Abstract

Butterfly pea flowers (Clitoria ternatea (L.)) and gotu kola (Centella asiatica (L.)) contain phenolic compounds. The phenolic compounds in butterfly pea flowers are anthocyanins, while in gotu kola, there are flavonoids and tannins. Butterfly flower extract and gotu kola extract have certain concentrations of SPF values in the maximum category. This research aimed to determine the results of the irritation test of sunscreen stick preparations of butterfly pea flower extract (Clitoria ternatea (L.)) and gotu kola (Centella Asiatica (L.)). This research uses an experimental approach with a true experimental design. Stick preparations are divided into formulations with a combination of active ingredients of butterfly pea flower (Clitoria ternatea (L.)) at a concentration of 2% or 3%, and gotu kola extract (Centella asiatica (L.)) at a concentration of 7% or 8%. The optimal formulation of the preparation is adjusted to the evaluation results and specified requirements. The research showed that sunscreen sticks with two different formulations were applied to the skin 2.5 cm wide and then left for 1 hour to determine whether the skin began to show signs of irritation, such as redness, swelling, or itching. This irritation test was carried out on 20 volunteers, then observed for 3 days, and showed that the formulation of 2 sunscreen stick preparations did not irritate

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of English teachers' professionalism in integrating interactive media in learning and to identify the factors that influence its implementation in schools. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, involving a sample of 50 English teachers from various education levels. The research instrument consisted of a Likert-scale questionnaire that measured aspects of teacher professionalism, frequency of interactive media use, and supporting or inhibiting factors. The results showed that the overall mean score for teacher professionalism was 3.65 with a standard deviation of 0.90. The highest score was found in the student engagement indicator (mean = 3.80; SD = 0.97), and the lowest was in the frequency of media use (mean = 3.42; SD = 0.86). Regarding factors influencing media use, the highest mean scores were in perceived learning effectiveness (mean = 4.28; SD = 0.78), student interest (mean = 4.24; SD = 0.87), and teachers' motivation for self-development (mean = 4.20; SD = 0.95). Meanwhile, training support from schools showed the lowest score (mean = 3.98; SD = 1.06), indicating the need for stronger institutional support. In conclusion, while teachers show a positive attitude toward interactive media, its optimal integration is still limited by training, facilities, and time management constraints.‎   Keywords:‎ Teacher Professionalism, Interactive Media, English Language Learning

Abstract

The problem raised in this study is related to the low learning outcomes of students, which is partly caused by the lack of enthusiasm and involvement of students in the learning process. This condition indicates the need for the application of a learning approach that is more interesting and in accordance with the characteristics of students at the elementary school level. This study aims to analyze the effect of using the game-based learning model assisted by the Educandy platform on the learning outcomes of Social Science (IPS) grade IV students at SD Negeri 138 Pekanbaru. The approach used is quantitative with pseudo experimental method with quasi experimental design with purposive sampling technique. The research sample consisted of 35 experimental group students and 33 control group students. Data collection in the study was carried out with multiple choice test questions as many as 22 items and analyzed using an independent sample test with the help of SPSS 25. Based on the results of the independent sample t-test, the average posttest value of the experimental class was 82.23 with a standard deviation of 12.317, while the control class had an average of 75.76 with a standard deviation of 14.013. This shows that the experimental class obtained higher learning outcomes compared to the control class. The significance test shows a p-value of 0.047, which is smaller than α = 0.05 (p < 0.05), so H₀ is rejected and Hₐ is accepted. This result is supported by the comparison of the tcount and ttable values, where the tcount of 2.025 is greater than the ttable of 1.668 (tcount > ttable). Thus, it can be concluded that the game-based learning model assisted by the Educandy platform has a significant effect on students' cognitive learning outcomes in social studies subjects.
