Abstract

Golden apple snail (Pomaceacanaliculata) became major pest of rice found in MijenSemarang, used as amino acid organic liquid fertilizer (pocamino) because has high protein and low fat. This study of potential and local problems, can be utilized as source of contextual teaching materials to provide real learning experience for students. The teaching materials developed became booklet, containsbrief explanation, systematic and equipped with pictures/illustrations. The aims of this research are, to describe development of booklet based on the study of potential and local problems as teaching material supplement of fertilizing at SMK Pertanian and analyze feasibility of booklet. This research and development begins with field research on processing golden apple snail into pocamino. Data collected are environmental and school requirement analysis, pocamino content and application data, booklet feasibility by expert and user assessment, with validation sheet. Results showed that pocamino contain N, P, K nutrients and amino acids with varying levels. Abstract

Jepara Regency has very large marine resources. Various species of fish including pelagic and demersal are a local potential that can be empowered as a source of science learning in the form of handout based on discovery learning. The use of discovery-based handout is expected to be able to improve cognitive learning outcomes and science process skills. This research is a development research specifically One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. As many as 18 species were obtained at the fish auction in Ujungbatu Jepara. The validation of subject-matter experts on the content of the handout was good and very good on language aspect. Assessment on language experts, media size, design and content was in a very good category. The effectiveness of handouts from N-Gain result was obtained an average score of 0.4 which was in the medium category. While science process skills gained an average score of 81% in the good category. The practicality of the handouts was derived from student responses.  An aspect called significance was considered very good. Other aspects such as ease understanding, learning interes and presentation were good. While students’ enthusiasm was in good enough category. The practicality of the handouts from teacher responses include some aspects in terms of ease understanding, students’ enthusiasm, learning interest, presentation and the significance were in a very god category. It can be concluded that the use of discovery-based handout in learning Pisces material is effective and practical to improve students’ cognitive learning outcomes and science process skills both individually and classical.

Abstract

Biology subjects in Pharmacy Vocational High Schools are not yet integrated with pharmacy subjects even though biology subjects have a close relationship with pharmacy fields related to organs and medicines in the human digestive system. This research aims to analyze the science process skills and learning outcomes in the inquiry learning model with a mini research strategy as a supporting of pharmacy science in Vocational High Schools. This research uses quasy experiment research with pretest posttest control group design. Analysis of learning outcomes using the independent sample t-test, N-Gain test, and N-Gain t-test to see differences in the value of learning outcomes between the control class and the experimental class. Analysis of science process skills uses the average score of observations of science process skills. To see whether the research can supporting Vocational Pharmacy Science is analyzed using descriptive analysis of interviews with vocational productive teachers. The result of the value of learning outcomes get data that the value of learning outcomes of the experimental class is better than the control class, while the science process skills of students in the experimental class are better than the control class. Descriptive analysis of interview productive teacher shows that this study can be used as a supported of pharmacy science in Vocational High Schools. Analysis of the value of student learning outcomes, science process skills and Interview productive teacher shows that inquiry learning models with mini research strategies can support subjects related to pharmacy.

Abstract

This study aims to develop supplemental CTL-based respiratory system teaching materials to train students' biological literacy skills. The quality of teaching material supplements is measured by the criteria of the characteristics of teaching material supplements, validity, readability and effectiveness of teaching material supplements when used in the learning process. The characteristics of teaching material supplements consist of 7 activities, namely Constructivism, Inquiry, Questioning, Learning community, Reflection, Authentic assessment. The validation of teaching material supplements was assessed by material experts and media experts. The results showed that the percentage of validity of teaching material supplements by material experts was 88.1% with very valid criteria and the mean validity by media experts was 96% with very valid criteria. The legibility of teaching material supplements was analyzed based on the readability questionnaire data for teachers and students after the trial was carried out at SMA Negeri 7 Cirebon City. The results of the teacher readability questionnaire were 87.7% very good criteria and 85.5% very good criteria for student readability. The effectiveness of teaching material supplements in training biological literacy skills was tested using the N-gain test obtained from the results of the pretest and posttest questions based on biological literacy. The mean value of the pretest is 48.15 and the posttest is 77.04. Biological literacy N-test gain with an average of 0.56 in the medium category. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the developed teaching material supplements meet the criteria of characteristics, validity, readability and effectiveness and can train biological literacy skills.

Abstract

The development of teaching supplements based on research results regarding the dangers of vaping needs to be conducted considering that there is no integration regarding the dangers of vaping in biology subjects. Students need to improve information about the dangers of vaping through scientific literacy. The data collection techniques in this study consisted of a questionnaire. Through the data collection, the instruments needed in this study include validation sheets of material experts and media experts. The data were analyzed quantitatively to determine the category of validity and deepened by qualitative analysis. Based on the results of expert validation, research-based teaching supplements regarding the dangers of vaping were generally very valid with the average validation score of the two validators being 94.45%. The material contained in the teaching supplement was also adapted to current scientific developments related to the dangers of vaping by following scientific literacy indicators. The effectiveness of teaching supplements was determined based on the N-Gain value, the N-Gain value obtained was 0.76 which is in the High category
