Abstract

This Citizenship Education learning is still conventional, or teacher centre, so it can cause problems faced by teachers such as class conditions where students feel bored and crowded during learning, student motivation during learning is low which can result in students' lack of understanding when working on questions. Puppet Image Media is a suitable medium for solving learning problems, students are more enthusiastic when learning and also understand learning more easily. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of wayang image media on students' motivation and understanding in PPKN class 2 UPTD SD Tengket 1 Arosbaya subjects. The research method used is quantitative using the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design type. The results of the research show that wayang image media has a significant effect on students' motivation and understanding based on the results of the first test analysis, namely the paired sample t-test with sig values. of 0.000 < 0.05 for motivation, while for understanding the value of sig. equal to 0.000 < 0.05. Next, the second test is the Manova test with a sig value. equal to 0.000 < 0.05. So there is a simultaneous influence of wayang image media on motivation and understanding.

Abstract

Zakat, which should be a strategic instrument of social justice, is often still positioned as short-term charitable assistance rather than transformative socio-economic capital. This study proposes an understanding of productive zakat not only as an Islamic economic instrument but also as a welfare policy practice with broad implications for the configuration of social justice in Indonesian urban spaces. This study uses a non-empirical qualitative method, with a critical literature review and an integrative conceptual analysis. The results indicate that productive zakat in Indonesia will be truly meaningful only if it does not stop at mere religious jargon or a financial redistribution mechanism, but becomes a social movement that upholds structural justice in a capitalist, unequal urban ecosystem. Zakat must transcend its role as an aid and function as an agent of change that challenges the roots of poverty, reorganises the power relations between muzakki, amil, and mustahik, and restores the spirit of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah as an ethical energy for the liberation of humans from dependence and injustice. The success of productive zakat, therefore, is not measured by the number of program success reports or nominal increases in funds, but by the courage of zakat institutions to position themselves as a space for moral resistance against an economic system that breeds inequality by proving that Islamic spirituality not only teaches compassion, but also solidarity with those who are most marginalised in the city.

Abstract

In a convert-dominant Muslim community surrounded by a Christian majority in rural East Java, Indonesia, organic vegetable farmers face two intersecting challenges: low economic value from unprocessed produce and weak religious mentoring due to economic pressures. This community empowerment study aimed to integrate halal nutraceutical product training with Islamic religious mentoring to enhance both entrepreneurial skills and religious participation among 10 female farmers from the "Ngudi Rahayu" organic farming group. Using a group-based participatory action research design over three months (June–August 2021), the intervention included socialization, production training for organic vegetable chips, packaging and marketing under Islamic principles, and weekly religious mentoring. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with community and religious leaders, and documentation of program outputs. Results showed that all 10 participants developed entrepreneurial competencies, successfully produced halal-certifiable vegetable chips, and actively engaged in religious activities with support from local mosque leaders and the district office of religious affairs. Stakeholders, including the village head and youth organization leader, reported high enthusiasm and perceived improvements in both economic and religious resilience. The study concludes that simultaneously addressing economic and religious needs is feasible and effective for convert communities. The implication is a novel integrative empowerment model the Halal Empowerment Model for Convert Communities (HEMCC)—that combines halal nutraceutical entrepreneurship with sustained religious mentoring. This model offers a replicable framework for community development programs in minority-religion contexts.

Abstract

This community service initiative aims to strengthen religious moderation through the revitalization of reciting Ratibul Haddad among young Islamic students (santri) at the Kedungrejo Village Musholla in Muncar District. The method employed is Participatory Action Research (PAR), integrated with an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, to optimize existing local spiritual assets such as the ratiban tradition and the Nahdlatul Ulama institutional framework. The program involved 28 santri in a series of activities, ranging from participatory observation, collaborative planning, regular mentoring, to evaluative reflection. The results indicate significant improvement in three key aspects: (1) Cognitive-Spiritual, reflected in enhanced reading ability and comprehension of the meanings within Ratibul Haddad; (2) Affective-Emotional, characterized by the growth of inner peace, discipline, and religious enthusiasm; and (3) Social-Communal, marked by strengthened group cohesion and the musholla's enhanced role as a central hub for mentorship. This activity successfully instilled a new, sustainable habit, supported by the establishment of peer educators and the commitment of the musholla's management. It is concluded that a participatory approach based on local assets is effective not only for transferring religious knowledge but also as a concrete strategy in building the foundations of religious moderation and the religious character of the younger generation from an early age.

Abstract

This study examines the level and gap of Merdeka Curriculum implementation in elementary schools located in remote areas of Maluku, Indonesia, using the Fidelity of Implementation (FOI) framework. A quantitative descriptive-comparative design with a cross-sectional survey was employed. The study involved 129 teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics and gap analysis to identify discrepancies between ideal and actual implementation. The findings reveal that all dimensions of implementation are at a moderate level, with mean scores ranging from 3.26 to 3.44 (out of 5) and implementation gaps between 31.2% and 34.8%. The dimensions of quality of delivery and program differentiation demonstrate relatively higher performance, indicating teachers’ adaptive capacity in sustaining instructional quality and applying core curriculum principles. In contrast, adherence, dosage, and participant responsiveness show larger gaps, highlighting challenges in maintaining implementation consistency, instructional intensity, and student engagement. These results underscore that curriculum implementation in remote contexts is shaped not only by program design but also by contextual constraints, including limited resources, geographical isolation, and variations in student readiness. Future studies are recommended to employ mixed-method approaches and longitudinal designs to better capture the dynamics of curriculum implementation across different contexts.
