Abstract

The 21st century learning requires complex competencies, transformations of technology-based learning and non-cognitive skills need. This situation makes it difficult for teachers of Indonesian vocational education apply 21st century skills. This study aimed to analyze the level of difficulty of teachers and students in vocational education and analyzing the differences in the difficulties faced in vocational education. This research used survey research with a quantitative approach. A total of 178 people participated in the study consisting of two public vocational high schools and two private vocational schools with the distribution of respondents consisting of 155 students and 23 teachers. Collecting data using a questionnaire in the form of a statement of difficulties faced by teachers and students, including creativity skills, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, and digital literacy or information and communication technology (ICT) as many as 50 items. The instrument used was a Likert scale with very difficult, difficult, easy, and very easy categories. The findings of the study showed: i) All skills were identified on the “easy” criteria; and ii) There were significant differences between the difficulties faced by teachers and students, especially communication skills. The recommendation in this study is the need to improve 21st century skills to produce competitive graduate candidates in vocational education.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the maturity level of teachers and vocational students. It also measured differences in the maturity level of teachers and vocational students in mastering the digital technology competence (DTC) in vocational education. Quantitative research used a design developed by Hoy and Adams. A total of 233 respondents came from public and private schools in vocational schools in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Data was collected using a Likert scale questionnaire (1-4). The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results on the maturity level of vocational teachers obtained a score of 13.16-23.68 in the "Low" category and for vocational students obtained a score of 12.98-22.12 in the "Low" category, and there was no significant difference. Teachers and students in vocational schools must have awareness in improving digital technology capabilities at the criticism technology level.

Abstract

The main competence of 21st century technical and vocational education and training (TVET) teachers is the ability to integrate technology into the learning process effectively. However, the concept of learning is now shifting to technological involvement, learning approaches, and needs in accordance with the curriculum of the world of work must be integrated to produce learning outcomes that are able to compete in obtaining work opportunities. The technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) model used in general learning needs to be assessed according to the context of innovation in the TVET learning field. The purpose of this study is to analyze the teaching and learning of TVET teachers who are professionals with the approach of Technology, Andragogy and Work towards Content Knowledge (CK). Study of qualitative methods in the form of document analysis is identified by the philosophy of the learning approach at TVET and the current TVET learning model. The analysis results recommend that the technology andragogy work content knowledge (TAWOCK) model is considered important to be developed in TVET learning. Characteristics of these findings include the involvement of learning using technology, increasing the level of learning for andragogy, adjusting work competence, and curriculum content developed on the concept of knowledge. Finally TPACK has been modified to TAWOCK to study in the TVET field.

Abstract

Learning process at SMK Ma’arif 2 Sleman still passive and uncontrolled, this condition affects to the student learning outcomes. The role of the teacher in the learning process needs to be improved with the right methods to make students more active and encourage student solve the problems. Problem Based Learning (PBL) is one of learning method which the characteristics capable of demanding learners actively and directly involved in the learning. The Aim of this study is want to know affect PBL method can increase the activity and psychomotor learning outcomes of students. The subjects were students of class XI SMK Ma’arif 2014/2015 academic year. Collecting data used in this research is qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed an increase in activity of learners by 12.98% and psychomotor learning outcomes by implementing PBL increased 9.01%. The conclution using PBL method was known that activities of learners increase practical subject.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistim tracer studi yang kredible sesuai dengan kebutuhan pemetaan lulusan dan keterserapan kompetensi yang reliabel atau dalam perkembangan pekerjaan yang lain. Metode research and development (R&D) dengan model Waterfall yang memiliki 5 tahapan penelitian yaitu kebutuhan analisis software, design, coding, testing, maintenance dipakai dalam perumusannya. Subyek pada penelitian ini berjumlah 13 orang, 3 dosen Untirta dan 10 Alumni PVTM.  Pengujian perangkat lunak tracer study ini menggunakan standar ISO 9126 yang telah dimodifikasi menjadi 4 pengujian yakni karakteristik functionality, portability, usability dan reliability. Instument pada pengujian functionality menggunakan metode Black Box Testing dengan 14 pertanyaan, pengujian reliability menggunakan software WebServer Strees Tool, pengujian portability menggunakan software powermapper dan browserstack, sedangkan untuk pengujian usability menggunakan angket dari J.R Lewis berisi 19 pertanyaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil pengujian functionality bernilai 93% dengan kategori sangat baik. Penilaian desain bernilai 90% dengan kategori sangat baik. Hasil pengujian reliability memiliki nilai 99.29% dengan kategori sangat baik. Hasil pengujian usability memiliki nilai 87% dengan kategori sangat baik. dan hasil  pengujian portability memiliki nilai 100% dengan kategori sangat baik. Jadi kebutuhan tracer dinyatakan layak untuk digunakan alumni sebagai informasi kompetensi yang relevan bagi progam studi Pendidikan kejuruan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan dari: (1) pendidikan keluarga terhadap motivasi belajar mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknik Mesin (PTM) Untirta; (2) asal sekolah terhadap motivasi belajar mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknik Mesin (PTM) Untirta; dan (3) lingkungan keluarga da nasal sekolah secara bersama-sama terhadap motivasi belajar mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknik Mesin (PTM) Untirta.Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian ex-post facto dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner atau angket dan dokumentasi. Teknik uji coba instrument dilaksanakan pada 62 responden. Uji validitas instrument menggunakan formula product moment sedangkan uji reliabilitas menggunakan crobach alpha. Uji prasyarat analisis terdiri dari uji normalitas, uji linieritas dan uji multikolonieritas, uji hipotesis menggunakan analisis korelasi sederhanan dan analisis korelasi ganda dengan tingkat signifikansi 5%.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) tidak terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara tingkat pendidikan keluarga dengan motivasi belajar mahasiswa PTM; (2) terdapat hubungan yang positif antara asal sekolah terhadap motivasi belajar mahasiswa PTM dengan korelasi sebesar 0.224 atau 22.4%; dan (3) keduanya secara bersama-sama memiliki pengaruh sebesar 4% yang artinya 96% dipengaruhi oleh factor lain.Kata kunci: Tingkat pendidikan keluarga, Asal sekolah, dan Motivasi belajar

Abstract

Penyelenggaraan pendidikan kejuruan selayaknya memperhatikan kearifan lokal masing-masing daerah. Hal ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui pendidikan yang tepat dan solutif untuk menjawab tantangan persaingan global yang saat ini menjadi pusat perhatian, yaitu pemberlakuan Masyarakat Ekonomi Asean (MEA). Adanya penyelenggaraan pendidikan yang sesuai dengan potensi daerah akan memicu pertumbuhan perekonomian masyarakat lokal, sehingga setiap daerah mampu bersaing sesuai dengan karakteristik dan keunikan daerah masing-masing. Beberapa hal penting yang selayaknya menjadi pertimbangan dalam pengembangan pendidikan kejuruan di setiap daerah yaitu karakteristik daerah, regulasi pemerintah daerah, kesadaran masyarakat, kesiapan sekolah, dan karakteristik industri setempat. Kelima aspek tersebut sangat penting untuk dijadikan dasar pengembangan pendidikan kejuruan agar menghasilkan penyelenggaraan pendidikan kejuruan berbasis kearifan lokal yang mampu mencetak lulusan yang kompeten dan kompetitif.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the implementation of direct learning models that are supported by learning videos. Class action research refers to Kemmis and McTaggart's designs, which are carried out over two cycles. The subjects of the study were students of class X LVE 7 at VHS Dharma Bahari Surabaya. Data were collected using test and observation instruments. Test and observation data were analyzed descriptively based on standardized study completeness criteria. The results of this study found that student learning outcomes consistently increased from the pre-test scores, the value of the first cycle, to the value of the second cycle. Based on the pre-test score data, it is known that there are 16 or 53% of 30 students who reach the complete category. Learning outcomes are then improved in the first cycle, where there are 19 or 63% who reach the complete category. Meanwhile, in cycle II there were 23 or 77% of students who reached the complete category. This increase occurred consistently so that it was concluded that the use of direct learning models supported by learning videos was very effective for the learning of class X LVE 7 students at VHS Dharma Bahari Surabaya.

Abstract

This study aims to identify teacher competency needs and develop a local wisdom-based 4-ON (vision, action, passion, and collaboration) model in the competencies of machining technique in vocational secondary schools. The 4-ON model is a way to examine the professionalism of teachers in vocational secondary schools. The type of study is research and development, using the Richey and Klein model. The subjects are 26 vocational teachers of machining techniques. The data collection uses questionnaires and documentation. The questionnaire instrument is declared valid by 3 experts in content and tested with reliable results with a value of 0.82. The data analysis is quantitative descriptive. The study of the research and development are: (1) the teacher need for 4-ON (vision, action, passion, and collaboration) 79.81% response, the implementation of the local wisdom in learning 78.13% response, and six competencies machining technique expertise 80.48% response; (2) the local wisdom-based 4-ON model in the competencies of machining technique goes through 3 stages, namely development, process, and output for a result the professional and competent teacher.
