Abstract

Commodities of palm oil play a strategic role in the Indonesia’s economy. In this study we concern on the competitiveness of Indonesia’s Crude Palm Oil (CPO) industry and effectiveness of the potential market for Indonesia’s CPO in Uni Europe (UE). The utilization of CPO as biofuels, encouraging an significant increased of demand for CPO in UE. This study is also addressed to determine the Indonesian CPO performance among other palm oil producer country. We used the revealed comparative advantage (RCA) and market share index (MSI) methods in analysing the competitiveness level. Our results showed, in 2014, export performance of Indonesia’s CPO increased. It was showed by the value of RCA 1. Indonesia has competitiveness of CPO, because of the increased export volume of CPO and it’s derivates product to the major importer countries, such as UE. However, the average of RCA analysis in 2007-2014 indicate the lower performanceof Indonesia’s CPO exports compared to the other main CPO exporter, Malaysia. Thus, from the MSI analysis we found that Italy is a potential market for Indonesia’s palm oil exports, based on the fact that Indonesia’s CPO dominated the Italian market in the last seven years. The value of Indonesia’s market share was far above the competitor.

Abstract

Automatic License Plate Recognition is related to the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) that supports the road's e-law enforcement system. In the case of the Indonesian license plate, with various colour rules for font and background, and sometimes vehicle owners modify their license plate font format, this is a challenge in the image processing approach. This research utilizes pre-trained of AlexNet, VGGNet, and ResNet to determine the optimum model of Indonesian character license plate recognition. Three pre-trained approaches in CNN-based detection for reducing time for a build if model from scratch. The experiment shows that using the pre-trained ResNet model gives a better result than another two approaches. The optimum results were obtained at epoch 50 with an accuracy of 99.9% and computation time of 26 minutes. This experiment results fulfil the goal of this research. Abstract

: The integration of technology in various sectors, beyond its common application in the gaming industry, has extended to the field of education. This evolution mandates parallel progress in academic institutions to keep pace with technological developments. A significant challenge identified was the reliance on manual accounting methods at SMAN 1 Kejobong, which includes teacher management, staff, and assistant administration, as well as processing student learning data. Outdated practices often lead to inaccuracies and inefficiencies, resulting in time-consuming data collection and potential losses for all stakeholders. To overcome this problem, it is proposed to implement a comprehensive information system or e-learning platform. However, the implementation of e-learning in educational institutions often encounters obstacles due to user discomfort or incompatibility with the institution's needs. This study validated all system features through Black box Testing and user satisfaction assessments, resulting in an average satisfaction level of 73.7%. The expected outcome is increased efficiency and accuracy in academic processes and student management, thereby facilitating a more effective learning and teaching environment.

Abstract

Identification of road profiles is needed to provide the input of automotive simulation and endurance testing. The analysis with estimation methods is mostly done to identify road profiles. The main goal of analysis methods is to obtain the data of vertical displacements due to road profile measurement. The acceleration data is obtained from measuring road profile by using 4 sensors of accelerometer placed on each car wheel. The measuring data is converted to be vertical displacement data by using a "double integrator", however, it is not easy to get accurate results since the signal obtained carries a lot of noise and it is necessary to design the right filter reduce the noise. In this study, the signal filtering methods reducing the noise were used Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Kalman Filter (KF) combination. Experiments were carried out by combining Fast Fourier Transform and Kalman Filters using an input signal with unit (volt) in the time domain. In addition, this research focused on preparing the survey data that has been obtained by eliminating the noise to convert becoming the displacement input data for providing the loads of automotive simulation testing.

Abstract

Forests are an area and part of the environmental cycle that is very important for survival because forests are areas on Earth that regulate the balance of the ecosystem. Forest fires rank second only to illegal logging in Indonesia's list of forest destruction causes. Forest fires can occur due to two factors, namely natural and human factors. Therefore, the hotspot factor that can cause forest fires is an independent variable. The population of hotspots in the West Kalimantan region in 2020 amounted to 1,416 spots. This study aims to predict the number of hotspot occurrences on land and forests that cause fires before the fires spread and are challenging to overcome or extinguish. The method to indicate the number of hotspot occurrences uses the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) and Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA) methods. Modeling ARIMA (0,1,1) and SARIMA (0,1,1) (2,2,1)12 obtained Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) evaluation results for ARIMA of 6.61 while SARIMA of 7.61. The ARIMA's Mean Squared Error (MSE) evaluation value is 43.70, and the SARIMA is 58.05. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the ARIMA model provides excellent and accurate performance in describing the trend of hotspot events that will occur in the future with a smaller RMSE value compared to SARIMA.
