Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Background: The proportion of people with asymptomatic infection likely varies with age because of the increasing prevalence of co-morbid conditions in older age groups (thus the risk of severe disease increases with increasing age), and because children are less likely than adults to show clinical symptoms. This means that children have a greater chance of not showing symptoms but can transmit COVID-19 to those closest to them, especially their families. This study aimed to develop a pop-up book as a medium for promoting COVID-19 health in grade 4 elementary school children. Indicators of success in the development if the media is said to be effective.Subjects and Method: This research is Research and Development (RnD) which was carried out in 6 elementary schools, Ternate, North Maluku. A total of 97 grade 4 students were selected in this study. The dependent variable is knowledge and attitude. The Independent Variable is the COVID-19 pop-up Book. Data was collected using a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the t-test, and the improvement test using the N-Gain.Results: After health promotion interventions using a pop-up book for 4th grade elementary school, knowledge (Mean= 17.18; SD= 0.93) was higher than before (Mean= 16.06; SD= 1.76), the results statistically significant (p< 0.001). The attitude after intervention (Mean= 25.27; SD= 2.14) was higher than before (Mean= 20.12; SD= 3.53), the result also statistically significant (p< 0.001).Conclusion: The COVID-19 pop-up book media is effective for use as a media for health promotion. Keywords: development, pop-up books, COVID-19.Correspondence:Annisa Rizkiyah. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership and work culture on the quality of learning in elementary schools of the Baskara Sumirat Cluster, Tembalang District. This study uses a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. Data collection is carried out through standardized questionnaires. The validity and reliability test was carried out using SPSS version 26. Data analysis includes descriptive statistics, key component analysis (PCA), and simple and multiple linear regressions. The results showed that transformational leadership had a significant influence of 60.4% on the quality of learning. Work culture contributed 35.4%, and simultaneously, the two variables explained 69.0% variability. The regression coefficient shows a greater influence of transformational leadership than work culture. This study highlights integrating leadership approaches and work culture in public elementary schools. This study reinforces the position of transformational leadership variables as a key factor that is more dominant than work culture, while providing an empirical data-based predictive model in the context of Indonesian basic education.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of instructional leadership, teachers’ professional competence, and learning communities on the quality of elementary schools in Tembalang District, Semarang City. The study focuses on determining the extent to which each variable contributes, both partially and simultaneously, to school quality. A quantitative approach was applied using an ex post facto method and a correlational research design. The population consisted of all public elementary school teachers in Tembalang District, totaling 367 individuals. A proportional random sampling technique, classified as a probability sampling method, was employed to ensure representativeness from each school, resulting in a final sample of 191 teachers. Data were collected through closed-ended questionnaires, which underwent validity testing using Pearson's Product-Moment and reliability testing using Cronbach's Alpha, confirming their validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using simple and multiple linear regression via SPSS version 26. The results revealed that, partially, instructional leadership contributed 84.8% to school quality, professional competence contributed 82.4%, and learning communities contributed 35.9%. Simultaneously, the three variables had a significant combined influence of 91.7%. These findings indicate that improving the quality of elementary schools requires a synergistic interaction between effective instructional leadership, strong professional competence of teachers, and active learning communities. The study is expected to serve as a valuable reference for education policymakers in designing more effective and sustainable strategies to enhance the quality of basic education.

Abstract

Pulukan Village, located in the Jembrana Regency of Bali, is one of the primary communities that produce organic cocoa. The huge demand for organic cocoa beans has not been satisfied due to the poor production per hectare. One of the causes is that cocoa farmers in the village have trouble obtaining the recommended volumes of organic fertilizers and biopesticides. To raise the yield of organic cocoa, this service is provided to farmers to enhance their knowledge and ability to create organic fertilizers and biopesticides from local components. The activities are implemented through counselling and training on producing organic fertilizers and biopesticides, followed by support in applying organic fertilizers and biopesticides. Participants in training and mentoring are encouraged to work together and learn concurrently. The implementation of the counselling on the production of organic fertilizers and biopesticides was excellent, as indicated by the fact that 93.33 per cent of participants said they comprehended the material presented very well, and 100 percent said it was fascinating and very beneficial. Participants could produce excellent organic fertilizers and biopesticides due to training activities involving direct practice. As a result of training in plots, organic fertilizers, and biopesticides can improve farmers' ability to directly implement fertilizing methods and disease pest management in organic cocoa farming. Applying organic fertilizers and biopesticides in the plot revealed that cocoa trees treated with organic fertilizers and biopesticides had greater growth and fewer disease-causing insect infestations than control trees. This motivated the service volunteers to implement the plot's best practices on their organic cocoa crops.
