Abstract

The background of this research is an emerging problem in the field of education in Indonesia. One of the problems is the occurrence of moral irregularities among students which results in the moral decline of the nation. At the level of early childhood education, character education is a way that can be implemented to overcome these problems. One way is to implement various traditional games. This study aims to explain the implementation of character education based on traditional games, the process of internalizing character values based on traditional games, and the possibility of applying traditional games as a character education model. This is a qualitative research conducted in three Kindergartens IN Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta; each with a background of Islam, State and Christianity. The primary data of this study were sourced from the results of interviews with informants. The secondary data were in the form of policies, values, school views, and parents functioning further to strengthen the data and as a means of character education configuration based on traditional games in the context of micro systems. The data were analyzed through several stages, namely (1) display of observation and interview results; (2) sorting out observations and interviews; (3) discovery of contrasting or negative elements. The results of this study show that (1) The implementation of character education based on traditional games in the three kindergartens is different from one another; (2) character values are internalized through several traditional games, namely gobag sodor, cublak-cublak suweng, dakon, jamuran, and engklek or sundamanda; (3) Character education based on workable traditional games becomes a character education model in kindergarten.

Abstract

Education at SMA Kolese Loyola (Loyola College High School) Semarang implements student coaching based on honest character, discipline, independence, hard work, and responsibilities that are in accordance with the school's vision. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design; the process is through data collection using observation and interview techniques. The focus of the research conducted in SMA Kolese Loyola Semarang were (1) finding character-based student development strategic planning; (2) analyzing the implementation of student coaching based on honest, discipline, independent, hard work, and responsibility characters, (3) analyzing the control of the implementation of character-based student coaching. This study found that SMA Kolese Loyola Semarang (1) carried out strategic planning for character-based student development; (2) face obstacles in strategic planning from inside and outside the school. Barriers from within the school are faced through agreements with parents of students, barriers from outside the school are faced through adjusting the implementation of strategic plans for character-based student development in schools; (3) controlling character-based student development activities. The conclusions of the study were that the character-based student planning strategic planning at SMA Kolese Loyola Semarang was a combination of reflection-action experience; interactions between students in school form a person who is characterized by honesty, discipline, independence, hard work, and responsibility.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the factual management model of teacher competency improvement focusing on instructional planning, to describe the design of the management model of teacher competency improvement by utilizing online networks, and to know the validity of the management model. This research implemented a Research and Development (R & D) approach. As the focus of this study, the development of the model is in accordance with the theory of a product-oriented model. The products of this study are in accordance with the characteristics and analysis of the needs of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers. The products are regulated through a needs analysis process that meets the needs of the PAI teachers. The products are lesson plans (RPP) to be shared with colleagues. The results of the needs analysis show the importance of online tools in the improvement of the RPP. The management model of teacher competency improvement utilizes online networks using feasibility analysis, guideline preparation, user manuals, and readability tests that show positive responses from experts and users for the development of this model. The development of this model is seen as valid both from the descriptive aspects of the program and the expert analysis. The design of the teacher competency improvement training is deemed feasible to be developed for the benefit of the PAI teachers.

Abstract

For students graduating from the automotive engineering education study program, this study aims to (1) determine a competency-based block system practice learning management model to improve the students’ skills; (2) to implement the competency-based block system practice learning management model; (3) to know the level of effectiveness of the model. This research implemented a research and development (R&D) approach including (1) preliminary studies including needs and contents analyses, (2) development including design, implementation and evaluation, and (3) testing the effectiveness of the product as a semi-summative evaluation. The data for this study were drawn using interview, documentation, observation, and questionnaires. The data were validated by testing their reliability and validity. The data were then analyzed using descriptive percentages and quantitative models. The results of the subsequent analyses were transformed into constructs of percentages of feasibility in the implementation of practical learning activities. The results of the study show that (1) the factual model has not been equipped with an analysis of the basic needs of practice, the formulation of objectives of the block practice, the design of the practice program, the implementation of the practice program, and the evaluation of the block practice programs so that the student’s proficiency level is still low; (2) the results of the validation from management experts and FGD indicate that the conceptual model of learning is feasible to be applied in learning activities; (3) after going through various suggestions and improvements to the hypothetical model it proved to be feasible to apply in learning. The model of automotive learning systems is very effective and easy to implement.

Abstract

Student satisfaction is an important indicator of the quality of higher education and is a measure of the service quality of its customers. Student satisfaction with their educational institutions also depends on the situation of the campus environment created for the convenience of the students. The main objective of this study is to obtain empirical evidence regarding the impact of service quality, campus ecology, and self-efficacy on the satisfaction level of the students of ANAA Specialist Education Program, Diponegoro University (PPSA UNDIP) Semarang. The population of this study was 125 specialist students of UNDIP and the students were chosen to be selected as samples using random sampling techniques. Data was drawn using a questionnaire; the data were analyzed using the SPSS and the Lisrel 8.54 program. The results of the study show that (1) service quality significantly affected self-efficacy and student satisfaction; (2) campus ecology has a significant effect on self-efficacy of 75.69% and on student satisfaction by 43.56%; (3) service quality and campus ecology together have a significant effect on student self-efficacy; (4) service quality, campus ecology, and self-efficacy together also have a significant effect on the satisfaction of the students of PPDSA UNDIP Semarang. Service quality and campus ecology are antecedent variables of self-efficacy and the three variables are determinants of the satisfaction of the students at the institution.

Abstract

Konstruksi sosial orang tua tentang pendidikan merupakan konsep pendidilan formal yang dibangun oleh orang tua dalam keluarga terhadap anak dengan menyertakan faktor sosial budaya masyarakat. Pola asuh yang tepat akan membentuk kepribadian dan perilaku sosial yang baik pada anak. Orang tua dalam keluarga nelayan di Desa Muarareja Kecamatan Tegal Barat Kota Tegal memandang pendidikan tidak penting, selain itu ditemukan perilaku sosial anak yang menyimpang. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) mengkaji tentang konstruksi sosial orang tua tentang pendidikan anak keluarga nelayan di Desa Muarareja, (2) mengkaji pola asuh anak keluarga nelayan di Desa Muarareja, (3) mengkaji Pola Asuh keluarga nelayan terhadap perilaku sosiak anak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis interaktif meliputi reduksi data, sajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) konstruksi sosial orang tua tentang pendidikan anak yang masih rendah, kurang perhatian orang tua terhadap pendidikan anak, (2) Pola asuh anak keluarga nelayan menerapkan pola asuh otoriter, demokratis, dan permisif, (3) Pola asuh keluarga nelayan terhadap perilaku sosial anak. Pola asuh otoriter dan demokratis akan membentuk perilaku sosial yang sesuai dengan norma, sedangkan pola asuh permisif akan membentuk perilaku sosial yang tidak sesuai dengan norma. The social construction of parents on education is the concept of formal education which was built by the family parents of children to include social and cultural factors. Appropriate parenting will shape the personality and good social behavior in children. Some parents in a family of fishermen in the village Muarareja Western District of Tegal Tegal saw education is not important. Also found child deviant social behavior. The results showed that: (1) the construction of the parents about the child's education on their children's education is still low, less parental supervision of children's education, (2) the pattern of parenting practiced by families of fishermen to their children apply authoritarian parenting, democratic, and permissive, (3) parenting practiced by families of fishermen form the social behavior of children. Authoritarian parenting and will form a democratic social behavior in accordance with the norms, while permissive parenting will shape social behavior that does not comply with the norm (deviant behavior).

Abstract

Alih fungsi lahan dan perekonomian yang tidak mencukupi menjadi salah satu sebab warga Desa Batursari, Kecamatan Mranggen, Kabupaten Demak beralih mata pencaharian di luar sektor pertanian tidak terkecuali perempuan desa. Kehadiran pabrik di Desa Batursari menjadi solusi bagi perempuan desa sehingga membentuk mobilitas sebagai buruh pabrik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kaitan antara mobilitas perempuan buruh pabrik dengan perubahan sosial ekonomi buruh. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Analisis data meliputi analisis domain, analisis taksonomik, analisis komponensial, dan analisis tema kultural. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Dengan tindakan sosial rasional instrumental perempuan desa sehingga membentuk mobilitas perempuan buruh sosial ekonomi yang mampu mengubah sosial ekonomi perempuan buruh.Land use and economy are not sufficient be one for the village residents batursari, District Mranggen, Demak switch livelihoods outside agriculture is no exception village women. This research aims to analyzing the correlation between mobility of female faktory workers with socio-economic changes of women workers. The methodology of this research was qualitative. Method of collecting data in this research is deep interview, observation, and documentation. Analyszing data through domain analysis, taxonomic analysis, componential analysis, and discovering cultural themes. The results of the research showed that with a rational social action instrumental village women who make up the mobility of women workers so as to change the socioeconomic female laborers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the awareness and behavior of tourist visitors as an effort to cultivate the environment, obstacles faced by the tourism office and environmental agencies, as well as efforts made by tourism and environmental agencies for visitors to care about the environment. The type of this research is qualitative research. The research data was collected with several techniques, such as observation, interview, and documentation. Triangulation technique is done by means of triangulation method and source that is by checking the information result of interview with documentation and observation. The result of the discussion about the awareness of the tourist visitors shows that the awareness of the less concerned tourism-related visitors. It proved less tourist visitors know the dangers of waste in the environment. Tourists' social behavior to care less about the environment. This is evident with visitors littering, and no other visitors are rebuking. The obstacles faced by related agencies are human resources problems, eliminating bad thoughts from visitors, and communal waste generated by visitors. Efforts made by the relevant agencies is to create a work program devotion, appeal, and giving a free plastic bag.

Abstract

The development of cement factory in Indonesia every year always continuous to increase along with the development of infrastructure in Indonesia. The construction of cement industry in rural areas will have social and economic impact on the village community. The purpose of this research is to analyze the social impact of the community after cement after the establishment of a cement factory in Tipar Kidul village and analyze the economy impact of the community after the establishment of a cement factory in Tipar Kidul village, Ajibarang sub-district. Research method uses a qualitative approach. Data collection technique uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data validity technique uses triangulation techniques. The results of the study showed that the establishment of a cement factory in the village of Tipar Kidul received support from the community in hopes of being able to improve the economy of the village community. The existence of a cement factory makes rural communities who are employees of a cement factory must be able to manage time to interact with their families and the community. Whereas the economic impacts of the cement factory is in term of income, employment, and living standards. Income of employees that received by cement factory, can fulfill the needs of life. The existence of a cement factory is able to increase the type of livelihood in the village, and can improve their brand’s living standards.

Abstract

Social studies learning aims to enable students to solve the social problems they face and make as good citizens. Walisongo Junior High School is a school where most of the students live in flood-prone areas, so that students’ home affect their caring attitude towards their environment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship of social studies learning to the flood caring attitude of students at Walisongo Junior High School. The method used in this research is qualitative method. The technique of collecting data is in-depth interviews, observation and document study. The results showed that students’ caring attitude towards the environment at Walisongo Junior High School was still low. Social studies learning that is still monotonous has a direct impact on students’ caring attitude towards the environment. This research is expected to be able to provide solutions to increase the concerning of environment particularly.
