Abstract

The high level of job satisfaction in Indonesia does not necessarily indicate the same perception of work across all age groups, especially among pre-elderly workers (aged 45–59 years). This research aims to investigate the relationship between presenteeism and job satisfaction among pre-elderly workers, while also testing the mediating roles of resilience and work- health balance. This research uses a quantitative correlational approach and Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis technique on data from 146 pre- elderly workers who have experienced presenteeism due to minor illnesses. The findings show that neither dimensions of presenteeism are not directly related to job satisfaction. Although the completing work is positively associated to resilience, resilience was not found to mediate the relationship between presenteeism and job satisfaction. On the other hand, both presenteeism dimensions were related with work-health balance. Work-health balance was found to be a significant mediator only in the relationship between completing work and job satisfaction. These findings highlight the importance role of work-health balance in supporting job satisfaction among pre-elderly workers who practice presenteeism.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Digital identity is a self-representation built through online activities and has become a crucial aspect for Generation Z, who grew up amidst technological advancements. One widely used platform is LinkedIn, which functions not only to expand professional networks but also as a means of building self-image. However, exposure to other people's profiles on LinkedIn, which tend to be perceived as better and more attractive than one's own self-image, can trigger social comparison, potentially reducing an individual's psychological well-being. This study aims to examine the relationship between digital identity and social comparison among Generation Z LinkedIn users, as well as the moderating role of wisdom in this relationship. This study used a quantitative method, with 404 Generation Z LinkedIn employee participants aged 18–25 years old. The instruments used included the Digital Identity Scale to measure digital identity, the IOWA Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure (INCOM) to measure social comparison, and the Brief Self-Assessed Wisdom Scale (BSAWS) to measure wisdom. Data analysis was conducted using correlation tests and multiple linear regression. The results showed that digital identity had a positive and significant effect on social comparison (? = 0.711, p < 0.001). Meanwhile, wisdom did not significantly moderate the relationship (p = 0.608). Additional findings showed significant differences in wisdom based on age and employment status, but not by gender.

Abstract

The increasing competitiveness of the job market and the high unemployment rate among young adults, including university graduates, require final-year students to develop adequate work readiness before transitioning into the professional world. One important factor in shaping this readiness is the ability to make career decisions, which must be supported by autonomy and responsibility toward chosen career paths. This study employed a quantitative approach with purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed using multiple regression. A total of 301 final-year students from public and private universities participated in the study. The instruments used included the autonomy dimension of the Basic Psychological Need Satisfaction and Frustration Scale (BPNSNF), the Career Decision-Making Difficulties Questionnaire (CDDQ), and the Work Readiness Scale (WRS). The findings indicate that autonomy and career decision-making ability positively contribute to work readiness, accounting for 65.4 percent of the variance. The study also revealed gender differences, where male students demonstrated higher levels of career decision-making ability and work readiness compared to female students.

Abstract

Families of children with cancer experience significant emotional, physical, and social stressors, beginning at the diagnostic phase and continuing throughout the long-term treatment process. This condition can reduce hope, weaken perseverance, and disrupt the psychological capacity of parents in fulfilling their caregiving roles. This Community Service Program aimed to strengthen the psychological capacity of families through psychoeducation based on positive psychology, emphasizing the reinforcement of hope, resilience, and grit, as well as optimizing the role of the Parent Club (PC) of Yayasan Onkologi Anak Indonesia as a key pillar of community support for newly affected families. The program was conducted in a hybrid format and involved 87 participants, consisting of Parent Club members, parents of children currently undergoing cancer treatment, and community support facilitators. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated through pre-test and post-test measures completed by 65 participants. The results indicated a consistent increase in participants’ understanding across all measured indicators, reflected in a higher percentage of correct responses related to the concepts of resilience, hope, grit, and the meaning of parental toughness. This improvement illustrates a shift in participants’ perspectives from reactive responses toward more structured and adaptive interpretations of the caregiving process. These findings demonstrate that a psychoeducational approach incorporating reflective activities, expressive writing exercises, and participatory discussions is effective in enhancing parents’ psychological literacy and strengthening their emotional readiness to cope with the prolonged demands of caregiving.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between relation boredom proneness and infidelity tendency among emerging adults who are in long-distance relationships (LDR). Long-distance relationships often limit direct interaction and shared experiences, which may increase feelings of boredom and potentially encourage infidelity tendencies. This study employed a quantitative correlational design using purposive sampling. Participants consisted of 405 emerging adults aged 21–40 years who were currently involved in long-distance romantic relationships. Data were collected using the Relation Boredom Proneness Scale and the Infidelity Tendency Scale, both of which demonstrated adequate validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using Spearman’s correlation test. The results revealed a positive and significant relationship between relation boredom proneness and infidelity tendency (r = 0.459, p < 0.001). This finding indicates that higher levels of boredom within romantic relationships are associated with a greater tendency to engage in infidelity. Additional analyses showed significant differences based on age and relationship duration, while no significant differences were found based on gender or relationship status. Overall, the findings suggest that relation boredom proneness is an important psychological factor that contributes to infidelity tendencies among emerging adults in long-distance relationships. Abstract

The phenomenon of fear of missing out (FoMO) is increasingly experienced by Generation Z in line with the rising use of social media, particularly TikTok, which has become a dominant platform with a very high level of engagement. This app, with its algorithm that continuously updates trends and content, can amplify the anxiety of users who feel left out of social activities, leading them to constantly monitor the platform. One psychological factor that can reduce the impact of FoMO is self-compassion, which refers to an individual’s ability to be kind to oneself and accept difficult experiences as part of the human condition. Individuals with higher self-compassion tend to cope better with social pressures and regulate their emotions more effectively. This study aims to examine the role of self-compassion in reducing FoMO among TikTok users in Generation Z. Through analysis of 305 participants aged 18–28 years, the study found that higher levels of self-compassion contribute to a decrease in the tendency to experience FoMO, explaining 13.2% of the variance in FoMO. The findings suggest that self-compassion can be an important factor in reducing the negative impact of FoMO, which is commonly experienced by social media users. These results highlight the importance of developing self-compassion as an adaptive strategy to cope with social pressure in the digital age.
