Abstract

Sibolga City is one of the priority cities in the effort to accelerate stunting reduction. Sibolga City implements an accelerated stunting prevalence reduction program that involves cross-sectors, better known as the convergence action to accelerate stunting reduction. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the implementation of the convergence program to accelerate stunting reduction in Sibolga City. This research is a qualitative study involving 18 informants from  Regional Work Units  that are members of the Sibolga City  Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team. This research was conducted in November 2023 in Sibolga City, which consists of 4 sub-districts and 17 villages. Data were collected by conducting Focus Group Discussions and in-depth interviews. Furthermore,  Data is analyzed through triangulation of methods, sources, and between researchers. The results of the analysis of the effectiveness of the program show that the quality of human resources and financing sources is good enough to reduce the stunting rate in the kelurahan which is the locus of stunting. Likewise, the results of the analysis of the program implementation process. The program planning that was prepared was in accordance with the problems obtained in the situation analysis and had targeted the locus villages determined in the situation analysis. The implementation and evaluation process has also been carried out well, which ultimately has an impact on reducing the stunting prevalence rate by 11.3%. As an effort to encourage a greater reduction in stunting prevalence, we recommend that the Sibolga City Government increase human resource capacity and funding, encourage the involvement of various parties including the private sector in accelerating stunting reduction programs in Sibolga City, improve coordination between Regional Work Units in the planning, implementation and evaluation processes and encourage the availability of a quality and sustainable data management system in each villageKeywords: Accelerate, Convergence, Reduction, Prevalence, Stunting

Abstract

Family planning programmes are not optimal for Muslim women; this is inseparable from the view that contraception is controversial in Islamic teachings. This study aims to examine the influence of the ideal number of children, the role of husbands, the desired last child, and the type of contraception in Muslim women of childbearing age from the perspective of Islam and health. This study used data from the 2017 IDHS in Aceh, West Sumatra, Riau, West Java, Central Java, and East Java on 5797 Muslim women from January to December 2022. The results of this study showed a significant association between the ideal number of boys (p<0.001; PR = 1.332), number of daughters (p<0.001; PR = 1.289), husbands who decide (p=0.004), and contraceptive types (p<0.001; PR = 1.205) with family planning use. The family planning use is influenced by factors such as gender preference, joint decision-making, and the type of contraceptive used. Modern contraceptives are more effective and reliable, suggesting a trend toward modern methods for family planning.

Abstract

Abstract

As a result of their learning, students, teachers, and the school community practice clean and healthy living habits in the school. Problems that arise in primary schools show that students do not practice clean and healthy behaviours, such as rarely washing hands with running water and soap, rarely using healthy latrines, and rarely throwing garbage in its place, and that there are several cases of incidents such as diarrhoea, worms, typhoid, and ulcers. This study aims to identify the characteristics of clean and healthy behaviours in students at 5 Pancur Batu Primary School. Data collection techniques were carried out by distributing questionnaires on questions regarding healthy living behaviour and general questions covering health problems. The percentage of the indicator of healthy snack consumption in the school canteen has reached 81%. The percentage of indicators using clean and healthy latrines was as much as 78.6%. The percentage on the Regular and Measured Exercise indicator, obtained as much as 93.3%, looks almost perfect. Furthermore, 87.1% of the last indicator, eradicating mosquito flicks, was obtained. The percentage of students of Pancur Batu Primary School who have carried out clean and healthy living behaviour is 66.4%. Clean and Healthy Lifestyle education can increase knowledge about how to live a healthy life in the school environment so that students and students avoid disease. Abstract

Patient satisfaction is a crucial indicator in assessing the quality of health services in Community Health Centers (Puskesmas). As the primary healthcare providers at the community level in Indonesia, Puskesmas play a vital role in ensuring accessible, affordable, and comprehensive health services. High patient satisfaction not only reflects the effectiveness of healthcare delivery but also influences patient adherence to medical recommendations, trust in the healthcare system, and overall public health outcomes. Therefore, understanding the factors that determine patient satisfaction is essential for improving service quality and formulating effective healthcare policies. Quality health services in Community Health Centers are one of the main indicators in increasing patient satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the determinants of patient satisfaction with Community Health Center services in Indonesia using secondary data from the 2017 Health Manpower Research (Risnakes). The research design uses a quantitative approach with Spearman Rank correlation analysis to see the relationship between independent variables, such as speed of service, friendly attitude of officers, communication, patient rights, and quality of health service facilities, to the dependent variable, namely patient satisfaction. The results showed that speed of service had the most dominant influence on patient satisfaction (r = 0.792; p < 0.05), followed by quality of service facilities (r = 0.473; p < 0.05) and the right to choose health services (r = 0.283; p < 0.05). Other factors, such as friendliness of officers, communication, and confidentiality of patient information, showed a weak but significant relationship. Overall, the independent variables contributed 99% to the dependent variable. This study emphasizes the importance of improving the efficiency of services and physical facilities in Community Health Centers to improve patient satisfaction. These findings are expected to be a reference in formulating better health service policies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Risk factors for tuberculosis in children include lack of nutrition, HIV infection, poverty, cigarette smoke exposure, and close contact with infected individuals. Children's immune systems are less developed, making them more susceptible and causing severe complications. This study uses cross-sectional research to analyze secondary data from Indonesia's 2018 Basic Health Research study. The sample consisted of 110.465 children aged 0-14, selected randomly or based on criteria. The study used univariate analysis and chi-square bivariate analysis to determine the relationship between variables and the incidence of tuberculosis in children. Further analyses were conducted in May-June 2024 using JASP version 16.The study revealed a significant association between lighting conditions and TB incidence, with 119 cases in well-lit master bedrooms and 51 in poorly lit bedrooms. Kitchen windows also played a role. However, the study concluded that the association could be due to chance, with no strong association between adequate living room lighting and TB incidence. The study found no significant association between lighting or ventilation conditions in different house areas and tuberculosis (TB) incidence. Although slight variations were observed, these were likely due to chance. The prevalence ratios also showed no strong association between adequate lighting or ventilation and TB incidence. Public health initiatives should focus on improving housing infrastructure, ventilation, and hygiene to mitigate environmental risk factors. Further research is recommended to explore socioeconomic and geographical variations influencing TB incidence in children. Keyword: Children, Environment, Home, Tubeculosis

Abstract

Pregnancy is an important period for a mother to fulfil nutritional needs for herself and for the growth and development of the fetus because fetal nutrition depends on maternal nutrition, so the mother's nutritional needs must also be met. Inadequate energy and protein intake in pregnant women can cause Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED). This research aims to determine the food intake of pregnant women in Bagan Serdang Village Deli Serdang District. The sample was determined by purposive sampling, where pregnant women who became respondents were pregnant women with criteria experienced food insecurity, namely 20 people. Data on food intake was obtained using the 24-hour recall method and personal data through interviews with pregnant women. Data were analyzed by nutrisurvey tools to determine the amount of food intake. Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) data was measured using an upper arm circumference tape. Data analysis was done descriptively to describe the food intake of pregnant women, including energy, carbohydrate, and protein intake. The results showed that 15% of pregnant women experienced Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED), and 60% of pregnant women's energy intake was still lacking. Intake of carbohydrates and protein still falls short of the nutritional requirements for pregnant women, with 55% and 75% falling into the deficient category, respectively. For pregnant women to avoid Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED), the public health center and cadres must increase their understanding of the importance of balanced nutrition during pregnancy. Keyword: Consumption, Food intake, Food, Pregnant women
