This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning model type TGT assisted by snake and ladder media on energy material in living systems to increase students' creative thinking skills. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental, with the research subjects being class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Limboto. The research design used a one-group pretest-posttest design. Research data on students' initial creative thinking abilities are seen from the characteristics of creative thinking in the form of fluency of 48.3, flexibility of 13.1, and originality of 14.8. After the treatment was given a posttest with the results of each characteristic of the ability to think creatively in the fluency category with a total of 68.8, the flexibility category of 70.7 and the originality category of 33.9. The average N-gain of students' creative thinking abilities in the fluency category is 0.36, flexibility is 0.66, and originality is 0.22. Based on N-Gain, there was an increase in the creative thinking ability of grade VII 4 students of SMP Negeri 1 Limboto, but the increase was in the medium category. Students still have the initial level of creative thinking skills.

Abstract

A teaching module is a learning tool or design based on a curriculum applied to achieve predetermined competency standards. This research aims to use the ADDIE development model to produce a science teaching module based on search, solve, crate and share (SSCS) on valid, practical and effective living things classification concepts. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Molibagu involving 24 students in Class VII C. The study showed that the results of validating the Science Teaching Module (STM) based on SSCS from experts achieved a score of 90%, which was included in the very valid category and suitable for use in learning. The practicality of the STM based on SSCS as shown by the implementation of learning during two meetings with a percentage of 93% and included in the very good category, student response reached 81.2% with very good criteria, and student activity with a percentage of 85.5% with good criteria. The effectiveness of the STM based on SSCS is shown by the results of the analysis of learning outcomes tests by obtaining N-Gain values 0.78 with high criteria. Thus, it is concluded that the concept of STM based on SSCS in the living things classification concept has valid, practical, and effective criteria. The research of STM based on SSCS is expected to be developed in other material concepts.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop a flipped-classroom-based e-module through validity, practicality, and effectiveness test. The method employed in this study is research and development (R&D) with several steps undergone i.e. planning, product development, validity test, revision, and small- and big-scales try-out. The result of this study revealed that the e module had been very valid based on the input given by the content and media experts with approximate score 91.76% to 98.40%. The practicality on teacher’s and students’ activity for the whole meeting reached the approximate score 84.44% to 98.10% which is very practical. Students’ response on the response on the questionnaire reached the highest score as big as 94.07% which was very good. On the effectiveness test, there was an increase on students’ solo taxonomy level. It can be seen from the pre-test which was initially on the pre-structural (59.17%) and uni-structural (40.83%) level elevated to the multi-structural (85%) and relational (12.50%) level during the post-test. The evaluation on the mockup product, the range score on each group is around 83.53 to 90.59 which is very good. It can be concluded that the flipped classroom based e-module had fulfilled the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness to foster students’ thinking skill in SMP Islam Pagimana. Keywords: e-modul, flipped classroom, ecosystem, thinking skills. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i2.pp606-623

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the validity of learning tools based on guided inquiry learning on respiratory system material. Research and development of the ADDIE model were used in this research. This research was limited to the "develop" stage, which was limited to the results of expert validation tests. The learning tools developed include lesson plans (four meetings), student worksheets (four meetings), and tests (a total of six items in the form of essays). Two experts and one practitioner validated the learning tool—analysis by calculating the acquisition score based on the validator's assessment. The findings reveal that the lesson plans, student worksheets, and tests have been proven valid according to validity standards. This research concludes that inquiry-based learning tools are valid based on expert assessment. Thus, learning tools based on guided inquiry are suitable for biology learning in high school, especially material on the respiratory system.

Abstract

This research aims to measure the implementation of meaning learning, activities and students' responses while they are involved in learning. This research is a quantitative type with a total of 24 students as subjects. The subject is a student at a junior high school in Pinolosian District, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency. Data collection used an observation sheet on learning implementation with 23 aspects, observation of student activities with 6 aspects, and a student response questionnaire with 20 questions. Data was analyzed using the percentage of each acquisition score. The research results show that the implementation of learning is good (3.50 – 4.00), good student activities which are dominated by carrying out literacy activities (reading books) to collect answers. Student responses are positive (91.87) and negative (8.13). The research concludes that learning makes sense carried out well, students become active and they respond well to the learning that has been carried out. Meaning learning needs to be implemented in the classroom in order to create an active and enjoyable learning atmosphere.
