Abstract

Classroom management plays a vital role in shaping the quality of learning, particularly in elementary education, where foundational skills are developed. This study aimed to examine the influence of classroom management on the learning quality of elementary school students in Boja District, Kendal Regency. A quantitative research method with a correlational design was employed, involving 200 elementary teachers selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using validated Likert-scale questionnaires that measured classroom management across four dimensions and learning quality across four indicators. The findings revealed a strong positive correlation between classroom management and learning quality (r = 0.779, p < 0.01). Regression analysis revealed that classroom management has a significant predictive value for learning quality (B = 0.282), accounting for 60.6% of its variance. Among all components, time management was found to be the most influential aspect, while social interaction management showed the lowest effectiveness. These results underscore the importance of equipping teachers with both technical and interpersonal skills in classroom management.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of the roles of school supervisors and principals on the quality of public elementary schools in Rembang District, Rembang Regency. Using a quantitative correlational approach, data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 188 teachers from 45 public elementary schools. The research focuses on three main variables: school quality (dependent), the role of school supervisors, and the role of principals (independent). The results indicate that both school supervisors and principals have a statistically significant influence on school quality, both partially and simultaneously. However, the direction of influence is negative, suggesting that increased perception of their roles tends to appear in schools experiencing lower performance. Factor analysis reveals that managerial supervision by supervisors and the supervisory role of principals are the most dominant dimensions perceived by teachers. The novelty of this study lies in its finding that strong perceived leadership roles do not always correlate positively with school quality, especially when such roles are implemented as responses to existing problems. The study is limited by its use of perception-based data and cross-sectional design. Future research is recommended to adopt mixed methods, include objective school quality indicators, and use longitudinal data for broader and deeper insights

Abstract

Mutu akademik sekolah dasar merupakan salah satu indikator penting dalam menilai keberhasilan sistem pendidikan dasar di Indonesia. Peningkatan mutu akademik tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal peserta didik, tetapi juga oleh faktor eksternal seperti kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah dan ketersediaan sarana serta prasarana pendidikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis kontribusi kompetensi kepala sekolah terhadap mutu akademik sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif karena berorientasi pada pengukuran hubungan antar variabel dengan menggunakan data numerik yang dapat dianalisis secara statistik. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh Guru pada Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kecamatan Bulu, Kabupaten Rembang berjumlah 156 Guru. Sampel penelitian diambil secara acak berjumlah 118 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi profesional kepala sekolah dan sarana prasarana secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap mutu akademik. Kompetensi kepala sekolah (X1) memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap mutu akademik sekolah dasar. Setiap peningkatan 1 unit kompetensi kepala sekolah akan meningkatkan mutu akademik sebesar 0,512 unit. Dengan nilai t hitung 9,842 (p < 0,05), variabel X1 terbukti sebagai faktor dominan dalam model, dibandingkan dengan sarana prasarana (X2) yang memiliki koefisien 0,374. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi profesional kepala sekolah dan ketersediaan sarana prasarana berkontribusi signifikan terhadap mutu akademik Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kecamatan Bulu. Kebaruan studi terletak pada pendekatan simultan dua faktor dalam konteks pendidikan dasar di daerah non-perkotaan dengan analisis kuantitatif. Secara teoritis, hasil ini memperkuat konsep manajemen berbasis mutu, dan secara praktis merekomendasikan penguatan kompetensi kepala sekolah serta pemerataan sarana prasarana oleh pemerintah.

Abstract

Kemampuan kognitif guru merupakan hal penting dalam peningkatan mutu PAUD. Kemampuan kognitif guru dalam penelitian ini mencakup aspek-aspek pemahaman konseptual, kemampuan memecahkan masalah, dan kemampuan berpikir logis. Hasil observasi pendahuluan menunjukkan kemampuan kognitif guru masih cukup. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan mendeskripsikan pengaruh Kemampuan Kognitif terhadap mutu PAUD di Kecamatan Sumowono dan Bandungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian adalah semua populasi guru PAUD di Kecamatan Sumowono dan Bandungan berjumlah 121 orang. Analisis penelitian ini meliputi Uji Prasyarat dan  Uji Hipotesis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan Kemampuan Kognitif guru berpengaruh positif terhadap Mutu PAUD berdasarkan hasil uji t terbukti thitung ≥ ttabel 11,993  > t tabel 1,657   dan tingkat signifikansi t hitung 0,000 < 0,05. Besarnya pengaruh Kemampuan Kognitif guru terhadap variabel Mutu PAUD adalah 43,5%. Kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara kemampuan kognitif guru dengan mutu PAUD. Rekomendasi diberikan pada semua PAUD untuk lebih fokus pada stimulasi kemampuan kognitif guru melalui kurikulum dan metode pembelajaran yang inovatif. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menyarankan perlunya peningkatan kompetensi guru PAUD dalam merancang aktivitas yang dapat mengoptimalkan kemampuan anak, yang pada akhirnya akan meningkatkan mutu layanan pendidikan yang diberikan.

Abstract

Character education based on school culture is believed to have great potential in shaping students' positive character. Therefore, a clear description is needed in its implementation. This study aims to describe the implementation of character education based on school culture at SMP Negeri 1 Pabelan. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the planning of character education based on school culture at SMP Negeri 1 Pabelan is implemented through a special team (PPK team). The planning of priority character values is elaborated from the school's vision, mission, and goals. In 2025, it focuses more on critical, creative, and independent thinking. The implementation of Character Education uses a habituation model and role models in routine, spontaneous, and programmed activities. Character values are integrated into the learning process in the classroom. Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are explicitly designed to develop student character (especially activities related to local culture). Evaluation is carried out focusing on aspects of values, changes in student behavior, and teacher involvement. The evaluation results are analyzed and used as feedback for program improvement. The research recommendations are provided to schools to ensure they can sustainably maintain and strengthen positive values in character education. The Department of Education is expected to provide support for the development of character education resources.

Abstract

Dadapayam 02 Public Elementary School received the BOS Performance Award for two consecutive years despite its suboptimal accreditation. This was due to the school's improved performance, demonstrated by its improved educational report card scores. Based on this, a study was conducted to describe educational financing planning to improve the quality of elementary schools. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and document analysis. Participants in this study were the principal, vice principal, BOS treasurer, teachers, and school committee representatives. The results showed that financing planning at Dadapayam 2 Public Elementary School had been carried out through the stages of needs analysis, priority setting, and budget preparation. However, several challenges arose, such as limited BOS funds as the primary source and the lack of active participation from external parties. Nevertheless, the school successfully prioritized improving teacher competency, followed by improving infrastructure and developing curriculum and extracurricular programs. The conclusion of this study is that structured financing planning can significantly improve the quality of education at Dadapayam 02 Public Elementary School, especially when the budget is allocated to programs that directly impact the quality of teaching and learning. Suggestions for further research are to develop a more innovative and effective funding source diversification model..

Abstract

The quality of public elementary schools in Rembang District, Rembang Regency, varies considerably, with some schools achieving high performance while others continue to face challenges in literacy, numeracy, and character development. This situation underscores the importance of examining the contributions of school supervisors, principals, and school committees to school quality. This study aims to analyze the influence of these three roles on the quality of public elementary schools. A quantitative approach with a survey method was used, involving 188 teachers from 42 schools selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire and analyzed with simple and multiple regression techniques. Results show that, partially, the roles of school supervisors and principals significantly influence school quality (p = 0.001 and p = 0.004), but with negative regression coefficients, while the school committee’s role is not significant (p = 0.800). Simultaneously, the three roles significantly affect school quality (p = 0.000) with an R² of 8.8%. Strengthening leadership, supervision, and committee involvement is essential for sustainable improvement.

Abstract

Improving the quality of basic education is an essential foundation for developing competitive human resources. However, many schools face persistent challenges, particularly related to leadership effectiveness and the limited use of data in planning. This study aims to examine the influence of instructional leadership and data-based planning on the quality of public elementary schools in Gunem District, Rembang Regency. The research employed a quantitative explanatory approach with a sample of 108 respondents, consisting of principals and teachers selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a validated Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that both instructional leadership and data-based planning have a positive and significant effect on school quality, both individually and simultaneously. The simultaneous test revealed that the two variables together explained 35.6% of the variance in school quality, demonstrating their complementary impact. In conclusion, strong instructional leadership combined with systematic data-driven planning substantially improves school quality, while other external factors also play a role in achieving sustainable educational improvement.

Abstract

Improving teacher performance is a major priority in strengthening the quality of education. Two important factors influencing performance are work motivation, which provides the internal drive to achieve goals, and work discipline, which ensures consistency and accountability in carrying out professional duties. Examining these factors is particularly relevant in the socio-cultural context of East Pekalongan District, Pekalongan City. This study aims to analyze the influence of work motivation and work discipline on the performance of public junior high school teachers in East Pekalongan District. The research employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto and associative design. A total of 115 teachers were selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire, and analyzed through descriptive statistics, classical assumption testing, and multiple linear regression. The results show that work motivation has a significant positive effect on teacher performance, contributing 61.4%. Work discipline also significantly affects performance, with a contribution of 43.2%. Simultaneously, both factors explain 61.8% of the variance in teacher performance, indicating a strong combined influence. The study concludes that strengthening teacher motivation and discipline is essential for improving professional performance and suggests that schools and policymakers develop integrated strategies to optimize these two aspects.

Abstract

Setiap perguruan tinggi pasti memerlukan upaya untuk mempersiapkan lulusannya supaya berdaya saing tinggi pada era globalisasi. Untuk menyiapkan lulusan di dunia kerja secara matang, salah satunya dengan penanaman budaya profesional. Sekolah Tinggi Maritim (STIMART) AMNI Semarang melakukan penanaman budaya profesional dengan cara menerapkan sistem seleksi Penerimaan Calon Taruna (PENCATAR) secara ketat atau, kegiatan Masa Orientasi Kampus (MOKAM) Sekolah Tinggi Maritim pada taruna baru yang profesional, memberlakukan Tata Tertib (Tatib) dan pemberian sangsi, melaksanakan sistem perkuliahan yang mantap, dan melaksanakan pemasaran lulusan. Penelitian ini juga berhasil mengungkap bahwa, kebiasaan positif yang menjadi dasar budaya profesional dapat tumbuh dan berkembang di STIMART?óÔé¼ÔÇ£AMNI Semarang dalam mempersiapkan lulusan berdaya saing pada era globalisasi, dimulai dengan proses internalisasi nilai-nilai luhur budaya profesional tersebut pada diri taruna maupun dosen. Pada diri taruna proses internalisasi tersebut melalui: (1)penanaman kesadaran tentang nilai-nilai budaya profesional oleh dosen dan pimpinan Sekolah Tinggi Maritim,(2) faktor internal taruna (dorongan dari diri sendiri) dan (3) penyesuaian diri dengan lingkungan yang telah berbudaya profesional.
