Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to know the difference between the effectiveness of using to POE models assisted PhET simulaton and Props in reduction the quantity of students that misconception about electric circuit DC at SMA Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak. This study design is quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The sample 23 students of experiment class I and 39 students of experiment class II. This partisipants were chosen by Purposive Sampling. Diagnostic test like multiple choices without reasons amount 8 questionts using to measure of student’s misconception. The results showed reduction percentage of students who misconceptions about 65,8% in experiment class I and 53,5% in experiment class II. Based on the Z of Proportion two test, there was the significant difference of the number of student’s misconception between the class remediated using POE models assisted PhET simulaton and the class remediated using POE models assested Props (Zhitung = -3,79, α = 5% dan -Ztabel -1.96). Remediation effectiveness showed by DQM value about 76% in experiment class I and 60% in experiment class II. This research is hoped can be the alternative to remediation of student’s misconceptions about the another subject of knowlegde in physics.Keywords:   Remediasi, POE, PhET, alat peraga.

Abstract

AbstractThis pre-experimental study aims to know the effectiveness of remediation on students’ misconceptions by using PDEODE learning model aided PhET on the concept of direct-current electrical circuit to students of grade XI IPA I SMA Negeri 1 Sintang. 27 students in XI grade was selected by intact group in random sampling technique as a sample of this research. A diagnostic test consist of 8 multiple choice questions with an open reason is used as a research instrument to find students' misconceptions. The instrument was tested in MA Negeri Sintang and obtained index reliability 0.711 which as reliable categories. Based on the results, the highest percentage of students’ misconceptions during pretest (85.19%) and posttest (37.04%) is on the concept of effect of adding or reducing a lamp to another bright flame of light on parallel circuit. Overall, average decrease of students’ misconceptions each indicator is 63.55%. The effectiveness of remediation is shown from the magnitude of effect size value with the result of 2.18 which was high categorized. This research is expected to be an alternative choice for teacher to reduce students’ misconceptions.Keywords: Remediation, Miconception, Effectiveness, PDEODE, PhET, Direct-Current Electrical Circuit

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to know the effectivity of the Problem Based Learning  (PBL) design to remediate the misconceptions of the students toward oscillation subject. This study used quasy-experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design which 63 students participated at  the VIII grade in SMPN 2 Sungai Raya, which was taken by cluster random sampling. The data was taken by 15 multiple choice open-ended questions. The average of the reduction of the misconceptions in the experimental class was 51.99%, whereas in control group was 14.38%. Based on U Mann-Whitney with significance 5%, showed that there was a significant difference between the PBL design and conventional design to remediate the student’s misconceptions in oscillation. PBL design is effective in remediating the student’s misconceptions in oscillation with effect size score in 2.31 which is categorized high enough by Cohen. So the PBL design can be used as the alternative design for remediating the misconceptions. Keyword: Remediation, Problem Based Learning, Oscilation

Abstract

This research aims to know effectiveness remediation through problem solving to reduce students error in finishing the question of energy material on IXth grade SMP Kemala Bhayangkari Sungai Raya. Research method is Pre-Experimental Design form One Group Pretest-Postest Design. The research sample taken through cluster sampling randomly that consist of 21 students. The result of data analisys showed that average students error at pretest is entering and calculation numbers 11,95, unit conversion 5,76, using form 7 and not finishing 4, whereas at posttest entering and calculation numbers 10,88, unit conversion 5,71, using form 7 and not finishing 4. Students error decrease got average is 2 as well as proportion of effectiveness reach 0.07. Thus, researcher have as a conclusion that remediation through problem solving of energy material is effective decrease students error finishing the question and suggested have variative evaluating not only comprehension but skill and question finishing process. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas remediasi melalui pemecahan masalah untuk menurunkan kesalahan siswa menyelesaikan soal energi di kelas IX SMP Kemala Bhayangkari Sungai Raya. Metode yang digunakan adalah Pre-Experimental Design bentuk One Group Pretest-Postest Design. Sampel berjumlah 21 siswa diambil acak melalui cluster sampling. Hasil yang diperoleh berupa rata-rata kesalahan siswa pada tes awal yaitu memasukkan angka dan menghitung 11,95, mengkonversi satuan 5,76, menggunakan formula 7 dan tidak menyelesaikan soal 4, sedangkan pada tes akhir yaitu memasukkan angka dan menghitung 10,88, mengkonversi satuan 5,71, kemudian menggunakan formula 6,14 dan tidak menyelesaikan soal 4. Kemudian penurunan kesalahan siswa diperoleh rata-rata 2 serta menghasilkan proporsi tingkat efektivitas sebesar 0,07. Dari uraian hasil penelitian disimpulkan remediasi melalui pemecahan masalah efektif menurunkan kesalahan siswa menyelesaikan soal energi dan disarankan tahap evaluasi yang dilakukan lebih variatif tidak hanya pemahaman melainkan kemampuan serta proses menyelesaikan soal. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas model guided inquiry dalam meremediasi miskonsepsi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya pada materi tekanan hidrostatis. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Pre Experimental Design dengan rancangan One Group Pretest Posttest Design. Alat pengumpul data berupa 12 soal pilihan ganda disertai alasan terbuka. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 31 siswa yang dipilih secara random dengan teknik intact group. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh profil miskonsepsi siswa tertinggi adalah semakin kecil luas penampang maka tekanan hidrostatis semakin besar (74,19%). Persentase penurunan rata-rata jumlah siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi sebesar 51,6%. Persentase rata-rata penurunan jumlah miskonsepsi tiap siswa sebesar 68,11%. Berdasarkan perhitungan effect size diperoleh bahwa remediasi menggunakan model guided inquiry efektif untuk mengatasi miskonsepsi siswa pada materi tekanan hidrostatis dengan skor 0,67 (kategori sedang).   Kata kunci: Remediasi, Miskonsepsi, Guided Inquiry Abstract: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of guided inquiry model to remediate misconceptions in grade VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya on the hydrostatic pressure concept. Form of study is a pre-experimental design with the design of one group pre-test post-test design. Data collection tool in the form of 12 multiple choice questions with three alternative answers with an open reasoning. The study sample was 31 students chosen at random by the technique intact group. Based on data analysis student misconceptions highest profile is the smaller the cross-sectional area, the greater the hydrostatic pressure (74.19).The percentage decrease in the average number of students who have misconceptions at 51.6%. The average percentage decrease in the number of misconceptions of each student by 68.11%. Based on the calculation of the effect size obtained that remediation using an effective model of guided inquiry to address student misconceptions in the material hydrostatic pressure with a score of 0.67 (medium category).   Keywords: Remediation, Misconceptions, Guided Inquiry

Abstract

Abstrak: This study is aimed to determine the effect of remediation by re-using the learning methods of scramble to lower the students' learning difficulties on class VIII K Immanuel II junior high school for Newton's law. It uses Pre-Experimental Design, which formed as One Group Pretest-Posttest Design with a total of 33 participants VIIIA class by selected intact group. The data collection tools used such as: Multiple-choice diagnostic tests to determine the average decline in the students' learning difficulties and the student interest questionnaire in a closed questionnaire to find a large increase in the student interest. Pretest and posttest results show a decline in the average percentage of students' learning difficulties each concepts by 5.90% and the average decrease in the percentage of students' learning difficulties by 9.78%. Wilcoxon test results show that there are differences between the students' learning difficulties while the remediation using scramble has been given and after in a re-learning method (Z count (2.43)> Z table value (1.96)) with the level of effectiveness about 0.3 (relatively low).The improvement of student interest are moderate ((g) = 0,37). Bentuk penelitian ini merupakan Pre-Experimental Design dengan rancangan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design menggunakan partisipan sebanyak 33 siswa kelas VIIIA yang dipilih secara intact group. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan berupa tes diagnostik berbentuk pilihan ganda untuk mengetahui rata-rata penurunan kesulitan belajar siswa dan angket minat belajar siswa berupa angket tertutup untuk mengetahui besar peningkatan minat belajar siswa. Hasil pretes dan posttest menunjukkan terjadi penurunan rata-rata persentase kesulitan belajar siswa tiap konsep sebesar 5,90% dan penurunan rata-rata persentase kesulitan belajar tiap siswa sebesar 9,78%. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kesulitan belajar siswa antara sebelum dan setelah diberikan remediasi menggunakan metode scramble dalam pembelajaran ulang (Z hitung (2,43) > nilai Z tabel (1,96)) dengan tingkat efektivitasnya sebesar 0,3 (tergolong rendah). Peningkatan minat belajar siswa tergolong sedang ((g)=0,37). Kata kunci : Remediasi, kesulitan belajar, metode scramble

Abstract

This research has the objective of knowing the application of light concept as a sensor in the moment of projectile motion using the aplication of light sensor interfacing in stopwatch. The making of light sensor device is with electronic circuits method, while the defeniting the time uses digital stopwatch. Both devices are combined to be instrument of projectile motion experiment. The result of data analysis from the graphic, the distance of the time line the curve, that it is achieved a relationship between the variable and gradient or the degree of the graphic slope of the line is 4,875. From the calculation the gradient got gravitational acceleration (g) that is 9,75 m/s2. Gravitational acceleration that is almost reading the standard  gravitational acceleration, that is 9,8 m/s2 and it has only 0,05 m/s2 in difference from the research. It proves that this device can work well and stopwatch can automatically work. Keywords:  Interfacing  light sensor, motion projectile.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of thinking skills of students in solving Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) questions about simple aircraft material which are then analyzed with the help of the winstep program from Rasch modeling. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a survey method. Data collection by giving a test, HOTS-based questions with cognitive levels C4 and C5 as many as 15 items in multiple choice form. Subjects in this study amounted to 120 students that is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pontianak. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the average level of thinking ability of students in solving HOTS questions about simple aircraft material is 59% in the moderate category. The level of thinking ability of students at each cognitive level can be concluded that the average thinking ability of students at the cognitive level to analyze (C4) is 50% with the medium category, and at the cognitive level evaluating (C5) by 44% with low categories. The level of thinking skills of students on each simple aircraft sub-material can be concluded that the average thinking ability of students on the lever material is 37% with the medium category, on the inclined plane material, namely 52% with the high category, and the pulley material is 35% in the low category. Based on the results of this analysis, it shows that on average students have not been able to solve questions with more complex characteristics or a high level. Therefore, This research is expected that students can be trained in solving problems at a higher level in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the effectiveness of using Systematic Approach Strategy on remedy to reduce the total incorrect results on answering the test on the topic of work and energy on the students at SMA Negeri 1 Batu Ampar. The population in this research are 72 students. Technique of data collection in this research is intact group with 36 students as the sample. The research implements experiment method. The research use limited topic on the test consist of work and energy. Statistic test used in this research is Wilcoxon  with value  = -0.1631, if this results are compared with value  on taraf nyata  = 0.025, it resulted, with the value 0.1631 < 1,96. After analyze found that there are no significant differences on the total incorrect results on answering the test on the topic of work and energy by students at XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Batu Ampar before and after remedy. The Conclusion from the results found that the strategy can reduce the total incorrect results of the students answering the test on the topic of work and energy with effectiveness low at the average 11.18%.Keywords:

Abstract

This meta-analysis aims to determine the effect of research characteristics on the effect size of the direct instruction learning model in the undergraduate thesis of the Physics Education Study Program FKIP UNTAN, published in 2016-2019. This type of research is a survey research with purposive sampling technique consisting of 6 theses. Data collection techniques in this research are documentary studies. The results of undergraduate thesis Physics Education study programs that use the direct instruction learning model obtained an average effect size of 1.00 which high effectiveness categories based on the John Hattie barometer. In this study, there are 2 characteristics of researchers examined, among others: the gender of the researcher and Grade Point Average (GPA) of the researcher. Based on the 2 characteristics of the researchers, it did not have a significant effect on the effect size of the undergraduate students' thesis in the Physics Education study program that uses the direct instruction learning model. In this study there were 13 characteristics of the methodology studied including: research location, school level, sample size, number of classes, number of meetings, material sub-fields, learning tools or media, test reliability coefficient, instrument validity, test forms, forms of research, designs experiments, and data collection tools. Of the 13 characteristics of the methodology, it did not have a significant effect on the effect size of the undergraduate students' thesis in the Physics Education study program that used the direct instruction learning model.
