Abstract

The rapidly changing 21st-century society demands fundamental changes in the educational paradigm, centered on the redefinition of the teacher's role. Moving beyond mere transmitters of knowledge, teachers are now expected to become facilitators, mentors, and collaborators who unleash students' potential and foster critical thinking and creativity. This study aims to analyze the comparison of the early childhood education (PAUD) systems in Indonesia and South Korea based on four main focuses: (1) the PAUD education system, (2) the paradigm of the teacher's role, (3) teacher professional development, and (4) the transformation of digital technology in learning. This study is a literature review of ten scientific articles published from 2019–2024 from national and international journals. The results of the review indicate that both countries have the same policy direction in strengthening child-centered education and teacher professionalism, but are at different levels of implementation. South Korea has reached the stage of institutionalizing a digitally integrated and teacher-oriented PAUD system, while Indonesia is still focused on increasing basic capacity and equalizing access. These findings recommend the need for a continuous professional development system, digital literacy teachers, and cross-sectoral policies to support the transformation of early childhood education in Indonesia towards global standards.

Abstract

The implementation of comprehensive guidance and counseling in schools still needs improvement. Various factors, such as inadequate resources, can cause this shortage. This research aims to develop the MGBK MAGIC MOODLE management model to increase the professionalism of guidance and counseling teachers. This research uses a research and development methodology with a mixed methods approach. This validation process involves input from two expert validators. A small-scale trial involving 10 guidance and counseling teachers and a large-scale trial involving thirty guidance and counseling teachers. Data collection methods include interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis. The data collection instrument uses a questionnaire sheet. The data analysis techniques used are qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis. The research results show that ICT and management experts' validation results are very good. At the limited trial stage, the results showed an average score of 49.79% in the good category and 50.21% in the very good category. In the main field trial, the average score was 54.7% in the very good category, 44.6% in the good category, and 0.7% in the not good category. The results of the main field trial showed that the product effectiveness test provided very positive results. It was concluded that the MGBK MAGIC MOODLE management model successfully provided a practical impact in supporting MGBK management tasks. The MGBK MAGIC MOODLE management model has implications for enhancing the professionalism of counseling teachers through effective technology integration, thereby optimizing the implementation of comprehensive guidance and counseling in schools.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of a flipbook-assisted training model in enhancing teachers’ competence in designing deep learning–based lesson plans within the context of elementary education. The research is grounded in the growing demand for integrating pedagogical and digital competencies to support meaningful learning aligned with contemporary curriculum reforms. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed, involving 18 elementary school teachers participating in a structured training program. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test assessments, observations, questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis of lesson plans. The findings reveal a significant improvement in teachers’ competence, as indicated by increased post-test scores and the enhanced quality of lesson plans. Teachers demonstrated a shift from procedural and teacher-centered approaches toward more student-centered, structured, and reflective instructional designs. The use of flipbook media played a crucial role as a cognitive scaffold, enabling teachers to organize learning components more coherently and effectively. Furthermore, iterative training cycles supported sustained improvement through continuous reflection and refinement. These results suggest that integrating digital scaffolding with deep learning pedagogy provides a robust and practical model for teacher professional development. The study contributes theoretically by offering an integrated framework that bridges pedagogy and technology, and practically by presenting a replicable training model that can support sustainable instructional improvement in diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

The integration of local wisdom in English learning in Jayapura Regency is not optimal due to the gap between teachers' theoretical knowledge and practical skills in developing teaching materials. Factors that influence this are geographical constraints, the lack of written cultural references, and time constraints due to administrative burdens. This study aims to improve teachers' competence in developing teaching materials based on local wisdom through the Hyflex Participatory Workshop. Using the Stringer (Look, Think, Act) School Action Research method in two cycles, the study involved 35 MGMP English teachers in Jayapura Regency as subjects. This study design used a mixed method approach. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using inferential and descriptive statistics. The results showed that active participation of participants increased from 75% in Cycle I to 95% in Cycle II after optimizing hyflex learning (hybrid synchronous, online synchronous, and online asynchronous) with the help of valid and practical LMS and Flipbook guides. Teacher competence increased with an average score rising from 90.7 (pre-test) to 98.4 (post-test) and classical completeness reaching 100%. There was a significant difference in the pre-test and post-test averages based on the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with a Sig. 0.001 (<p=0.05). The action was proven effective in improving teacher competence as evidenced by an N-Gain score of 0.88 (g>0.7). This study resulted in an integrated digital teaching material bank. It was concluded that Hyflex flexibility and participatory collaboration effectively overcome technical and epistemological barriers for teachers in the English MGMP in Jayapura Regency.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the suboptimal competence of teachers in Cluster 3 of Jayapura Regency in creating digital learning media due to the existing training modules being too theoretical. This study aims to develop a digital training module to improve teachers' ability to create digital comic media with the help of Pixton and Canva. The research method uses the Research and Development (R&D) model of Borg and Gall modified by Sukmadinata, including preliminary studies, development, and product testing. The results of the validation by material and media experts show that the module is categorized as Valid with an average score of 3.06 and 3.25, respectively. The practicality test obtained a percentage of 91.07% with the Very Practical category. The effectiveness test showed a significant increase in learning outcomes from an average pre-test of 66.89 to a post-test of 90.44, with an N-Gain score of 0.71 (High Category). It is concluded that this training module is feasible, practical, and effective for improving teachers' abilities in developing visual-based learning media.
