Abstract

The Merdeka Mengajar platform is a strategic initiative of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia, aimed at enhancing teacher competencies through self-directed learning and reflective assessment. Two key features of this platform, Independent Training (Pelatihan Mandiri) and Competency Reflection (Refleksi Kompetensi, Refkom), are designed to support teachers’ professional development in a flexible and needs-based manner. This study examines the influence of Independent Training completion and Refkom scores on elementary students’ performance in the 2023 National Assessment (Asesmen Nasional), covering literacy, numeracy, and character domains. The research population comprises elementary school teachers who participated in online Independent Training programs in 2022. Data were analyzed using linear regression, with school accreditation status included as a control variable. The results indicate that students taught by teachers who completed the Independent Training achieved significantly higher literacy and numeracy scores. Teachers’ Refkom scores also had a positive effect on students’ numeracy outcomes, although the relationship was not significant for character development. These findings suggest that strengthening teacher competencies through Independent Training and Refkom contributes meaningfully to improving the quality of student learning.

Abstract

Di era teknologi digital, seorang guru harus mampu merancang media pembelajaran yang inovatif dalam pembelajaran IPS agar tidak monoton, sehingga pembelajaran dapat berjalan secara efektivitas, efisiensi dan produktivitas. Namun masih banyak guru yang belum memanfaatkan IT dalam merancang media pembelajaran sehingga dalam pembelajaran siswa cenderung merasa bosan untuk mendengarkan penjelasan dari guru. Salah satu solusi yang dapat diterapkan adalah dengan menggunakan QR Code sebagai media pembelajaran.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dampak penggunaan media QR Code pada pembelajaran IPS di Sekolah Dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah random. Subjek penelitian yaitu 30 siswa kelas V di Sekolah Dasar. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, penggunaan media pembelajaran QR Code sangat dibutuhkan, terutama untuk menunjang pembelajaran IPS yang bersifat abstrak. Dengan QR Code sebagai media pembelajaran membuat siswa menjadi lebih aktif dan kreatif, meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan meningkatkan hasil belajar.

Abstract

This article discusses teachers' perspectives on project-based learning to improve students' critical thinking skills. This project-based learning model can improve students' problem-solving thinking through project-based experience and students' direct understanding. In fact, this study contributes to the existing literature, refines the study model, and overcomes key challenges in its implementation. Indeed, this study aims to provide valuable insights into how project-based learning can be used to improve critical thinking skills in primary schools. From a professional perspective, it is hoped that this study can inspire and motivate teachers to implement project-based learning programs to improve students' critical thinking ability. A total of 53 participants agreed that the project-based learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills.
