Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of 'aqidah education in Nisa'iyah subjects for cultivating akhlaq karimah (noble character) at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri Campus 1. Employing a qualitative case study approach, it investigates how 'aqidah values are integrated into Nisa'iyah subjects, which include women's fiqh, women's psychology, women's health, and women's skills. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that this integrative approach significantly contributes to shaping akhlaq karimah among female students, aligning with Pondok's educational objectives and contemporary societal needs. Key factors influencing this process include student motivation, socio-cultural background, and the Pondok's educational environment. The integration of 'aqidah education is carried out through cognitive understanding, affective appreciation, and psychomotor practice, fostering a holistic development of students' character. The study underscores the pivotal role of Islamic education in nurturing Muslim women with noble character, preparing them to face modern challenges. Additionally, it highlights the necessity of continuous curriculum evaluation in response to evolving social and technological contexts. This research contributes to the discourse on Islamic education by offering a model for integrating 'aqidah and akhlaq in a comprehensive manner. It emphasizes the importance of a balanced educational approach that addresses intellectual, emotional, and practical dimensions, ensuring that students develop into individuals with strong moral character, social responsibility, and adaptive skills required to navigate contemporary societal shifts.

Abstract

In an increasingly complex social life, there is often an increase in the use of abusive language, which can be detrimental to individuals and society. This study aims to examine the potential of Abdussamad al-Palimbani’s zikr concept and practice as a spiritual approach to help overcome the phenomenon of abusive language. This research utilized a qualitative approach by reviewing the literature on zikr and spiritual practices in Islam. The research combined social psychology theory and spiritual approaches to examine how the zikr teachings of Abdusamad al-Palimbani can be a solution to change the habit of spreading hate speech. The results show that the practice of zikr has the potential to develop spiritual awareness that can influence communication behavior. The implications of this research include the need to integrate spiritual values into the development of children’s personalities, youth, and communication ethics as part of character education. The results of this study are expected to serve as a foundation for the development of educational programs and social interventions that focus on changing communication behavior towards more dignified and polite communication patterns.

Abstract

The prevalence of mental health disorders in contemporary society underscores the need for effective psychotherapeutic approaches. While modern psychotherapy has made significant strides, the potential of Sufistic approaches, particularly in Islamic contexts, remains largely unexplored. This study examines the dhikr (remembrance of God) concept of Abdurrauf al-Singkili, a prominent 17th-century Indonesian Sufi, as a psychotherapeutic model. Through extensive library research, utilizing documentary techniques to analyze Abdurrauf's works and related scholarly materials, this study employs content analysis to elucidate his unique approach to dhikr. The findings reveal that Abdurrauf's dhikr concept offers a comprehensive Sufistic approach to psychotherapy, potentially serving as an alternative or complementary model in addressing current mental health challenges. Abdurrauf's conceptualization of dhikr as a means for spiritual fortification and psychological tranquility demonstrates remarkable parallels with contemporary meditation and relaxation therapy techniques. This research contributes to the growing body of literature on integrative psychotherapy, highlighting the relevance of traditional Sufistic practices in modern mental health interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the epistemological construct of Sufism according to Said Nursi in the contemporary era. Sufism is seen as having deviant concepts and practices contrary to Sharia in the modern era. Some muslim and non-muslim thinkers argue that Sufism does not originate from Islam. Therefore, there needs to be an effort to decipher this misunderstanding by exposing how Sufism's epistemology was genuinely constructed by referring to the teachings and practices of a contemporary Sufi, Sa'id Nursi. This study is qualitative library research. Data in this study, both primary and secondary, were collected using documentary techniques. The collected data were analyzed utilizing the content analysis method. This work finds that Nursi outlines four pillars of Sufism epistemology. First, true Sufism is based on the Qur'an and Sunnah, internalized and manifested through the soul and heart, as is the view of the authoritative Sufis. Second, purification of the teachings and practices of Sufism must depart from the purgation of the heart and soul. Third, social equality refers to carrying out lifes values, meaning that all are equal before Allah SWT. Fourth, consistently instill the Qurans four values: tauhid (unity and oneness of God), nubuwah (prophecy), hashr (resurrection), and 'adl (justice).

Abstract

Abstract

Spiritual intelligence is an important dimension in the holistic development of students. Although intellectual intelligence (IQ) is often the main focus in education, spiritual intelligence also has a significant role in shaping character, morality, and emotional well-being. Islamic Religious subject is one way to develop spiritual intelligence, a phenomenon that occurs at MI Nurussalam. Islamic Religious subject is given at a percentage of 10% of the general subjects’ hours so that religious subject study hours only last for three meetings a week. Universitas Darussalam (UNIDA) Gontor Women’s Campus Postgraduate Community Service Team organized PERSAMI at MI Nurussalam which aimed at increasing student's spiritual intelligence through fun natural activities, namely Saturday and Sunday Camps (Saturday and Sunday Camps – PERSAMI). The method used is PAR (Participatory Action Research), in partnership with MI Nurussalam teachers and students. This community service has succeeded in carrying out a series of activities which generally includes camps, cross country, and happy bonfires with a series of religious subjects in each activity. PERSAMI of MI Nurussalam activities succeeded in increasing students' spiritual enthusiasm and increasing their understanding of religion through fun nature camp activities.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of Qaul as a foundational paradigm for message theory within Islamic communication studies. While dominant communication theories commonly conceptualize messages as neutral units of information exchange, the Islamic intellectual tradition understands speech as an ethically accountable act with social and moral consequences. This study aims to elaborate on the multidimensional character of Qaul within Islamic epistemology and to explore its relevance for contemporary communication discourse. Using a conceptual qualitative approach based on library research, the study analyzes classical Islamic sources together with contemporary literature in communication studies. The analysis demonstrates that Qaul cannot be reduced to a merely linguistic act or a vehicle for information transmission; rather, it represents a normative communicative construct that shapes belief formation, ethical orientation, and social cohesion. The findings indicate that Qaul operates simultaneously across cognitive, moral, and relational dimensions, thereby situating communication within a framework of responsibility and accountability. Furthermore, the article highlights the relevance of the Qaul paradigm for contemporary communication practices, particularly within digital environments characterized by information abundance, fragmentation, and ethical ambiguity. By proposing an integrative theoretical framework, this study positions Qaul as a core concept that can enrich existing message theories and contribute to the development of a distinctive philosophy of Islamic communication grounded in Islamic epistemology.
