Abstract

Peningkatan keterampilan menulis akademik bagi para pendidik sangat penting untuk mendukung kualitas pendidikan dan pengajaran yang lebih baik. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis guru-guru SMP di Lombok Tengah, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) sebanyak 12 guru, serta menyusun pendahuluan artikel akademik yang menarik dan efektif. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi dengan indikator keberhasilan berupa kemampuan peserta dalam menemukan topik dan menyusun pendahuluan artikel akademik. Hasil yang dicapai menunjukkan bahwa 83,3% peserta berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan mereka dalam menyusun pendahuluan artikel akademik dengan baik, sementara sisanya menunjukkan kemampuan yang cukup baik. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa program pengabdian ini efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis peserta, khususnya dalam menyusun pendahuluan yang relevan dan berkualitas.

Abstract

Learning nonlinear equation systems requires the integration of conceptual understanding and computational skills, which in practice remains a challenge for students due to the abstract nature of the material. This community service activity aims to improve students' understanding of nonlinear equation systems through the use of MATLAB Numeric GUI as an interactive learning medium. There were 23 students from the Mathematics Education Study Program at UIN Mataram participating in this activity. The implementation methods included concept socialization, GUI usage demonstrations, case-based independent practice, and direct mentoring. The evaluation system used three essay questions to measure mastery of concepts, numerical procedures, and MATLAB GUI usage skills. The evaluation results show that the average achievement of students is 70, with a maximum score of 80 and a minimum score of 60. The average score for the first question reached 68.67, increased to 69.33 for the second question, and increased again to 72.67 for the third question, showing a trend of increasing understanding by 4 points from the initial question to the final question. These findings indicate that the use of the MATLAB Numeric GUI can strengthen conceptual understanding, improve computational skills, and help visualize numerical processes more concretely in learning nonlinear equation systems.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu mahasiswa Program Profesi Guru (PPG) Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram dalam mengubah hasil Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) menjadi artikel ilmiah berkualitas serta membekali mereka dengan strategi publikasi yang tepat. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 19 mahasiswa sebagai mitra utama dengan pendekatan praktik langsung dan pemanfaatan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (AI), khususnya ChatGPT. Pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi pelatihan penyusunan struktur artikel, strategi memilih target jurnal, dan praktik penggunaan AI dalam penulisan ilmiah. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test berupa angket skala Likert dan observasi langsung. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan membandingkan skor pre-test dan post-test yang diperoleh dari angket skala Likert serta didukung oleh hasil observasi selama kegiatan berlangsung. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan kompetensi peserta dengan nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 61,84 meningkat menjadi 91,44 pada post-test. Peningkatan tersebut mencerminkan perbaikan kemampuan peserta dalam memahami sistematika penulisan artikel ilmiah serta memanfaatkan ChatGPT sebagai alat bantu penulisan secara efisien. Kebaruan kegiatan ini terletak pada integrasi ChatGPT sebagai assistive tool dalam pendampingan penulisan artikel ilmiah berbasis PTK, yang masih jarang diterapkan secara sistematis dalam program PPG. Disarankan agar program serupa dilaksanakan secara berkelanjutan, dengan fokus pada pendampingan penyuntingan naskah dan penguatan keterampilan penggunaan teknologi AI dalam penulisan ilmiah. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi bekal berharga bagi mahasiswa PPG dalam mengembangkan karier sebagai pendidik profesional. Transforming Classroom Action Research Results into Quality Articles and Publication Strategies for PPG Students This community service activity aims to assist students of the Teacher Professional Program (PPG) at Muhammadiyah University Mataram in transforming their Classroom Action Research (PTK) results into high-quality scientific articles and equipping them with appropriate publication strategies. This activity involved 19 students as key partners with a hands-on approach and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, specifically ChatGPT. The activity included training on article structure, strategies for selecting target journals, and the use of AI in scientific writing. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests in the form of Likert scale questionnaires and direct observation. The analysis results showed a significant increase in participants' competence, with an average pre-test score of 61.84 increasing to 91.44 on the post-test. All competency indicators, both in article structure development and AI utilization, showed a significant improvement. This activity proved to be effective in improving students' scientific writing skills and encouraging them to actively contribute to the world of education through publications. It is recommended that similar programs be implemented on an ongoing basis, with a focus on manuscript editing assistance and strengthening skills in the use of AI technology in scientific writing. This activity is expected to be valuable preparation for PPG students in developing their careers as professional educators.

Abstract

Kegiatan Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dalam penulisan artikel ilmiah melalui pemanfaatan data Program Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan (PLP). Mitra kegiatan adalah mahasiswa semester 3 Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram yang sedang menempuh mata kuliah PLP I. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi penyusunan materi pelatihan, pelaksanaan pelatihan secara daring melalui Zoom Meeting, serta evaluasi menggunakan angket skala Likert dengan delapan indikator pemahaman penulisan artikel ilmiah. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 78,97% yang berada pada kategori baik, sehingga mengindikasikan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan kompetensi mahasiswa dalam menyusun artikel ilmiah berbasis data hasil observasi dan wawancara selama PLP. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan akademik mahasiswa dan berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai model pendampingan penulisan artikel ilmiah bagi mahasiswa kependidikan

Abstract

Multivariable nonlinear equation systems often appear in engineering, physics, economics, and artificial intelligence modeling, but often do not have closed analytical solutions. Therefore, accurate, efficient, and stable numerical methods are needed. This study aims to comparatively evaluate three iterative methods, namely Multivariate Newton-Raphson, Newton-Kantorovich, and Levenberg–Marquardt, in solving identical high-complexity multivariable nonlinear systems. Simulations were performed using MATLAB with an error tolerance of 0.001 and a maximum iteration limit of 100. The test system consisted of a combination of trigonometric, exponential, and polynomial functions, resulting in nonlinear interactions that were challenging for each method. The simulation results show that Levenberg–Marquardt excelled with only 6 iterations and a final error of 3.246 × 10⁻¹⁰, indicating high stability and efficiency, followed by Multivariate Newton-Raphson with 13 iterations and an error of 4.606 × 10⁻⁹, while Newton-Kantorovich requires 27 iterations with an error of 5.770 × 10⁻⁷, reflecting slower semi-local corrections. Three-dimensional visualization shows the intersection point of the surface as a solution, providing an intuitive understanding of the iteration trajectory characteristics of each method. The novelty of this research lies in the integrated numerical simulation framework that allows direct quantitative comparison of the three methods on identical systems with the same initial conditions, tolerance, and iteration limits. These findings provide important empirical references for selecting efficient and stable iterative methods for multivariable nonlinear systems, as well as practical guidance for numerical applications in engineering, physics, and scientific computing.

Abstract

Rainfall forecasting is essential for water resource management, hydrometeorological disaster mitigation, and agricultural planning. This study addressed the limitations of previous research that focused on single models or hybrid approaches combining only two methods, which often failed to capture the simultaneous volatility, trend, and nonlinear characteristics of rainfall data. Monthly rainfall data from 2015 to 2024 were analyzed using three individual models: Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (GARCH), Holt’s Exponential Smoothing, and Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN). Two hybrid models, GARCH–Holt and GARCH–Holt–BPNN, were also developed to integrate the advantages of statistical and artificial intelligence methods. Hyperparameter tuning was performed to optimize model performance, and forecasting accuracy was evaluated using Mean Squared Error (MSE), Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). Results showed that GARCH effectively captured short-term volatility, Holt followed trends and seasonal patterns, and BPNN modeled nonlinear relationships despite sensitivity to data variations. The GARCH–Holt hybrid improved stability and accuracy compared to individual models, while the GARCH–Holt–BPNN hybrid achieved the highest predictive performance with a MAPE of 1.13%, indicating strong generalization capability. Forecasted rainfall for 2025 revealed seasonal patterns characterized by periods of heavy, moderate, and light rainfall. A MATLAB-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) was developed to facilitate interactive modeling and visualization. Overall, the proposed hybrid GARCH–Holt–BPNN model provides a more robust and reliable forecasting framework by effectively integrating volatility, trend, and nonlinear components, thereby enhancing predictive accuracy and supporting data-driven decision-making in hydrometeorological applications.

Abstract

The low level of scientific writing skills among high school students poses a challenge in building academic literacy readiness for college. This community service program aims to improve the scientific writing competencies of students at MA Nurul Islam Plus through outreach, training, technology-based mentoring, as well as evaluation and monitoring. The implementation method uses a participatory approach with a student-centered learning model that positions students as active participants in the learning process. The results of the activities demonstrate an improvement in students’ understanding of the basic structure of scientific papers, idea development, and the more systematic use of academic language. Program evaluation yielded an average response score of 77.29, indicating a positive category. The highest indicator was in the understanding of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in scientific writing, while the lowest indicator was in the IMRAD structure, particularly the results and discussion sections. Although there were variations in ability among students, intensive mentoring was able to gradually improve scientific writing skills. Overall, this program effectively strengthened students’ academic literacy as a foundation for readiness to meet the demands of higher education. Literacy-strengthening programs based on mentoring and digital technology need to be continued on an ongoing basis within the madrasah environment.

Abstract

Penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam pembelajaran matematika telah diterapkan di sekolah, namun media yang digunakan masih bersifat sederhana sehingga kurang menarik perhatian siswa. Kondisi tersebut menyebabkan sebagian siswa mudah merasa bosan dan keaktifan belajar siswa belum optimal, khususnya pada materi peluang. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan media pembelajaran “Pasar Peluang” berbasis pendekatan Deep Learning dalam meningkatkan keaktifan belajar matematika siswa kelas VI SDN 26 Mataram. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 35 siswa kelas VI SDN 26 Mataram. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi dengan instrumen berupa lembar observasi keaktifan belajar siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata keaktifan belajar siswa mencapai 86% dengan kategori tinggi. Implementasi media “Pasar Peluang” berbasis pendekatan Deep Learning mampu menciptakan pembelajaran matematika yang aktif, interaktif, menyenangkan, dan kondusif.

Abstract

Research on improving numeracy literacy among students is important to do considering that numeracy competence is one of the main indicators in facing the challenges of the digital era and the increasingly complex needs of the labor market. This research aims to examine the role of collaboration skills and digital literacy in improving students' numeracy literacy. This type of research is qualitative with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Literature sources were obtained from indexed databases, namely Dimensions and Scopus, with a coverage of publications within the last ten years. The results of the analysis show that collaborative skills, digital literacy integration, and the implementation of educational policies have a significant contribution to strengthening student numeracy literacy. Various collaborative and digital learning models such as Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC), Participatory Action Research (PAR), and technology-based interactive platforms are considered effective in increasing student engagement and understanding numeracy concepts in depth. The findings are expected to be the basis for developing adaptive and relevant learning strategies in the context of higher education in the digital era.

Abstract

The problem underlying this study is the suboptimal use of instructional duration in enhancing student engagement and participation, particularly in the context of game-based learning. Moreover, there is a lack of research that specifically examines the impact of short-duration differences on student engagement patterns, both individually and in groups. Therefore, this study aims to compare the levels of student engagement and participation in mathematics learning based on differences in duration and intensity of MathQuest game usage. This study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental design. The research subjects were 49 sixth-grade elementary school students divided into two groups, namely Class A and Class B. Data were collected using observation sheets and pre-test and post-test instruments developed based on validated indicators of student engagement (X1) and participation (X2). The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Independent Sample t-test to determine the significance of differences between the two groups. The analysis results showed significance values for individual engagement (0.977), group engagement (0.084), individual participation (0.834), group participation (0.834), and participation within the group (0.145), all of which were greater than 0.05, indicating no significant differences in the average levels of engagement and participation between students in Class A and Class B, both individually and in groups. Although there were slight variations in mean scores and standard deviations, these differences were not substantial enough to influence the conclusions of the study.
