Abstract

The pandemic has shifted societal behavior towards a healthier lifestyle, with 7 out of 10 people in Indonesia desiring healthy food. Malang City, as one of the cities in East Java with many universities, has a significant Gen-Z population influencing the economic activities in the healthy food sector. This study explores the relationship between Perceived Risk and Purchase Decisions and the moderating role of Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM) among students in Malang City. Using quantitative methods and SEM-PLS analysis with 100 101 students from Universitas Brawijaya as respondents gathered through questionnaires, this study found that Perceived Risk significantly affects healthy food purchase decisions, and E-WOM is a significant moderating variable in this relationship. The study provides strategic recommendations for marketing and policies related to healthy food, including financial risk control through regular product price evaluations, the creation of social trends to reduce negative stigma among Gen-Z, improved production and delivery efficiency to speed up product reception, and maximizing the role of E-WOM through promoting positive reviews and educational content on social media to build a positive image and increase consumer loyalty.

A List of the 500 Most Powerful Muslims in the World: The Muslim 500 reports that 240 million people, or approximately 86.7% of Indonesia’s population, identify as Muslims according to data collected by The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre (RISSC) in 2024. With this, Indonesia surpasses all other countries in terms of the number of Muslims. At the moment, halal is not just a religious but also a worldwide issue. Contrarily, a large number of MSEs in Indonesia have yet to formally apply for halal certification. This research involved 125 first-year students from Brawijaya University using an accidental sampling-based non-probability sampling technique. Data were collected via a web-based survey and analyzed using scoring analysis, descriptive statistics, and SEM-PLS. Variables in this study include familiarity with halal certification, health concerns, purchase intention, and purchase decision. The results show that intention to purchase halal food items is significantly impacted by health concerns and halal knowledge. In addition, health concerns and purchase intention positively and significantly affect the decision to purchase halal food items.

Abstract

Abstract

Organic vegetables are gaining popularity all over the world, and the number of consumers of organic vegetables is increasing. Developing countries like Indonesia, are still very minimal in consuming organic vegetables. Therefore, this study aims to identify the factors that drive buying behavior of organic vegetables. The research location was conducted in Malang Raya which was selected by purposive sampling and involved 128 respondents who became the research sample. The analytical method uses descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is used to measure the effect of perceptions, preferences, attitudes, subjective norms and control of consumer behavior on purchase intentions and behavior. The results of the analysis show that the behavior of buying organic vegetables is largely determined by preferences and behavioral control through intention and there is a preference role that successfully mediates the relationship between consumer perceptions and intentions. Perceptions, attitudes and subjective norms cannot influence consumer intentions because most consumers and their environment do not have good knowledge so that consumer buying behavior of organic vegetables tends to be based on the control of the dangers. Market players and the government must cooperate with farmers and provide information and promotions regarding the advantages of organic vegetables which are expected to increase actual buying behavior of organic vegetables.

Abstract

Risk is related to uncertainty that has the potential to occur and can have a negative impact on the company if not handled. Risks in the product supply chain have a greater impact on agricultural products. The purpose of this research is to analyze the pameling avocado supply chain system at PT. S, knowing supply chain risk priorities based on fuzzy AHP calculations, and determining pameling avocado supply chain risk mitigation at PT. S for each actor. Respondents were taken by purposive sampling consisting of 3 farmers, 3 middleman, 1 person from the company, namely the marketing general manager, and 1 retailer representative. Pameling avocado supply chain system at PT. S has 2 types of marketing channels, so that supply chain actors consist of 4 actors, namely farmers, middlemen, companies (PT. S), and retailers. Based on the Fuzzy AHP calculation, the priority risk at the farm level is environmental risk, with priority risk indicators being that land conditions do not support growth requirements (too dense soil, lack of nutrients). At the middleman level, the priority risk is price risk, with the priority indicator being the amount of marketing/distribution costs. At the company level, the highest risk priority is quality risk, with product damage priority risk indicators. Then, At the retailers, the highest risk priority is supply risk, with priority risk indicators in the form of uncertainty in the quantity of pameling avocado stock. Risk mitigation is designed using a descriptive analysis method with interview techniques and literature studies.

Abstract

The Bakalan Village Government and the Bojonegoro Regency Agriculture Office in 2023, organized the Integrated Pest Management Field School to educate farmers about environmentally friendly agriculture and more sustainable pest control methods, to increase crop yields and farmer welfare. This study was conducted to analyze the influence of farmer behaviour in SLPHT activities on farmer decisions. Respondents were selected using the Slovin formula calculated by population. The study population was 80 farmers from 4 farmer groups in Bakalan Village. Thus, a research sample of 45 farmers was obtained. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression methods with data processing tools using SPSS. The results explained that farmer knowledge, farmer attitudes and farmer skills influenced farmers' decisions in SLPHT activities. Farmer knowledge is the highest factor or influence in influencing farmers' decisions on SLPHT activities. This research is useful for farmers participating in SLPHT because farmers can continue to apply the farming methods obtained in SLPHT activities and provide information to other farmers, and further guidance needs to be held to determine the sustainability and application of farming methods obtained from SLPHT activities.

Abstract

Objectives: The objective of this research is to compare the influence of each dimension (first-order e-WOM) with its second-order e-WOM. This research also examined how e-WOM can influence tourists' decision behavior and satisfaction in Batu City agrotourism. Methodology: This research was conducted using primary data in 2023. The population in this study consists of 119 respondents who have visited agrotourism in Batu City and obtained information about agrotourism from e-WOM on Social Networking Services. The data was processed using Warp-Partial Least Square (WarpPLS) 8.0.Finding: E-WOM has proven itself as a valuable source of information for tourists visiting agrotourism in the city of Batu. With the help of e-WOM, tourists can obtain more up-to-date insights into the conditions of agrotourism. Agrotourism operators also benefit since they receive free marketing from their tourists. Conclusion: Overall, this research results indicate a contrasting comparison between the first-order e-WOM model and the second-order e-WOM. Only two dimensions of e-WOM, namely the valence of opinion and content, have a direct influence on visitation decisions and tourist satisfaction. Additionally, this study demonstrates that all three dimensions of e-WOM collectively have a significant impact on tourist behavior. Second-order e-WOM has a more substantial impact on tourists in influencing their decisions and satisfaction levels.
