This research aimed to develop STEM-integrated Problem-Based Learning e-worksheets to enhance students' communication skills. The research methodology employed was research and development (R&D). The development process followed the instructional design model ADDIE, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Upon conducting research and analysis, the results indicated high satisfaction with the validity of the STEM-integrated problem-based e-worksheets in terms of content and construct. The average content aspect percentage was 88%, while the construct aspect percentage was 87%. The effectiveness of the e-worksheets was demonstrated through N-gain results and paired t-tests, revealing a notable improvement in communication skills. In conclusion, the developed Problem-Based Learning e-worksheets integrated with STEM effectively enhanced students' communication skills. These findings hold significant value for the learning process, particularly in enhancing students' communication skills and providing teachers of physics with additional e-worksheets as valuable learning resources. It is expected that further development of these e-worksheets will contribute significantly to enhancing students' overall communication skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a Moodle-based e-learning platform with a valid, practical, and effective STEM approach to enhance Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The research methodology employed for development purposes was the ADDIE model, consisting of five distinct phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The selection of research subjects for the field trial was conducted through cluster random sampling, wherein experimental and control classes were chosen. The experimental class utilized a Moodle-based e-learning solution for instructional purposes, while the control class adhered to traditional learning methods. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and written tests. The findings indicated that the Moodle-based e-learning products with a STEM approach are effective in enhancing students’ higher-order thinking skills. This was evident from the average n-Gain gain falling in the "medium" category at 0.62 and an effect size also in the "medium" category at 0.43. Student responses to the Moodle-based e-learning were very positive. Based on the research findings, the researcher offers some recommendations. Teachers aiming to utilize this product could enhance its effectiveness by incorporating additional platforms into their learning activities and resources. Additionally, other researchers interested in advancing further studies can introduce problem-solving activities to stimulate higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in everyday situations. In conclusion, the Moodle-based STEM e-learning product is effective in enhancing students' HOTS.

Abstract

This research aimed to examine Sains, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) learning approach effectivity in increasing scientific literacy of senior high school students. The research involved 67Senior High School 5 students Bandar Lampung in Lampung Province, Indonesia. The research design used was the-Equivalent Control Group Pretest and Posttest Design. The experimental class used STEM Learning Approach, and the control class used a scientific approach. The data was collected using pretest and posttest score of scientific literacy inventory. The Effectiveness analysis was done using the Normalized Gain (N–Gain) and Effect Size. Based on the research, the average score of the scientific literacy skill with N-gain of experimental classes was 0.55 and control class was 0.49, both classes were in medium category achievement. The result of effect size test showed that STEM learning approach has an effect size in the medium category of 0.24. Furthermore, based on an analysis of T-test results, there was a difference between the N-gain average score of the students' scientific literacy skill between experimental class and control class. The students who learned with STEM learning approach has a significantly higher degree of scientific literacy skill than those who learned with the scientific approach. So the conclusion in this research is that the students taught using the STEM approach are in the "conceptual" category which is better in explaining the concept, able to describe the relationship between these concepts, and able to analyze alternative solutions and procedural skills and understanding of the process of discovering science and technology.

Abstract

The use of mobile phones for learning is still becoming a debate in Indonesia. Many schools forbid their students to bring mobile phones to school. This study was aimed to describe the perceptions of physics teachers in Lampung Province regarding the use of mobile phones to study physics. Data was collected from 39 physics teachers from various districts in Lampung Province. The Likert scale with a range of 1 to 5 was used. Descriptive quantitative data analysis was carried out. The results showed that most teachers agree /strongly agree: (1) to utilize mobile phones in learning physics both inside and outside of the classroom, (2) the tendency of students to use mobile phones make the physics learning process efficient. It could strengthen and improve the quality of the learning process. Almost all physics teachers agree /strongly agree with mobile phones usage, because: (1) it could turn the learning process from teacher-centered into student-centered and from content-oriented learning to process-oriented learning, (2) it could improve efficiency and productivity in the learning process. However, they agreed that the use of mobile phones by students could not replace the teacher's role, so physics teachers needed a more sophisticated concept of cellular learning to be implemented

The E-worksheet developed to stimulate students' science process skills was developed using the Flip PDF Professional application. This study employed Design and Development Research (DDR), which consisted of four stages: analysis, design, development, and evaluation. This ethnoscience-based E-worksheet contains material and practical guidance using Gamolan to investigate the sound waves topic with science process skills indicators, namely observing, formulating problems, formulating hypotheses, determining variables, collecting, processing, and concluding data. The E-worksheet was declared highly valid, with an average score of 3.6. Based on the analysis, the ethnoscience-based E-worksheet can be used to teach sound waves for the second semester of eleventh-grade high school students. The E-worksheet obtained a percentage of 93% in the very practical category based on the practical test by students and teachers. The students commented that the E-worksheet is appropriate for classroom learning, is interesting to read, and is equipped with videos that helped them in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the practicality of developing an inquiry-based STEM-integrated electronic student worksheet to stimulate creative thinking and collaborative skills in kinetic gas theory. The electronic student worksheet was created using a development and research model adopted by Borg and Gall, and it was limited to seven steps. Data collection techniques involved direct observation, questionnaires, and surveys. The findings from this study indicate that the inquiry-based STEM-integrated electronic student worksheet is practical for learners to use in enhancing their creative thinking and collaborative skills on kinetic gas theory. Furthermore, the tests’ results categorized it as highly practical, suggesting that this electronic student worksheet can be used as teaching material to further train learners' creative thinking and collaborative skills in kinetic gas theory.

Abstract

In recent years, the flipped classroom and STEM learning approach has become one of the interesting studies in Education. Various researches were conducted to determine their impact on learning. This research is a descriptive survey conducted to determine the needs of teachers and students about e-module with the STEM integrated flipped classroom. Data were collected using a questionnaire with 15 respondents who work as physics teachers in Lampung Province and 30 respondents from grade XI students in one of the high schools in Bandar Lampung. Based on the survey results, we concluded that (1) 86% of physics teachers stated that they needed a STEM-integrated flipped classroom e-module, and (2) 78% of students stated that they were interested in learning by using a STEM-integrated flipped classroom e-module. So it is clear that physics teachers and students in Lampung need e-modules with a flipped classroom approach and integrated STEM.
