Abstract

This paper reported result of a research attempted to analyze: the increase in student’s MPS and SC using problem-based learning; and to look interaction between students’ PMK and learning to increase student’s MPS and SC. This type of research was a quasi-experimental. The population of this research was all students in SMA Negeri 6 Medan. Then 33 students were chosen as the experimental class and 33 students in other class was chosen as a control class by using purposive sampling technique. The data in this study were analyzed using Two Ways ANOVA. The result of validity of student’s MPS test is 0,808. Both reability of test was 0.86. The result of this research were: (1) The enhancement of student’s MPS ability and SC using problem-based learning was higher than conventional learning; (2) There is no interaction between student’s PMK and learning on student’s MPS ability and SC.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kegiatan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) bertujuan untuk (1) memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan pengembangan e-modul berbasis EPUB3 SIGIL untuk meningkatkan kemampuan techno-pedagogical guru sekolah menengah, dan (2) meningkatkan kemampuan guru sekolah menengah dalam menggunakan bahan ajar digital selama pembelajaran jarak jauh (PJJ) berbasis teknologi di masa New Normal. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dengan 3 cara, yakni workshop, demonstrasi dan pendampingan. Peserta kegiatan PKM berjumlah 24 orang guru yang terdiri dari guru sekolah menengah pertama dan guru sekolah menengah atas. Evaluasi kegiatan PKM dilakukan melalui angket/kuisioner yang diberikan sebelum dan setelah kegiatan PKM dilaksanakan. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif deskriptif. Hasil yang diperoleh diantaranya (1) terdapat peningkatan pemahaman guru sekolah menengah terkait bahan ajar digital (e-modul) dan pembelajaran berbasis teknologi sebesar 68,11% (kategori baik); dan (2) terdapat peningkatan keterampilan guru sekolah menengah dalam mengembangkan e-modul berbasis EPUB3 SIGIl sebesar 69,30% (kategori baik).Abstract: The Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to (1) enhance secondary school teachers' techno-pedagogical capabilities by providing training and mentoring on the creation of EPUB3 SIGIL-based e-modules, and (2) improve secondary teachers' ability to use digital teaching materials during technology-based distance learning (PJJ) in the New Normal period. Workshops, demonstration and mentoring are the three methods used to carry out activities. There were 24 teachers in all, with junior high and senior high school teachers among them. PKM activities are evaluated using questionnaires provided before and after they are carried out.The data is analyzed descriptive qualitatively. The results include (1) Secondary teachers' comprehension of digital teaching materials (e-modules) and learning based on technology improved by 68,11% (good category); and (2) secondary teachers' skills in designing EPUB3 SIGIl-based e-modules improved by 69,30% (good category).

Abstract

Abstrak: Kegiatan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) bertujuan untuk (1) memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam memahami dan mengetahui bagaimana melakukan integrasi sistem manajemen sekolah yang terintegrasi teknologi dengan menggunakan knowledge management system dan (2) meningkatkan kemampuan guru sekolah menengah dalam mengimplementasikan sistem manajemen sekolah yang terintegrasi teknologi dengan menggunakan knowledge management system dalam upaya membantu pelaksanaan pembelajaran di masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dengan 3 cara, yakni workshop, demonstrasi dan pendampingan. Peserta kegiatan PKM berjumlah 24 orang guru yang terdiri dari guru sekolah menengah pertama dan guru sekolah menengah atas. Evaluasi kegiatan PKM dilakukan melalui angket/kuisioner yang diberikan sebelum dan setelah kegiatan PKM dilaksanakan. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif deskriptif. Hasil yang diperoleh diantaranya (1) terdapat peningkatan pemahaman guru sekolah menengah mengenai sistem manajemen sekolah yang terintegrasi teknologi dengan menggunakan knowledge management system sebesar 84,79% (kategori sangat baik); dan (2) terdapat peningkatan keterampilan guru sekolah menengah dalam mengimplementasikan sistem manajemen sekolah yang terintegrasi teknologi dengan menggunakan knowledge management system sebesar 77,49% (kategori baik). Abstract: The activities of the Community Partnership Program (PKM) are intended to (1) provide training and mentoring in understanding and using technology-integrated knowledge management systems and (2) improve high school teachers' ability to embrace technology-based knowledge management systems. The activity method is carried out in 3 ways, namely workshops, demonstrations, and mentoring. Participants in PKM activities amounted to 24 teachers consisting of junior high school teachers and high school teachers. Evaluation of PKM activities is carried out through questionnaires given before and after PKM activities are carried out. Data analysis is done in a quantitatively descriptive manner. (1) High school teachers' awareness of integrated technology school management systems increased by 84,79 % (excellent category), and (2) High school teachers' skills in implementing school management systems that are integrated technology have increased by 77.49 % (good category).

Abstract

Education as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic has undergone transformation related to the learning process from face-to-face learning process to online-based learning process that utilizes various online platforms, such as WhatsApp, YouTube, and Zoom Meetings. The use of online platforms helps students to improve their cognitive skills, one of which is statistical skills. This study aims to determine whether there is a significant statistical difference between learning using WhatsApp, YouTube, and Zoom Meetings during online learning and to find out which online platforms are effective and interactive. The research sample consisted of 69 students taking statistics courses. The research method is mix-method or mix of quantitative and qualitative. The data collection techniques are online-based test instruments, questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis used Kruskal Wallis test and descriptive analysis test. The results showed that there were differences in students' statistical skills between the three classes, where the best came from learning using YouTube platform. The findings also show that students give higher positive responses to the use of YouTube as platform in online learning. The interview results show that the use of YouTube is more effective and interactive for students while participating in online-based learning. By that means, YouTube platform is effective in improving statistical skills in online learning.

Abstract

Abstrak: Masa pandemik COVID-19 mengharuskan pembelajaran daring. Masalahnya bencana yang datang tiba-tiba menyebabkan guru-guru SD Darul Ilmi Murni kurang memiliki persiapan untuk mengatasi pembelajaran daring. Untuk itu kegiatan PKM dilaksanakan berupa workshop mengenai aplikasi Google Classroom kepada guru-guru SD Swasta Darul Ilmi Murni yang bertujuan untuk membantu guru membuat pembelajaran daring efektif dimasa pandemik COVID-19. Banyak peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan PKM ini adalah 15 orang guru dari SD Swasta Darul Ilmi Murni. Dari hasil test evaluasi praktek penerapan aplikasi Google Classroom diperoleh 85% guru berhasil membuat pembelajaran daring efektif menggunakan aplikasi google classroom. Guru-guru memiliki keterampilan untuk mengelola pembelajaran daring menggunakan Google Classroom. Prestasi siswa meningkat setelah guru menerapkan Google Classroom pada pembelajaran daring. Respon siswa, orang tua dan guru sangat baik terhadap media pembelajaran daring Google Classroom.Abstract:  The period of the COVID-19 pandemic requires online learning. The problem is that the sudden disaster caused the teachers of primary school Darul Ilmi Murni to be less prepared to handle online learning. For this reason, PKM activities are carried out in the form of workshops on the Google Classroom application for teachers of Darul Ilmi Murni Primary School which aims to help teachers make online learning effective during the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of participants participating in this activity was 15 teachers. From the results of the test evaluation of the practice of implementing the Google Classroom application, it was found that 85% of teachers succeeded in making online learning effective using the google classroom application. Teachers have the skills to manage online learning using Google Classroom. Student achievement increased after the teacher implemented Google Classroom in online learning. Student, parent and teacher responses are very good to Google Classroom online learning media.

Abstract

AbstrakHipertensi merupakan masalah kesehatan yang sering ditemukan di tengahmasyarakat dan mengakibatkan angka kesakitan yang tinggi. Banyak faktor yangdapat memicu terjadinya hipertensi, salah satunya adalah obesitas.Penelitian dengan tujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara kejadian obesitas denganhipertensi ilakukan pada masyarakat etnik Minangkabau di 8 kelurahan di kotaPadang. Penelitian ini merupakan studi komparatif menggunakan desain crosssectional study, dengan jumlah sampel 204 orang. Pengumpulan data karakteritikdilakukan melalui wawancara dan pengukuran tekanan darah, berat badan, tinggibadan, dan lingkar perut dilakukan dengan cara yang direkomendasikan WHO.Analisis statistik yang digunakan adalah uji chi square dan uji Independentsample T-test.Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa lebih dari separuh penderita hipertensimengalami obesitas (56,6%) dan obesitas sentral (54,9%) terdapat hubunganbermakna antara obesitas dengan kejadian hipertensi (p<0,05; OR=1,82) danobesitas sentral dengan kejadian hipertensi (p<0,05; OR= 2,72). Uji Independentsample T-test menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan (p<0,05) dimana ada perbedaanrata-rata IMT (p= 0,025) antara responden hipertensi dan tidak hipertensi dan adaperbedaan rata-rata LP (p= 0,002) antara responden hipertensi dan tidakhipertensi.Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubngan antara kejadian obesitasdan obesitas sentral dengan hipertensi pada masyarakat etnik Minangkabau dikota Padang.Kata kunci : Hipertensi, obesitas, obesitas sentralAbstractHypertension is a common health problem in the community and lead tohigh morbidity. Many factors can lead to hypertension, one of which is obesity.The Aim of this study was investigated the relationship of obesity with theincidence of hypertension, was conducted at the Minangkabau ethnic communitiesin 8 districts in the city of Padang. This research is a comparative study using across sectional study, with a sample of 204 people. Data collection was done withthe interview respondent characteristics. Measurement of blood pressure, weight,188ARTIKEL PENELITIANheight, waist and carried out by the WHO recommended. The statistical analysisused was chi square test and independent sample t-test.Results of the study found that more than half of obese patients with hypertension(56,6%) and central obesity (54,9%). Chi-square statistical test showed there wasa significant association between obesity and the incidence of hypertension (p<0,05; OR = 1,82). Likewise with central obesity, showed a significantassociation with the incidence of hypertension (p <0,05; OR = 2,72). Abstract

Kegiatan program kemitraan masyarakat stimulus (PKMS) yang dilakukan berupa pelatihan implementasi Learning Management System (LMS)-Google Classroom dalam proses pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru SMA An-Nizam dalam menghadapi era Revolusi Industri 4,0. Jumlah peserta pelatihan ini sebanyak 25 orang guru. Target luaran kegiatan PKMS ini adalah 1) peningkatan pemahaman dan pengetahuan para guru dalam membuat konten bahan ajar, LKS hingga evaluasi penilaian berbasis LMS-Google Classroom dalam proses pembelajaran; 2) peningkatan keterampilan para guru dalam menggunakan LMS-Google Classroom; dan 3) peningkatan motivasi serta antusiasme para guru dalam menerapkan LMS-Google Classroom. Metode kegiatan PKMS ini dilakukan dalam empat tahapan. Tahap pertama adalah konfirmasi dan observasi pendahuluan pada sekolah mitra. Tahap kedua adalah pelaksanaan pelatihan yang diisi dengan turorial penggunaan LMS-Google Classroom. Tahap ketiga adalah implementasi LMS-Google Classroom yang telah dikembangkan (IN dan ON). Tahap keempat adalah evaluasi hasil implementasi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan PKMS ini diantaranya 1) para guru mampu memahami cara membuat dan mengembangkan LMS-Google Classroom baik secara konten bahan ajar hingga alat evaluasi penilaian berbasis digital; 2) para guru mampu menggunakan LMS-­Google Classroom yang telah dibuat; dan 3) para guru mampu mengundang siswa untuk bergabung dan mempelajari konten bahan ajar maupun evaluasi penilaian dalam LMS-Google Classroom secara antusias dan semangat.

Abstract

Abstrak:Pembelajaran matematika jarak jauh berbasis teknologi dapat memberikan dampak positif maupun negatif baik pada siswa maupun guru. Faktor yang memberikan dampak negatif disebabkan oleh pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang tidak memperhatikan personal factor dan personal behavior baik siswa maupun guru. Faktor lainnya adalah pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang tidak menghadirkan pembelajaran yang dekat dengan kehidupan, tradisi dan budaya sekitar siswa, sehingga siswa merasa asing dengan konten masalah dan pembelajaran yang didesain berbasis teknologi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji secara kritis terkait dampak positif dan dampak negatif yang ditinjau dari personal factor dan personal behavior pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika jarak jauh berbasis teknologi. Penelitian ini juga mengkaji apakah konteks ethnomathematics dapat diintegrasikan pada model flipped classroom dan direkomendasikan dalam pembelajaran matematika di era New Normal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis investigasi literatur review dengan 5 tahapan, yaitu(1) menyusun pertanyaan review, (2) pengumpulan data literatur, (3) penilaian kritis pada data literatur, (4) ekstraksi data: sintesis dan tematik analisis, dan (5) presentasi temuan dan diskusi. Hasil penelitian memberikan kajian analisis terkait pentingnya personal factor dan personal behavior dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran matematika jarak jauh berbasis teknologi. Hasil penelitian juga memberikan rekomendasi terkait integrasi ethomathematics yang dilaksanakan dalam model pembelajaran berbasis teknologi, salah satunya adalah flipped-classroom model. Model ethno-flipped classroom direkomendasikam sebagai model pembelajaran matematika berbasis campuran yang menggunakan teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran, namun juga tetap menghadirkan pembelajaran matematika bermakna melalui integrasi budaya menggunakan konteks ethnomathematics. Penerapan model ethno-flipped classroom dapat dijadikan salah satu solusi dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika di masa New Normal. Kata Kunci:Model Ethno-Flipped Classroom, Pembelajaran Berbasis Teknologi, Personal Factor, Personal Behavior, New Normal    Abstract:Technology-based distance learning in Mathematics can give a positive or negative impact on both students and teachers. Factors contributing to negative impact are caused by the implementation of learning that does not pay attention to personal factors and personal behavior of both students and teachers. Other factors are such as the implementation of learning that does not relate to students' life, traditions, and culture in that the problem discussed in the content and the learning designed based on technology are unfamiliar to students. This study aims to critically examine the positive and negative impacts of technology-based distance learning in Mathematics in terms of personal factors and personal behavior. This study also examines whether the ethnomathematics context can be integrated into the flipped classroom model and can be recommended in teaching mathematics in the New Normal era. This is a qualitative study with literature review investigation that has 5 stages, namely (1) compiling review questions, (2) collecting literature data, (3) critical assessment of literature data, (4) data extraction: synthesis and thematic analysis, and (5) presentation of findings and discussion. The results of the study provide an analytical study related to the importance of personal factors and personal behavior in implementing technology-based distance learning in Mathematics. The results also provide recommendations regarding the integration of ethnomathematics in technology-based learning models, including the flipped-classroom model. The ethno-flipped classroom model is recommended as a mixed-based mathematics learning model that uses technology in the learning process but also provides meaningful mathematics learning through cultural integration using ethnomathematics context. Abstract

This research was a research development with the reference Four-D model by Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel. Subject in this study were eleventh grade students in SMA YPK Medan. Student worksheets validation based on the opinion of the validator from lecturer and mathematics teacher. The practically of student worksheets was analyzed based on: (1) implementation of the used students worksheets in learning process; (2) student’s responses to worksheets developed; and (3) teacher’s responses to worksheets developed. The effectivenees of students worksheets was analyzed based on: (1) a minimum completeness mathematics student’s ability; (2) the ability of teachers to manage learning; and (3) student’s activity in learning process. The result showed that student worksheets used local-culture problem based learning in mathematics learning has been valid, practice and effective. Abstract

This community service was carried out in the form of a workshop on utilization of SPSS learning media in mathematics learning for vocational high school students in SMK PAB 12 Saentis, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang, North Sumatera. The target of this service are: 1) to increase students understanding of SPSS learning media in mathematics learning; 2) to improve students' skill in using SPSS learning media; 3) to increase students' knowledge about statistic learning which has an impact of increasing students' statistical skill; and 4) to increase students' motivation and enthusiasm in mathematic learning use SPSS learning media. This method of this community service is carried out in four stages. The first stage is the preparation for software installation. The second stage is the phase of the workshop which filled with tutorials on using SPSS until utilization of SPSS in solving statistic problem. The third stage is workshop method which includes simulation of carried out directly by participants' workshop. The fourth stage is evaluation and giving motivation. The result of this community service activities are as follows: 1) students understand about how to use SPSS in mathematics learning; 2) students are able to use SPSS learning media to solve statistic problem; and 3) students are able to use an active and interactive SPSS learning media until they can improve their statistic skill
