Abstract

The estimation of child mortality is very important, especially for the countries with low quality of death registration. The child mortality (IMR (Infant Mortality Rate) and U5MR (Under Five Mortality Rate) will be important to plan, organize, and evaluate the development programs. This study aimed to estimate the child mortality (IMR and U5MR) in urban and rural area of Indonesia. The indirect estimation method with one census period data was used to estimate the child mortality by using the data of: children ever born, children still alive, and number of women in reproductive age. The child mortality declined from 1997 to 2006 in urban and rural area but the child mortality in rural area was higher compared to urban area. The quality of death registration in Indonesia remains low and need to be improved. The estimation of IMR and U5MR in urban were 18 and 27 per 1000 mortality, respectively. On the other hand, the estimation of IMR and U5MR in rural were 24 and 36 per 1000 mortality, respectively. The high gap of characteristics between urban and rural area need to be explored to prevent the increasing number of IMR and U5MR.

Abstract

The knowledge in terms of food security affects the attitude that can influence the practice. A low level of knowledge can increase the prevalence of food-borne disease, especially among children. This study aimed to examine the effect of food security training on increasing knowledge, attitude, and practice. This study retrieved 87 food handlers (intervention=43, control=44) from 60 school canteens in Yogyakarta city, 2018. The quasi-experimental study used a non-equivalent design control group by using pretest and posttest. The given intervention was an interactive speech, presentation, and food security module. The statistical test used in this study were normality tests and independent t test. The majority of respondents for intervention and control groups were female (93% each). A significant increase in knowledge, attitude, and practice has been found after training (p value<0.05). There was no difference in knowledge, attitude, and practice among the control group (p value>0.05). This research finding the intervention effectively increases the knowledge, creates the positive, and increases food handlers and consumers' food security practices in the school. Public health providers should design health programs to conduct practical food security training. It is to be conducted continuously for food handlers in the school canteen. They need to remind them that knowledge is essential. Related stakeholders like schools should also provide adequate sanitation facilities and increasing supervision at the school canteen. PELATIHAN KEAMANAN PANGAN UNTUK PENJAMAH MAKANAN DI KANTIN SEKOLAH DASAR, YOGYAKARTAPengetahuan dalam hal ketahanan pangan memengaruhi sikap yang dapat memengaruhi praktik. Tingkat pengetahuan yang rendah dapat meningkatkan prevalensi penyakit bawaan makanan, terutama pada anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh pelatihan ketahanan pangan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik. Penelitian ini mengambil 87 penjamah makanan (intervensi=43, kontrol=44) dari 60 kantin sekolah di Kota Yogyakarta tahun 2018. Penelitian kuasi eksperimental menggunakan desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen dengan menggunakan pretest dan posttest. Intervensi yang diberikan adalah pidato interaktif, presentasi, dan modul ketahanan pangan. Uji statistik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji normalitas dan uji t independen. Responden kelompok intervensi dan kontrol mayoritas berjenis kelamin perempuan (masing-masing 93%). Peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik ditemukan setelah pelatihan (p<0,05). Tidak ada perbedaan pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik antara kelompok kontrol (p>0,05). Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa intervensi efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, menciptakan sisi positif, dan meningkatkan praktik ketahanan pangan antara penjamah makanan dan konsumen di sekolah. Petugas kesehatan masyarakat harus merancang program kesehatan untuk melakukan pelatihan ketahanan pangan yang efektif untuk dilakukan secara terus menerus bagi penjamah makanan di kantin sekolah, mengingatkan mereka tentang pengetahuan yang diberikan untuk setiap sesi dan pemangku kepentingan terkait seperti sekolah juga harus menyediakan fasilitas sanitasi yang memadai dan meningkatkan pengawasan di kantin sekolah.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPandemi Covid-19 memberikan dampak yang sangat kompleks, baik di bidang ekonomi, pendidikan dan pastinya pariwisata. Penerapan adaptasi kebiasaan baru akan merubah perilaku wisatawan saat berwisata. Peranan pariwisata tidak hanya menyediakan sarana wisata tetapi dilengkapi dengan sarana kuliner. Pengolahan makanan pada masa pandemi covid-19 harus sesuai dengan peraturan yang berlaku, karena makanan yang  dikonsumsi harus memperhatikan keamanan makanan atau food safety termasuk didalamnya di Kawasan wisata. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan praktek penjamah makanan tentang pengelolaan makanan yang aman, bebas kontaminasi sehingga aman dikonsumsi oleh wisatawan. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan secara langsung di lokasi wisata di wilayah Kelurahan Srimartani Piyungan dengan pemberian materi penyuluhan keamanan makanan dibantu dengan media buku, Presentation Power Point serta diskusi. Hasil kegiatan ini didapatkan bahwa 70% penjamah makanan meningkat tingkat pengetahuan terkait keamanan makanan dan 90% penjamah makanan sikap keamanan makanannya mengalami peningkatan. Pelatihan ini harus dilakukan secara konsisten, karena untuk merubah perilaku penjamah makanan membutuhkan waktu dan pendampingan baik dari pemerintah desa maupun instansi terkait. Kata kunci:pandemi; keamanan makanan; pelatihan; wisata. ABSTRACTThe Covid-19 pandemic has had a very complex impact, both in the fields of economy, education, and of course tourism. The application of adaptation of new habits will change the behavior of tourists when traveling. The role of tourism is not only providing tourist facilities but also being equipped with culinary facilities. Food processing during the COVID-19 pandemic must comply with applicable regulations, because the food consumed must pay attention to food safety or food safety, including in tourism areas. This activity aims to increase the knowledge and practice of food handlers regarding safe, contamination-free food-management so that it is safe for consumption by tourists. This training was carried out directly at tourist sites in the Srimartani Piyungan Village area by providing food safety counseling materials assisted by book media, Power Point presentations, and discussions. The results of this activity showed that 70% of food handlers increased their level of knowledge related to food safety and 90% of food handlers' attitudes towards food safety increased. This training must be carried out consistently because changing the behavior of food handlers requires time and assistance from both the village government and related agencies. Keywords: pandemic; food safety; training; tourism.

Abstract

Kondisi sehat seseorang dapat dicapai dengan mengubah perilaku yang tidak sehat menjadi perilaku yang sehat dan menciptakan lingkungan yang sehat. Penerapan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) di lingkungan tempat kerja merupakan salah satu upaya strategis untuk menggerakkan dan memberdayakan pekerja untuk berperilaku hidup bersih dan sehat. Angkringan adalah salah satu tempat makan tradisional yang ada di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu pedagang harus memiliki perilaku kebersihan dan kesehatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat pada pedagang angkringan di Kawasan Malioboro Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional. Sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu pedagang angkringan di Kawasan Malioboro Yogyakarta dengan jumlah 40 pedagang angkringan. teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu Total Sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuesioner. Analisis data yang digunakan analisis univariat dan analisis bivariat dengan uji statistik Chi Square. Hasil uji statistik penelitian dengan menggunakan kuesioner kepada 40 pedagang angkringan, menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 35 pedagang angkringan berjenis kelamin laki-laki yaitu (87,5%), sebanyak 23 pedagang angkringan mayoritas kelompok lansia yaitu (57,5%), sebanyak 21 pedagang angkringan (52,5%) yang memiliki pendidikan rendah. Sebanyak 30 pedagang angkringan (75,5%) yang berpengetahuan rendah, dan sebanyak 36 pedagang angkringan (90,0%) yang memiliki sikap baik. Tidak ada hubungan antara pengetahuan (p = 0,693), sikap (p = 1,000), umur (p = 0,301), dan jenis kelamin (p = 0,149) dengan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS). Ada hubungan antara pendidikan (p = 0,011) dengan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS).

Abstract

The high consumption of bottled water contributes to environmental problems, including water waste and pollution. Environmental problems caused by plastic bottles, waste of drinking water because they are not drunk, soil pollution due to the presence of the water that cannot be decomposed. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with consumption of Bottled Drinking Water (AMDK) in students in terms of practical, health and the environment. This study is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach by conducting an online survey of students from a private university in the city of Yogyakarta to explore the factors associated with the consumption of bottled drinking water. Respondents (N = 156) taken randomly. The results of the study stated that students chose bottled water from the practical side not influenced by gender, study programs, the number of semesters taken, and the amount of pocket money. Consumption of bottled water for health reasons is influenced by the origin of the study program (p-value 0.041) and the number of semesters taken (p-value 0.002). The consumption of bottled water for environmental reasons is influenced by the number of semesters that have been taken (p-value 0.015) and the status of residence in Yogyakarta (p-value 0.035).

Abstract

Ownership of basic sanitation facilities of the house is one of the conditions of a healthy home. Health problems in the home environment can not be separated from the level of knowledge, attitude, income of the head of the family and the number of dependents of the head of the family. It is seen that there are still people who do not have thoughts about the importance of basic sanitation for their lives and there are still many people who do not have basic sanitation facilities. The purpose of this study is to find out the factors related to the ownership of basic household sanitation facilities in Selumar Water Village, Sijuk Subdistrict, Belitung Regency.This study uses observational analytics method with cross sectional approach. The samples in this study numbered 101 samples, using proportional random sampling method. Research instruments are questionnaires and checklists. Data analysis is performed using Chi square test. Bivariate analysis results show there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and the ownership of basic household sanitation facilities p value=0.000, there is a relationship between attitude with the ownership of basic household sanitation facilities p value=0.005, there is a relationship between the level of income and the ownership of basic household sanitation facilities p value=0.000, there is a relationship between the number of family members and the ownership of basic household sanitation facilities p value=0.016. Abstract

Kecamatan Tanjungsari merupakan salah satu kecamatan yang ada di Kabupaten Gunungkidul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dengan luas wilayah 7.161,1 hektar, 5.229 hektar (73,03%) berupa ladang tadah hujan, 1.351.1 (18,86%) berupa tanah tegal dan perkarangan dan 580,5 hektar (8,11%) berupa tanah lainya. Kecamatan Tanjungsari terdiri dari 5 desa, 71 Padukuhan, 71 RW, dan 300 RT. Jumlah penduduk sebanyak 28.788 jiwa terdiri dari 14.267 jiwa laki-laki dan 14.521 jiwa perempuan dengan jumlah kepala keluarga sebanyak 9.000 KK. Secara geografis Kecamatan Tanjungsari berbeda di ketinggian antara 100-300. Desa Hargosari dan Desa Ngestirejo adalah salah satu desa yang termasuk dalam kecamatan Tanjungsari. Permasalahan yang terjadi di Dusun Mendang III, Jambu Dan Jrakah Kecamatan, Tanjungsari, Gunungkidul ini adalah rendahnya pengetahuan melakukan PHBS (Pola Hidup Bersih dan Sehat) dalam menjaga kesehatan tubuh, sikap yang buruk dalam menyikapi pentingnya melakukan PHBS dalam kehidupan sehari-hari untuk mencegah terjadinya suatu penyakit dan prilaku penerapan PHBS di kehidupan sehari-hari. Sehingga untuk meningkatkanya KKN tahun ini mempunyai topik kegiatan tentang meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia menuju Pembudayaan  Hidup Sehat Melalui Gerakan Masyarakat Hidup Sehat (GERMAS) Di Dusun Mendang III, Jambu Dan Jrakah Kecamatan, Tanjungsari, Gunungkidul agar menjadi masyarakat yang sehat dan sadar akan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan dengan menerapkan PHBS. Metode pelaksanaan program KKN tahun 2018 inimeliputi : pendidikan masyarakat, difusi teknologi dan Program. Dampak yang didapat dari hasil kegiatan ini adalah 1). Bertambahnya pengetahuan tentang pentingnya menjaga kesehatan melalui gerakan masyarakat hidup sehat (GERMAS), 2). Meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya kesehatan dan PHBS, 3). Masyarakat dapat menerapkan langsung PHBS dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

The waste problem has social, environmental, and health impacts. This community service aims to handle household waste in Petoyan Hamlet, Giritirto Village, Purwosari District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta. The method of this activity is community diagnosis, village community consultation (MMD), and conducting solutions/interventions with the community. This activity shows that most of the problems found are the management of household waste by the community is burned and buried. Then from the pre-test and post-test results, it was found that some people still do not understand the difference between organic and inorganic waste. Interventions carried out in this activity were the distribution of leaflets and outreach conducted door to door. It is hoped that the local government can provide a waste disposal site (TPS) and a final disposal site (TPA).

Abstract

Nutritional fulfillment is one of the essential factors to prevent the Covid-19 disease. The term balanced nutrition consists of several points: balanced consumption of staple food, the source of protein, fruit, and vegetables, and also drinking an adequate amount of water. Several specific nutrients are also involved in strengthening the immune system, such as vitamin A, C, E, B6, folic acid, zinc, selenium, and iron. The balanced diet practices are affected by nutrition knowledge and further underlined the importance of an educational approach to knowledge improvement of its principles to prevent Covid-19 disease. The intervention conducted through an online meeting platform with a pre-post test was applied to measure the level of knowledge. There were 92 participants in this international event, with the knowledge score improvement was 25% higher than the pre-test mean score. The highest rose was in the vegetables daily intake recommendation and the highest vitamin C source. In conclusion, sustainable educational intervention is important to improve the community’s knowledge about a balanced diet that plays a role in Covid-19 disease prevention.

Abstract

As part of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the Culinary Sector is the sector that has the largest contribution to the National Gross Domestic Product at 32.50%. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the MSME business in the culinary industry showed positive growth with an increase in the number of enterprises and their transactions, especially with the internet-based marketing system (online). However, it still has several problems, such as low nutritional value, safety issues, and the product halalness. Tirtonirmolo, a subdistrict that houses 178 food MSMEs, is also experiencing the same problem with the low number of products certified for their safety and halal status. Educational programs were conducted to increase the knowledge of the household food industry in Tirtonirmolo by the principles of nutrition, food safety, and halalness. Through educational programs, knowledge improvement is carried out through an online meeting platform with three topics: improving nutritional food value, safety, and halal food products. Measurement of the increase in knowledge is done by comparing the results of the pre-test and post-test. The measurement results showed that there was an increase in knowledge scores in three aspects, namely nutrition (9.1 points), food safety (11.4 points), and food halalness (13.1 points), with an average of 11.4 points. From the evaluation results, it was found that most of the participants felt that this activity was valuable and applicable and had expectations for follow-up. This educational program can be designed to be carried out ongoing to obtain a more optimal result of increasing knowledge.
