The Direct Torque Control (DTC) of induction machine has received wide acceptance in many Variable Speed Drive (VSD) applications due to its simple control structure and excellent torque dynamic control performances. However, the conventional DTC which employs a two-level inverter and hysteresis controllers produces two major drawbacks, namely, larger torque ripple and variable switching frequency, which might produce a very high switching frequency (or power loss), particularly at a very low speed operation. This paper highlight the common methods used to provide the constant switching frequency for DTC drives for Induction Motor that able to minimize the power losses and reduced the torque ripple.

The diagnostic analytic type of harmonic source is a vital research due to diagnose and identify type of harmonic source that exist in the power system. This paper presents a comparison of machine learning (ML) algorithm namely as the Naïve Bayes (NB) and linear discriminate analysis (LDA) in identifying and diagnosing the harmonic sources. The MLs inputs are the voltage and current feature sets that estimated from the time-frequency representation (TFR) of S-transform analysis. Four specific cases of harmonic source location are considered in this research, whereas harmonic voltage (HV) and harmonic current (HC) source type-load are used in the diagnosing process. The sufficiency of the proposed methodology is tested and verified on the IEEE 4-bust test feeder, and to prevent overfitting, the K-fold cross-validation technique is implemented for performance evaluation. To identify the best ML, the performance measurement consist of the accuracy, precision, geometric mean, F-measure, sensitivity, and specificity are conducted.

Two types of first-order circuits are resistor-capacitor (RC) and resistorinductor (RL). This paper focuses on the RL circuit equation. The centroidalpolygon (CP) scheme will be tested using SCILAB 6.0 software. This new scheme (CP scheme) is addressed to improve the speed. For the first order circuit equation, the complexity is focused on the time complexity, which is speed of the time taken to complete the simulation in the electrical part. The CP scheme is compared with the previous studies, polygon (P) and harmonic-polygon (HP). The result shows that the CP scheme is less computational and an alternative to solve the first order circuit equation, and get the result quickly compared with the previous research.

With the advent of several new cloud radio access network (C-RAN) technologies, today’s networking environment is dramatically altered and is experiencing a rapid transformation. One of the most important is ethernet based C-RAN, in support of which many products such as optical Ethernet switches have recently appeared on the market. This paper presents the performance analysis of such switches with respect to packet loss ratio (PLR), latency and packet delay variation (PDV). We employed the Simula based on discrete event modelling on Simula (DEMOS), a context class for discrete event simulation to simulate a cut-through optical ethernet switch under two types of traffics: high priority (HP) traffic and low priority (LP) traffic. In this way, the paper evaluates the optical Ethernet switch performance quantitatively. The results obtained from the simulator showed that the high quality of service was reflected on HP traffic and the low quality of service in LP traffic. Hence, HP traffic can be used for transporting radio over ethernet (RoE) traffic while LP traffic can used for transporting time insensitive application. It is also found that HP traffic experiences a PDV equals to the duration of maximum sized LP traffic in Optical Ethernet switch.

A new design of filtenna with electronically reconfigurable band notch for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications is presented. The filtenna is designed based on modified monopole antenna integrated with resonant structure. To produce wider bandwidth with better return loss and higher frequency skirt selectivity, the monopole antenna is modified using microstrip transition in the feedline and block with a triangular-shape slot on each side of the circular patch. The resonant structure is about U-shaped slot defected on the feedline to achieve band notch characteristic. The position of the created band notch is controlled by optimizing the length of the U-shaped slot. By using a PIN diode switch inserted in the U-shaped slot to achieve reconfigurability feature. The experimental results show that the proposed design exhibits a wide bandwidth ranging from 3.0 to 14.0 GHz with reconfigurable band notch at 5.5 GHz (WLAN), and omnidirectional radiation pattern. Therefore, the proposed design is a good candidate for modern UWB applications.

In the modern world, the search started for cheap and efficient operating system sources has begun can converted to civilian ends. Internet of things (IoT) is one of the most realistic applications for remote control and remote management using a wide network. In this paper, a control system is designed and built to manage and control traffic lights and street lighting systems, as well as turning on/off generators in a small virtual environment. This was implemented by designing and building a hybrid electronic circuit that combines the closed-circuit control system and the open circuit system. The closed circuit regulates the system according to the desired condition without operator interaction; while the open circuit operates on demand. This type of a hybrid control system demonstrated its high flexibility by controlling devices and its high efficiency compared to the closed circuit and the open circuit system independently. It also helps reduce the number of maintenance guys and energy consumption as well as the cost

In this paper, a novel microwave sensor with high Q-factor for oil sensing is analyzed and investigated. The new design is based on a gap waveguide cavity resonator (GWCR). To characterize and evaluate the sample, the oil under tested (OUT) is injected into a Teflon tube, which is passing through the microfluidic channel that is located in the middle of the cavity where the electric field concentrates. The results show that the proposed sensor has a high Q-factor of 4832. Moreover, the proposed design has the ability to sense and detect different types of oils with a small variation of permittivities such as Fish oil, Coconut oil, Olive oil, Linseed oil and Castor oil. The permittivity equation is extracted using the polynomial fitting method to define unknown dielectric properties of the OUT. The results show that the evaluated permittivity using the proposed sensor has a good agreement with the ideal permittivity. Therefore, the proposed sensor is a good candidate for oil processing in food industries.

There are many students and researcher who doesn’t really understand the practical operating principle of digital communication system. Hence in this paper, the digital communication system is studied and simulated. In the system kit development text and audio inputs are taken and encrypted with different encryption techniques including additive cipher, multiplicative cipher and affine ciphers. The encrypted data is converted in to an 8-bit binary, channel encoded with distinct channel coding styles like linear block encoder, cyclic encoder and convolutional encoder, line coded and band pass modulated by different digital modulation techniques. Finally, the developed software is tested with equivalent inputs of the current national TV broadcasting and the results found are correct according to the theoretical analysis of the discussion.

Due to the need for the multicast connection required by multimedia applications such as video conferencing and natural disaster management, it was necessary to use a set of portable and connected wireless peripheral devices without the need for infrastructure and without a central router, by use wireless network as "a mobile ad hoc network (MANET) " Despite the difficulties facing this technology in the process of effective guidance and the expansion of the use of such networks, in this type of network because of its applications in the fields of civil and military systems that do not need an infrastructure for the network to provide communication, the researchers specialized in this field have improved the current routing protocols and design new protocols that are appropriate to the challenges that Routing protocols face due to continuous change In network topology over time. In this paper we improved the current routing protocols and design new protocols that are appropriate to the challenges that Routing protocols face due to continuous change In network topology over time. The NS2 simulation environment was used for the purpose of a comprehensive evaluation of the performance of the TORA and AODV routing protocols By using properties of packet delivery fraction and end-to-end delay was calculated.

Medicine is critical to our everyday lives and to the well-being of individuals of all ages and backgrounds. With the beginning of the Corona pandemic and a rise in Corona virus infection cases, the use of medications to prevent and recover from infection has increased, as well as to treat illness consequences, has grown. The effectiveness of medicines is greatly influenced by the expiration date. In this paper, a system for pharmacy or medical store's information storage system was developed and enhanced by automatically monitoring the validity of medications on a periodic basis and sending expiry reports to medicine authorities through e-mail to warn them that a medicine is approaching expiration. The system was also enhanced with internet of thing (IoT) for fast and secure delivery of the medicine validity report.
