Abstract

This study aims to unveil the effect of entrepreneurship education, curriculum, and lecturer competency on entrepreneurial grit among higher education students in Bandung. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing questionnaires as the primary data collection instrument. A total of 83 respondents, all higher education students in Bandung, participated in the survey. The data were subjected to statistical analysis to determine the impact of the three variables on entrepreneurial grit, defined as the perseverance and passion for long-term goals in entrepreneurship. The results of the analysis indicate that the curriculum does not have a significant influence on entrepreneurial grit. This suggests that the structure and content of the curriculum alone may not be sufficient to cultivate the necessary traits for entrepreneurial success. On the other hand, entrepreneurship education and lecturer competency were found to have a positive and significant impact on entrepreneurial grit. This underscores the importance of well-designed entrepreneurship education programs and the crucial role of competent lecturers in fostering and nurturing entrepreneurial qualities in students. These findings provide valuable insights for educational institutions aiming to enhance their entrepreneurship programs. By focusing on the quality of entrepreneurship education and the competencies of their lecturers, institutions can better support the development of entrepreneurial grit among their students. This study highlights the need for a more holistic approach to entrepreneurship education, where both the content and delivery by skilled educators are given priority to effectively cultivate future entrepreneurs.

Abstract

This quantitative study examines the influence of self-efficacy, verbal ability, and the English curriculum on English language proficiency among senior high school students. The research involved 96 respondents who completed questionnaires designed to measure their self-efficacy, verbal ability, perceptions of the English curriculum, and their English language proficiency levels. The data collected were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS) version 4.0 to determine the relationships among the variables. The analysis revealed that self-efficacy, often considered a crucial factor in academic performance, does not significantly impact English language proficiency in this context. This finding suggests that students' beliefs in their own capabilities to learn English might not directly translate into improved language skills. On the other hand, verbal ability was found to have a significant positive influence on English language proficiency. This indicates that students with higher verbal skills tend to perform better in English, highlighting the importance of enhancing these abilities through targeted instructional strategies. Moreover, the English curriculum also showed a significant positive effect on language proficiency. A well-structured curriculum that effectively integrates language learning objectives with practical applications appears to be a key determinant of students' success in mastering English. These results underscore the importance of curriculum development and verbal ability enhancement in educational practices. In conclusion, the study provides valuable insights into the factors that contribute to English language proficiency among senior high school students. While self-efficacy alone may not be a decisive factor, the significant roles of verbal ability and curriculum quality suggest that educational stakeholders should prioritize these areas to foster better English language outcomes. Future research could explore additional variables and longitudinal effects to further understand the dynamics of language learning in educational settings.

Abstract

Kata Kunci — konten sistem database waterfall kualitas Abstract — Along with the development of today's era and technology, humans are required to make changes, especially in the field of education. The challenges that occur in education are very complex, especially during the current covid19 pandemic. All learning is carried out online/PJJ (distance learning) to minimize the spread of the covid-19 virus. So, the impact that occurs is that all schools must change all knowledge strategies face-to-face to Online Learning (PJJ). Of course, this is not easy because several things include teachers' readiness, student, and technology resources. In addition, if learning is carried out remotely, there must be other supporting materials, one of which is quality content. Quality content must go through a review process first. However, no forum can meet the needs of the review process, so there is a need for a community-based system that can accommodate the content review process to produce quality content. In this study, a learning community database system application was developed related to developing quality content. The development of this database system application will use the waterfall method with structured programming. The stages are carried out using the waterfall method, starting from analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Meanwhile, structured programming is used when designing applications and implementing the waterfall method. So that with the application of this database system, it is hoped that the quality of the content to be published, especially in the field of education, will be guaranteed. Students will get the material as expected with quality content, especially with distance learning during this pandemic. Keywords — content, database system, waterfalls, quality
