang island, Southwest Maluku Regency. The aim of this research was to determine the percentage of substrate cover in the waters. Data collection was conducted in April 2016, in six locations with 100 m long transect for each location. The data was collected using Point Intercept Transect (PIT) method using SCUBA equipment. The result showed that average live coral cover in Lirang Island waters, Southwest Maluku is 33,75%, with the highest coral cover at Station VI (54%). The exsisting coral mortality at Station V (48%) was assumed because of competition with soft corals or other benthic biota, and sedimentation. The domination of the coral life form Acropora, Foliose, and Massive in Lirang island waters indicated that the ecosystem balance in these area was still maintained. The existence of Acropora life form is an indicator of accelerated growth and recovery, while foliose life form is an indicator of durability and physical damage from current and wave. Lastly, massive coral life form is an indicator of resistance to climate change.

Abstract

Ikan kembung (Rastrelliger spp) merupakan salah satu ikan pelagis yang hidup di perairan bersalinitas tinggi dan suka hidup bergerombol. Semakin meningkatnya permintaan akan ikan membuat semakin tinggi penangkapan ikan yang dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui tingkat kematangan gonad ikan kembung (Rastrelliger spp) dan mengetahui hubungan antara panjang dengan berat, hubungan antara berat dengan fekunditas, dan hubungan antara berat gonad dengan IKG (Indeks Kematangan Gonad) dari ikan kembung (Rastrelliger spp).Sebanyak 80 ekor Ikan Kembung yang didapatkan dari pasar kobong diukur panjang total dan ditimbang beratnya. Kemudian dilakukan pembedahan untuk diamati jenis kelamin dan tingkat kematangan gonadnya. Penelitian ini meliputi: Indeks Kematangan Gonad, Tingkat Kematangan Gonad, fekunditas dan rasio kelamin. Pengamatan tingkat kematangan gonad dilakukan untuk menentukan indeks kematangan gonad (IKG). Tingkat kematangan gonad ikan kembung (Rastrelliger spp) terdiri dari TKG I sampai TKG V. Nilai IKG yang didapatkan untuk ikan jantan berkisar 0,14-6,42% dan betina berkisar 0,64-7,25%, hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa nilai tersebut bervariasi antara ikan jantan dan betina. Hasil penelitian dengan 80 sampel ikan kembung menunjukkan rasio kelaminnya tidak seimbang yaitu 42,5:57,5 dimana angka jantan lebih tinggi. Pertambahan ukuran panjang memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap fekunditas, pertambahan ukuran panjang ikan kembung betina memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap berat, pertambahan ukuran panjang ikan kembung jantan memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap berat. Sedangkan berat ikan betina tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap IKG dan berat ikan jantan memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap IKG Rastrelliger spp is one of the pelagic fish that live in high salinity and like to live in groups. The increasing demand for this fish, makes the catching activity of this fish grow higher. The aim of the research is to know the Gonad Maturation Stage (GMS) of  Rastrelliger spp to know the relationship between length and weight, the relationship between weight with fecundity, and relationship between gonad weight and Gonad Maturation Index from Rastrelliger spp. 80 samples of Rastrelliger spp that were obtained from the market were measured, the measurement included were length and weight. And then a surgery was performed to examine their sex and their Gonad Maturation Stage. In the end to obtain the results of its fecundity, its gonad were taken and the weight was measured. GMI. Gonad maturation stage of Rastrelliger spp fish was I-V. the range of GMI for male fish was 0,14-6,42% and female 0,64-7,25%. That were indicated a various values of GMI male and female fishes. The result of research with 80 samples of Rastrelliger spp showed unbalanced sex ratio 42,5: 57,5 where male number was higher. The addition of length measure gave a real effect to fecundity, the increase of length of female gave a significant effect on the weight, the increase of length of  male gives a real effect on the weight. While the weight of female fish did not give a real effect on GMI and the weight of male fish gives a real effect on GMI

Abstract

Plankton merupakan sekelompok organisme yang menyusun rantai dasar ekosistem perairan. Plankton dapat dibagi menjadi fitoplankton dan zooplankton. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui komposisi, kelimpahan, indeks keanekaragaman, indeks keseragaman, indeks dominansi fitoplankton dan zooplankton di Perairan Kayome, Kepulauan Togean, Sulawesi Tengah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif eksploratif. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada tanggal 5-7 Oktober 2013 pada 5 stasiun yang berbeda yang merupakan kawasan penangkapan ikan karang. Sampel fitoplankton diambil dengan cara pasif dengan menyaring 100 L air laut. Sampel zooplankton diambil menggunakan metode aktif dengan menyaring air laut secara horisontal dan di tarik perahu 100 m. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan fitoplankton ditemukan 2 kelas, yaitu Bacillariophyceae (6 genera) dan Dinophyceae (1 genus). Kelimpahan berkisar 8.000-22.000 sel/l, genus yang sering ditemukan antara lain Chaetoceros, Pleurosigma, dan Ceratium. Indeks keanekaragaman 0,377-1,386 (rendah-sedang), indeks keseragaman 0,544-1 (sedang-tinggi) dan indeks dominansi 0-0,456 (tidak ada dominansi). Zooplankton ditemukan 5 fila, yaitu Annelida (2 genera dari 1 kelas), Arthropoda (12 genera dari 2 kelas), Chaetoagnatha (1 genus dari 1 kelas), Chordata (1 kelas), Mollusca (4 genera dari 2 kelas). Kelimpahan berkisar antara 309-796 ind./l, genus yang paling sering ditemukan, yaitu Acartia dan Calanus. Indeks keanekaragaman 0,467-1,04 (rendah-sedang), indeks keseragaman 0,337-0,541 (rendah-sedang) dan indeks dominansi 0,459-0,663 (ada dominansi).

Abstract

Ribbonfish as demersal fish which is one of export commodity and can be found in Java coasts and estuaries in Sumatra. This research aims to determine the food habits of ribbonfish (Trichiurus lepturus) by analyzing the types of food found in the stomach of the fish collected from coastal area of Bandengan, Jepara Regency and the waters of Tawang, Kendal, both in Central Java Province. Food habits of fish was determined by stomach content analysis. The result indicates that food type of ribbonfish (T. lepturus) from Bandengan, Jepara, mostly were anchovies, long-jawed mackarel and white snappers. While food type of fish from Tawang, Kendal, mostly were ponyfish, followed by longjawed mackarel, and anchovies. The difference of food habits probably due to biotic condition environmental differences and like temperature, light, space and surface area.

Abstract

Penyu merupakan vertebrata laut yang termasuk kedalam kategori Appendix 1 yang artinya dilarang diperdagangkan secara internasional. Selain itu penyu salah satu hewan yang paling terancam populasinya secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Kematian tukik penyu disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor, diantaranya kerusakan habitat alami, pencemaran laut, serangan predator dan perburuan daging maupun telurnya untuk kepentingan komersial. Selain itu, menurunnya jumlah populasi penyu juga disebabkan dari infeksi jamur. Adanya jamur juga menjadi masalah di TCEC (Turtle Conservation and Education Center) yang menyebabkan tingginya tingkat kematian tukik dari penyu lekang (Lepidochelys olivacea). Maka dari itu dengan mengetahui jenis jamur yang ditemukan dapat dilakukan pengobatan serta pencegahan sesuai jamur yang menginfeksi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jamur yang ditemukan pada bagian tubuh penyu lekang (L. olivacea) dan cangkang telur penyu gagal menetas. Sampel tukik dari penyu lekang berumur 10 – 14 hari didapatkan dari penangkaran penyu TCEC Bali. Sampel yang sudah diambil kemudian diswab pada media PDA dan diinkubasi selama 7 hari. Setelah itu dilakukan purifikasi hingga didapatkan koloni murni. Tahap selanjutnya yaitu dilakukannya identifikasi genus secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis pada perbesaran 40x dan 100x. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa dari 10 sampel jamur yang diambil dari beberapa bagian tubuh penyu seperti pada mata, kaki, leher dan karapas dan cangkang telur gagal menetas saat sampling, didapatkan 15 isolat koloni jamur. Dari 15 isolat tersebut, ditemukan 5 genus Aspergillus sp, 5 genus Fusarium sp, 3 genus Pytophthora sp dan 1 isolat Trichoderma sp. Pada bagian tubuh jamur yang paling banyak ditemukan yaitu pada bagian leher  sebanyak 4 koloni dan masing-masing jenis jamur bisa ditemukan pada bagian leher. Jenis jamur yang paling banyak ditemukan pada cangkang telur penyu lekang yang gagal menetas yaitu jamur Aspergillus sp yang masing – masing memiliki bercak kuning pada cangkang telur. Selain dari cangkang telur yang memiliki bercak kuning didapatkan juga dari cangkang telur yang melunak.  Turtle is a marine vertebrata that belongs to Appendix 1 category which means it is prohibited to be traded internationally. In addition there is a sea turtle one of animals that are most under threat its population is set directly or indirectly. The death of hatchlings sea turtle was caused by various factors, including natural habitat destruction, marine pollution, predatory attacks and the hunting of meat and eggs for commercial purposes. In addition, the declining number of turtle populations is also caused by fungal infections. The presence of fungi is also a problem in TCEC which causes high mortality rates of turtles (Lepidochelys olivacea). Therefore, by knowing the type of fungus that can be found to be treated as well as prevention of appropriate fungi that infect. The purpose of this study was to identify the fungus found in the turtle body part (L. olivacea) and the turtle eggshell failed to hatch. The turtle samples from turtles aged 10-14 days were obtained from TCEC Bali turtle breeding. Samples were taken later in swabbing on PDA media and incubated for 7 days. After that purification to get a pure colony. The next stage is the identification of the genus in macroscopic and microscopic at 40x and 100x magnification. The results showed that from 10 samples of fungus taken from some parts of sea turtle body such as on eyes, feet, neck and carapace, and eggshell failed to hatch during sampling, 15 isolates of fungal colonies were found. Of the 15 isolates, found 5 genera of Aspergillus sp, 5 genus of Fusarium sp, 3 genus of Pytophthora sp and 1 isolate of Trichoderma sp. In the body of the fungus is most commonly found in the neck as much as 4 colonies and each type of fungus can be found on the neck. The most common types of fungus found in eggshell shells that fail to hatch are the Aspergillus sp fungus, each of which has yellow spots on the eggshell. Apart from the eggshell that has yellow spots it is also obtained from the softened eggshell.

Abstract

ABSTRAK : Rajungan merupakan komoditas perikanan bernilai ekonomis penting dan memiliki nilai komersial yang cukup tinggi. Salah satu desa yang memproduksi rajungan adalah Desa Betahwalang. Sebagian besar rajungan hasil tangkapan di perairan Betahwalang dikirim untuk di ekspor ke luar negeri. Tingginya permintaan pasar terhadap komoditas perikanan rajungan memicu eksploitasi yang berlebihan sehingga dapat berdampak terhadap kelestarian sumber daya rajungan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis sebaran lebar karapas dan proporsi EBF (egg berried female) rajungan di Desa Betahwalang, Demak terkait dengan upaya pengelolaan rajungan secara berkelanjutan sesuai dengan Peraturan Menteri Kelautan dan Perikanan no. 1 tahun 2015. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari – Maret 2019 di Desa Betahwalang, Demak menggunakan metode random sampling. Pengukuran rajungan dilakukan di bakul yang ada di Desa Betahwalang, Demak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1003 ekor rajungan (83%) yang tertangkap berukuran >10 cm dari total 1203 rajungan tertangkap. Nisbah kelamin di Desa Betahwalang menunjukkan bahwa antara jantan dan betina seimbang (1:1,06). Sedangkan untuk betina bertelur yang tertangkap (EBF) berjumlah 81 ekor rajungan (13%). ABSTRACT : Blue Swimming Crab is one of fisheries commodity with highly important economical and commerce value. One of the village that produce blue crab is Betahwalang. Most of the crabs are exported. With high demand of blue crab resulting in over exploitation that affects the population of blue crab. The purpose of this research is to analyze the spread of carapace width and the proportion of EBF (Egg Berried Female of the blue swimming crab in Desa Betahwalang, Demak that are related with the continuous management effort of blue crab consistent with Peraturan Menteri Kelautan dan Perikanan No 1 Tahun 2015. This research was conducted on February – March 2019 at Desa Betahwalang, Demak using random sampling method. The measurement of blue crab was done on the buyer at Desa Betahwalang, Demak. The results show that 1003 blue crab (83%) that were caught had carapace width more than 10 cm from 1203 blue crab caught. The ratio of male and female crab show that male and female were equal (1:1,06). For the egg berried female (EBF) that were caught shows 81 blue crab caught (13%).

Abstract

One of the fish part of family Plotosidae are Sembilang. This marine fish are usually consumed by the peoples as smoked fish. Peoples know well this fish became of their good teste and has quite nutritious. Although Sembilang not been many studied, but research on aspects of reproduction and morphometry of Sembilang is necessary to prevent the decline in this fish populations. The research was conducted in October 2011 and was continued in April 2012. The samples of the fish taken in the fish landing base in Krobokan, Semarang region. The total number of the fish samples taken as many as 30 fish, with the length between 35 cm to 70 cm and total weight ranged from 250 grams to 1600 grams. The results of the data analysis for the GSI values in both periods (October 2011 and April 2012) obtained between 5,583 % to 33,417 %. The values of Lm in the study period of October 2011 was 36,808 cm and in period of April 2012 was 26,927 cm. Diameter of fish eggs obtained from the both periods (October 2011 and April 2012) between 0,1 cm to 0,8 cm. Length and weight regression of fish in the October 2011 showed W=(0,0171)L2,691 and in the April 2012 showed W=(0,0234)L2,621. The values of condition factor in the October 2011 between 0,843 to 1,111 and in the April 2012 between 0,812 to 1,324.

Abstract

Ikan Cakalang yang ditemukan di pantai Puger ini memiliki ukuran yang beragam. Nama ilmiah disebut dengan (Katsuwonus pelamis) diambil dari bahasa Jepang yang artinya ikan keras. Umumnya ikan cakalang termasuk  ikan perenang cepat dan mempunyai sifat rakus dalam mencari makan. Ikan cakalang ini mencari makan berdasarkan penglihatan dan rakus terhadap mangsanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kebiasaan makan ikan cakalang (Katsuwonus pelamis) berbagai ukuran yang didaratkan di perairan pantai Puger, Kabupaten Jember. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode frekuensi kejadian. Sampel ikan sebanyak 107 ekor diambil pada tanggal 31 Oktober – 1 Desember 2018. Pengambilan data ikan dilaksanakan di lapangan dengan mengukur berat dan panjang total ikan. Pengamatan lambung ikan dilakukan dengan cara membedah tubuh ikan dan dianalisis komposisi yang terdapat pada lambung ikan cakalang. Dengan menggunakan metode frekuensi kejadian tiap isi yang terdapat pada lambung ikan dicacat dan dinyatakan dalam persen. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan dari 107 ekor ikan cakalang yang diamati diketahui distribusi panjang dan berat berkisar 51-92 cm dan kisaran berat 4700-7200 gram. Sedangkan isi yang terdapat pada lambung ikan cakalang adalah ikan,cumi dan udang. Hasil dari perhitungan yang telah dilakukan dapat dijelaskan bahwa organisme ikan yang komposisinya paling banyak dengan nilai persentase pada tanggal 31 bulan oktober sebesar 74%, tanggal 7 bulan November 85%, tanggal 13 bulan November sebesar 91%, tanggal 19 bulan November sebesar 87%, tanggal 25 bulan November sebesar 83% dan tanggal 1 Desember nilai persentase 89%. Ikan cakalang yang terdapat di Pantai puger memiliki petrumbuhan yang bersifat alometrik negatif dengan nilai b sebesar -1,2113 dan a sebesar 0,7585 sehingga diketahui pertumbuhan panjang tubuh ikan lebih cepat dari pertumbuhan berat ikan. Skipjack found on Puger beach have a variety of sizes. The scientific name of it ca lled (Katsuwonus pelamis), it is taken from Japanese which means hard fish. Generally, skipjack is also be included as fast swimmer fish and it has a greedy nature in foraging. This skipjack look for the meal is based on vision and they are greedy for their prey. This study aims to determine the eating habits of skipjack (Katsuwonus pelamis) of various sizes that are landed in the coastal waters of Puger, Jember Regency. The method used in this study is the method of frequency of events. There are 107 fish samples that were taken on 31 October - 1 December 2018. The taking of the data was carried out in the field by measuring the total weight and length of the fish. Observation of fish stomach was done by dissecting the body of the fish and analyzing the composition contained in the stomach of skipjack. Using the method of frequency of occurrence, each content contained in the fish stomach is deformed and expressed in percent. The results of the study showed that 107 of the skipjack that is observed, were known to have a long distribution and weight ranging from 51-92 cm and a weight range of 4700-7200 grams. While the contents contained in the stomach of skipjack are fish, squid and shrimp. The results of the calculations that have been made can be explained that the fish organisms whose composition is the most with a percentage value on October 31 of 74%, November 7, 85%, November 13 of 91%, November 19 of 87%, the 25th of November is 83% and December 1 is a percentage of 89%. The skipjack found in the puger beach has plants that are negative allometric with a value of b of -1.2113 and a of 0.7585 so it is known that the growth of fish body length is faster than the growth of fish weight.

Abstract

Turtle is an organism that spends his life at sea and be able to migrate long distances along the Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean and Southeast Asia. The presence of turtles in Indonesia are increasingly threatened with extinction, both natural and human activities that lead to the existence of the endangered sea turtles. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving different feed concentrations on the growth of hatcling olive ridley turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) The age of 2 weeks during the treatment period of 10 weeks. Data is collected from 21 August to 30 October 2010 using the experimental method. The study was conducted at Samas beach Yogyakarta. Feed given in the form of shrimp ebi 3% and 8% of the weight of biomass. The number of hatchlings that are used are 12 tails that are placed in six containers. Measurement of growth of weight, length and width of hatchlings carried out once every 2 weeks for 10 weeks of observation. The results of the study indicate that the hatchlings fed shrimp ebi with a concentration of 3% have a specific growth rate on average 0366 ± 0008 is smaller than hatchlings fed with a concentration of 8% on average 0425 ± 0006. The results of data analysis using the specific growth rate of the test statistic t with feeding treatment with different concentrations showed that the sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 or p <0.05. So it can be proved that the specific growth rate in both treatments were significantly different.

Abstract

ABSTRAK : Rajungan (Portunus pelagicus) merupakan salah satu produk perikanan yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui variasi panjang, lebar dan berat rajungan (Portunus pelagicus) di Perairan Sambiroto pati dan Mengetahui rasio jantan betina rajungan yang tertangkap di Perairan Sambiroto Pati. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober-November 2018 di Perairan Sambiroto, Pati. Pengambilan data rajungan meliputi data lebar dan berat rajungan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan 744 ekor rajungan yang diamati diketahui variasi ukuran rajungan yang tertangkap baik jantan dan betina yang berukuran lebar > 120 mm sebanyak 68,52% dari jumlah seluruhnya yang tertangkap. Rajungan yang tertangkap di Sambiroto memiliki pertumbuhan yang bersifat allometrik negatif dengan nilai b sebesar 2,21 pada rajungan jantan dan 1,17 pada rajungan betina. Sehingga diketahui pertumbuhan lebar lebih cepat daripada pertumbuhan berat rajungan  ABSTRACT : Swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) is a fishery product that has high economic value. The purpose of this study is to determine the variation in length, width and weight of crabs (Portunus pelagicus) in Sambiroto starch waters and to determine the ratio of crab females that are caught in Sambiroto Pati waters. This research was conducted in October-November 2018 in Sambiroto Waters, Pati. The crab retrieval data includes the crab width and weight data. The results of this study showed that 744 small crabs observed sizes variations of small crab caught both males and females with width> 120 mm totaling 68.52% of the total number caught. The crabs caught in Sambiroto have negative allometric growth with a b value of 2.21 in male crabs and 1.17 in female crabs. So it is known that the width growth is faster than the crab weight growth.
