Abstract

Oral hygiene is one of the actions needed to keep the mouth from infection, clean and freshen the mouth. Awareness of maintaining dental and oral hygiene is very necessary as an effort to prevent dental and oral health problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between behavior and oral hygiene in fifth grade students at SDN Alue, Aceh Besar District. The research used is an analytical method with a cross sectional study design approach. The population in this study were all fifth graders at SDN Alue, totaling 40 respondents. The analysis carried out is univariate and bivariate analysis using chi-square statistical test. The results showed that from 40 respondents, it was found that knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance in the poor category was 21 respondents (52.5%), attitudes in the poor category were 23 respondents (57.5%), actions in the poor category were 25 respondents (62.5%). Dental and oral health maintenance behavior as knowledge (P=0.001), attitude (P=0.001) and action (P=0.002). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between dental and oral health maintenance behavior with oral hygiene in fifth grade students at SDN Alue, Aceh Besar District. It is recommended for students to improve their behavior in maintaining their own oral and dental health.

Abstract

Socioeconomic status is one of the factors that affect the health status of the community or family. The economic level of a family will have a major influence on the sustainability of family members, both from the level of education and health. High socio-economic groups of people can access health services and take care of their family's health properly, on the contrary, people who are in low socio-economic groups tend to give priority to fulfilling their needs. daily needs rather than thinking about maintaining health and getting good health services. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between economic status and motivation for dental treatment in the New Normal Era in Sukarami Village, RT.03 Method: This research is an analytical survey research with a cross-sectional approach using a simple random sampling technique, carried out in February March 2022, The community of RT 03 in Sukarami sub-district as many as 100 people, the data were analyzed using the chi-square test. Results: In the univariate test, 41 respondents (41.0%) had a high economic status, a little compared to 59 (59.0%) respondents who had a low economic status. Meanwhile, 48 people had high motivation for dental treatment (48). %) is less than respondents who have low motivation as many as 52 people (52.09%). In the statistical test, the P-value = 0.000 <0.05 means that there is a significant relationship between economic status and motivation for dental treatment. dental treatment in the new normal era

Abstract

Family dental and oral health care is an effective approach to improving dental health. Family dental care with a pick-up strategy motivates the willingness or will to carry out activities toward positive family dental health actions. Community service aims to empower family independence through dental care innovations in improving dental hygiene status in Banda Aceh City. This community service is carried out with a descriptive method, with the target of children and their mothers as respondents. Data analysis used univariate analysis. The intervention provided was in the form of problem-based counseling, measuring the dental hygiene status of children, and demonstration of dental procedures. The result of community service is that there is an increase in knowledge, attitudes, and practices of mothers (pre-test, post-test I, post-test II) in maintaining oral and dental health with the application of dental care. There is a change towards a better dental and oral hygiene status of children with the application of dental care from pre-test, post-test I, and post-test II. It is recommended the public health services make a UKGM program using a dental nursing care pattern with home visit services in improving the dental and oral health of the family.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan di Taman Kanak-Kanak Mahadul Islami, Ampang Gadang, Kabupaten Agam, Sumatera Barat, berfokus pada peningkatan kesehatan gigi dan mulut anak-anak prasekolah melalui penggunaan buah naga merah (Hylocereus costaricencis). Kurangnya kesadaran dan pengetahuan orang tua tentang kesehatan gigi serta keterbatasan akses terhadap produk kesehatan gigi menjadi faktor penyebab tingginya kasus ini. Program ini memperkenalkan metode alternatif, yakni mengunyah buah naga merah, yang kaya antioksidan dan serat, untuk membantu mencegah penumpukan plak gigi pada anak-anak. Melalui edukasi kepada orang tua dan pendidik, serta penerapan kebiasaan ini dalam rutinitas sehari-hari, program bertujuan untuk menurunkan skor plak dan meningkatkan kesadaran tentang pentingnya kesehatan mulut sejak dini. Hasil dari program ini mencatat adanya penurunan signifikan dalam plak gigi pada anak-anak yang mengikuti intervensi, serta peningkatan pengetahuan di kalangan orang tua dan pendidik tentang pentingnya menjaga kebersihan gigi dan mulut. Abstract

The growing digitalization of educational administration has established Management Information Systems (MIS) as vital instruments for enhancing school administration and facilitating decisions based on data. Despite its strategic importance, empirical data regarding the use of Management Information Systems in elementary education—especially in limited financial settings—remains uncommon. This study examines the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Management Information Systems (MIS) in SD Negeri 20 Kuta Makmur, a public primary school located in North Aceh Regency, employing a qualitative case study methodology, data were gathered via semi-structured interviews with school leaders, educators, and administrative personnel, supplemented by observations and document analysis. The results reveal that although the school exhibits a robust dedication to digital transformation, the efficacy of MIS implementation is hindered by insufficient infrastructure, restricted budgetary resources, and disparate digital competences among staff. Nonetheless, the technology has enhanced administrative coordination, data accessibility, and internal communication. The research indicates that effective MIS implementation relies on both technology preparedness and organizational elements, such as leadership dedication, well-defined operating protocols, and a conducive institutional culture. Without these enabling conditions, the transformational potential of digital technologies is only partially actualized. This research enhances the literature on educational digitalization by offering empirical observations from a primary school setting and presents practical implications for bolstering institutional capacity and governance in basic education via sustainable information system adoption

Abstract

Karies gigi merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang paling umum dijumpai pada anak-anak usia sekolah, terutama akibat rendahnya kesadaran akan pentingnya menjaga kebersihan gigi serta kurangnya pengetahuan mengenai teknik menyikat gigi yang benar. Berdasarkan observasi awal di SDN 12 Kecamatan Baiturrahman, ditemukan bahwa lebih dari 60% siswa belum memahami cara menyikat gigi yang baik dan benar, serta belum mengetahui waktu yang tepat untuk menyikat gigi. Kondisi ini meningkatkan risiko terjadinya karies gigi sejak dini, yang apabila tidak ditangani dapat berdampak pada kesehatan umum dan prestasi belajar anak.Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan siswa dalam menjaga kebersihan gigi melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan menyikat gigi yang benar. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu: (1) penyuluhan interaktif yang mengedukasi siswa tentang pentingnya kesehatan gigi dan mulut serta dampak karies, menggunakan media audiovisual yang menarik; (2) pelatihan praktik menyikat gigi secara langsung menggunakan model gigi dan sikat gigi dengan teknik Fones yang telah disesuaikan untuk anak usia sekolah dasar; dan (3) evaluasi hasil kegiatan melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk menilai peningkatan pengetahuan, serta observasi keterampilan menyikat gigi.Kegiatan ini melibatkan 80 siswa kelas I hingga III dan berlangsung dengan antusiasme tinggi dari para peserta. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor pengetahuan rata-rata sebesar 35% setelah penyuluhan, serta 90% siswa mampu mempraktikkan teknik menyikat gigi dengan benar. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa intervensi edukatif berbasis praktik langsung sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan kebiasaan sehat sejak dini. Keberhasilan program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model kegiatan serupa di sekolah dasar lainnya dalam rangka pencegahan karies secara berkelanjutan.
