Abstract

Crystal guava (Psidium guajava L.) holds significant growth potential in Indonesia due to its large fruit size, immaculate flesh, minimal seed content (less than 3%), and high vitamin C levels. However, production faces challenges such as inconsistencies in quality and freshness, variations in fruit shape that deviate from market preferences, and inconsistent quality among farmers in Bojonegoro Regency. This study investigates the impact of product attributes, customer attitudes, and consumer interest on purchasing decisions for crystal guava in the region. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, utilizing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Warp Partial Least Square (WarpPLS). Primary data were gathered through structured questionnaires with 117 respondents, while secondary data were obtained from literature reviews using a non-probability sampling method. The results reveal that product attributes positively influence customer attitudes and consumer interest. Additionally, consumer interest and attitudes significantly affect purchasing decisions. The study underscores the importance of improving product quality and consistency to enhance customer perceptions and interest. Addressing these issues will not only meet consumer expectations but also boost market demand for crystal guava in Bojonegoro Regency. Strengthening product attributes is critical to fostering favorable attitudes, increasing interest, and driving purchasing decisions. Keywords: Consumer attitudes, Consumer interests, Crystal guava fruit, Product attributes, Purchase decisions.

Abstract

Malang City experiences an increase in population every year, which has led to a reduction in agricultural land. In addition, the population continues to grow due to the arrival of newcomers and students from outside the city. Despite having a high population, there is still unused agricultural land that has not been optimally utilized. These areas have transitioned to urban farming by using the land to produce healthy vegetables. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing interest in agriculture, such as knowledge, attitude, and perception. A quantitative approach was used in this research, employing purposive sampling techniques, including interviews and documentation. The total sample size in this study was 70 respondents. Data processing was conducted using descriptive statistical analysis and SEM-PLS. The results of the study indicate that knowledge and attitude toward urban agriculture do not have a significant effect on people’s interest in farming in urban areas. However, perception of urban agriculture has a positive influence on interest, as the community recognizes its economic, social, and environmental benefits.

Abstract

Crowding in the physical environment of restaurants are common in popular restaurants. Human crowding refers to the large number of visitors in the restaurant. And spatial crowding refers to the dense physical environment of a restaurant, such as a large number of tables and chairs and decorations or restaurant design ornaments that are dense enough to make the restaurant look narrower. Through this density and crowding, restaurants must provide a good image or reputation to increase consumer attachment, satisfaction, and repurchase intentions. Data was collected using an online questionnaire and distributed to 200 respondents from spicy noodle restaurant consumers. Furthermore, data analysis uses SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square) with the help of WarpPLS 8.0 software. The results showed that human and spatial crowding affects brand image, brand image affects brand attachment and customer satisfaction, brand attachment and customer satisfaction affect repurchase intention, and human and spatial crowding influence repurchase intention through brand image, brand attachment, and customer satisfaction as mediation. Based on this study's results, the operant hoped that the restaurant can determine strategies by considering variables and indicators that can increase customer satisfaction and repurchase intentions.

Abstract

Urban consumers are increasingly exposed to health risks and dietary transitions, prompting growing interest in organic food products. However, actual purchasing behavior for organic options, such as fruit salad, remains inconsistent, particularly in emerging economies. Existing studies tend to emphasize attitudinal factors in developed markets, leaving a gap in understanding how structural demographic attributes influence organic preferences in developing urban contexts. This study aims to examine how education, marital status, income, gender, expenditure, and buying frequency shape consumer preference for organic fruit salad. A cross-sectional survey was conducted in an urban Indonesian setting, and binary logistic regression was employed to identify significant predictors. The results reveal that education and marital status are strong positive determinants of organic preference, while monthly expenditure is marginally significant. In contrast, income, gender, and buying frequency show no statistically significant effects. These findings suggest that informational access, household responsibility, and food budgeting behavior better explain organic food choices than income or habitual purchasing. The study contributes to consumer behavior and food preference literature by highlighting the socio-demographic foundations of sustainable consumption. Implications are offered for urban nutrition policy, consumer segmentation strategies, and targeted marketing to support the adoption of organic food in middle-income societies.

Abstract

This research aims to fill the knowledge gap by understanding that strategic resources such as collaboration networks, technology digitalization, and financial literacy contribute to improving performance through financial and business competencies and resilience in the perspective of a Resource-Based View (RBV). The study was conducted in Malang Raya, which has a dynamic agro-tourism area but is facing market pressure and high competition. It involved 50 chip MSME players who have been operating for at least two years. The research method uses the SEM-PLS on seven main variables: collaboration network, digitalization, financial literacy, competence, financial resilience, business resilience, and business performance. The results show that the three main resources have a significant effect on performance improvement, either directly or through strengthening competence and resilience. This research provides a theoretical contribution by expanding the application of RBV in the context of traditional food MSMEs, as well as presenting an integrative model to improve the competitiveness of MSMEs. Further research is recommended to explore external variables such as regulation and the dynamics of the growing digital market.

Abstract

Abstract

Contract Farming is considered to be able to increase farmers' yields and income. In addition, another factor that influences is socio-demographic factors, so this research contributes as a reference in coffee farmers' decision-making in choosing adaptation strategies. This research also supports the long-term sustainability of farming to address climate change by supporting the thirteenth Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to climate change mitigation by increasing effective planning and management capacities related to climate change, especially in the agricultural sector in Indonesia. This research was conducted in August 2022 in Pasuruan and Malang, East Java Province. Respondents were determined by Multistage Random Sample Procedure with a total of 100 coffee farmers. From the interview data of 100 coffee farmers in East Java, it was found that the majority of farmers had an understanding of climate change from three indicators: changes in rainfall, temperature, and length of the rainy season. The analysis results showed that Contract Farming influenced farmers' decision to adapt to climate change. In addition, socio-demographic factors that influenced the decision to adapt were the age of the farmer, but its effect was negative, meaning that the younger the age of the farmer, the higher the chance of implementing adaptation strategies. The findings indicate that both Contract Farming and socio-demographic factors are crucial in shaping the adaptation strategies of coffee farmers in response to climate change. This research highlights the importance of promoting Contract Farming as a means to enhance farmers' resilience to climate impacts.

Abstract

Mapping Institutional Harmonisation for Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of Pokdarwis in Sumberputih Village in the Management of Semeru Pine Forest (HPS) This study explores the potential and challenges of tourism management in Sumberputih Village, Malang Regency, with a focus on the Semeru Pine Forest. Despite having great tourism potential, current management is hampered by infrastructure problems and a lack of coordination between agencies. Using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) method and K-Means Cluster Analysis, this study identified two main clusters: Cluster 1, characterised by moderate management and infrastructure conditions, and Cluster 2, which had better conditions. The analysis reveals that the cluster with better management (Cluster 2) achieves higher scores in organisational management, facilities and infrastructure, and community participation compared to Cluster 1. These findings underscore the need for institutional harmonisation and infrastructure improvement to increase the effectiveness of tourism management, as well as contribute to the development of sustainable tourism management models
