Abstract

AbstrakTanaman krisan varietas Suciono merupakan tanaman hias yang potensial dikembangkan dan diminati oleh penduduk dunia, yang ditunjukkan dengan permintaan pasar terhadap tanaman krisan meningkat sepanjang tahun. Hal ini menyebabkan perbanyakan krisan secara in vitro sangat penting untuk dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) dan Benzly Amino Purine (BAP) terhadap multiplikasi tunas krisan varietas Suciono. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan satu faktor yakni kombinasi hormon IAA dan BAP yang 9 kombinasi, yakni 0 mg/L +  1,5 mg/L; 0 mg/L + 2 mg/L; 0 mg/L + 2,5 mg/L; 0,5 mg/L + 1,5 mg/L; 0,5 mg/L + 2 mg/L; 0,5 mg/L + 2,5 mg/L; 1 mg/L + 1,5 mg/L; 1 mg/L + 2 mg/L; dan 1 mg/L + 2,5 mg/L dimana setiap kombinasi diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Variabel yang diamati meliputi analisis histologis kalus, waktu muncul tunas, jumlah tunas, tinggi tunas, dan jumlah daun. Hasil analisis ragam atau ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi IAA 0 mg/L dan BAP 2 mg/L merupakan kombinasi konsentrasi terbaik untuk multiplikasi tunas. Penambahan BAP 2 mg/L mampu menghasilkan persentase muncul tunas. 100%, jumlah tunas 3 per-eksplan, tinggi tunas 7 cm, dan jumlah daun sebanyak 16 helai.AbstractThe variety Suciono of chrysanthemum is a potential ornamental plant that is in demand by the world's population, as indicated by the increasing market demand for chrysanthemum plants throughout the year. This  has led to the importance of in vitro propagation of chrysanthemum. The aim of the this study is to determine the effect of Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) and Benzly Amino Purine (BAP) on the multiplication of chrysanthemum shoots of the Suciono variety. The design of this study used nodus explants, treated with a combination of IAA hormones and BAP. It is make 9 combinations, and then the combinations of hormones is 0 mg/L + 1,5 mg/L; 0 mg/L + 2 mg/L; 0 mg/L + 2,5 mg/L; 0,5 mg/L + 1,5 mg/L; 0,5 mg/L + 2 mg/L; 0,5 mg/L + 2,5 mg/L; 1 mg/L + 1,5 mg/L; 1 mg/L + 2 mg/L; and 1 mg/L + 2,5 mg/L.  The observed variables included histological analysis of callus, time of shoot emergence,  number of shoots, shoots height, and number of leaves. The results of the analysis showed that the treatment with 0 mg/L IAA and 2 mg/L BAP was the best concentration for shoots multiplication. The addition of 2 mg/L BAP was able to produce a percentage of shoots emergence of 100%, 3 shoots per explant, shoots height of 7 cm and 16 leaves.

Abstract

Pisang Cavendish (Musa acuminata L.) memiliki nilai ekonomi yang tinggi dan memiliki peluang pasar yang bagus sehingga produksinya perlu ditingkatkan. Kendala yang dapat ditemukan dalam budidaya pisang adalah ketersediaan bibit yang terbatas. Salah satu alternatif untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut adalah dengan perbanyakan kultur jaringan pada media yang telah dimodifikasi dengan IAA dan BAP pada konsentrasi yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi IAA dan BAP terhadap pertumbuhan eksplan pisang pada perbanyakan secara kultur in vitro. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan Politeknik Negeri Jember, pada bulan Juli hingga November 2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Faktorial. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi IAA yang terdiri atas 2 taraf, yaitu 4 dan 5 ppm yang diperoleh dengan melarutkan IAA sebanyak 4 dan 5 mg dalam aquadest hingga 1 l. Faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi BAP yang terdiri atas 2 taraf, yaitu 8 dan 10 ppm yang yang diperoleh dengan melarutkan BAP sebanyak 8 dan 10 mg dalam aquadest hingga 1 l. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Penambahan IAA dan BAP pada media MS bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan tinggi dan jumlah tunas eksplan pisang cavendish. Penambahan 5 ppm IAA secara nyata meningkatkan tinggi tanaman pada 3 – 7 MST dan jumlah ekslan pada 7 – 12 MST dibandingkan penambahan 4 ppm IAA. Eksplan pisang cavendish yang diinokulasi pada media MS yang ditambahkan 5 ppm IAA + 8 ppm BAP menghasilkan tunas terbanyak pada 12 MST.

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne of the most popular orchids and cultivated by Indonesia and other countries is Phalaenopsis. The main disease of Phalaenopsis orchids in Indonesia is soft rot caused by bacteria Dickeya dadantii. The purpose of this study was to know the resistanctcy of Phalaenopsis hybrid to soft rot disease. The experiment was conducted at the Bacterial Plant Laboratory, Department of Plant Protection, the Greenhouse of Leuwikopo, Bogor Agricultural University, and the plastic house of Alam Sinar Sari Dramaga, Bogor from June 2014 to February 2015. The experimental design was randomized block design with three replications. Five genotypes of hybrid Phalaenopsis were tested, namely Phal. KHM 205, Phal. KHM 1126, Phal. KHM 1318, Phal. AMP 17, and Phal. KHM 2249. Phal. amabilis, Phal. esmeralda, Phal. amboinensis, and Phal. cornu-cervi were used as controls. The resistance testing was performed by inoculating bacteria D. dadantii on leaves of the orchids. The results showed all Phalaenopsis hybrid showed disease symptoms after inoculation. Phal. KHM 2249 had the lowest number of fallen leaves and the highest number of survive plants compared to the other hybrid Phalaenopsis. Survival rate was likely related to peroxidase activity and leaf thickness.Keywords: fallen leaves, leaf thickness, peroxidase, Phalaenopsis

Abstract

Kabupaten Bondowoso memiliki potensi akan produk buah–buahan salah satunya mangga. Hal itu dikarenakan mangga menjadi komoditas yang telah dibudidayakan secara turun temurun di pekarangan rumah. Namun Teknik budidaya yang dilakukan belum sesuai dengan tata cara budidaya yang baik atau Good Agricultural Practices. Tingginya potensi akan produksi mangga akan menurun jika tidak dilakukan perbaikan dalam proses budidaya. Wanita memiliki peran penting dalam proses budidaya. Pemerintah melalui penyuluh melakukan pendampingan melalui kelompok wanita tani salah satunya KWT Delima Merah yang terletak di Desa Darus Sholah. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan di Kelompok Wanita Tani Delima Merah, Kabupaten Bondowoso dengan mengikutsertakan 30 anggota. Kegiatan yang dilakukan merupakan kolaboratif aktif antara tim dan mitra dengan beberapa kegiatan utama yaitu persiapan pelaksanaan, penyuluhan, dan penerapan teknologi GAP. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi didapatkan perubahan akan pengetahuan sebesar 71% dan perubahan akan kemampuan berbudidaya sebesar 78%. Kegiatan berlangsung lancar sesuai dengan perencanaan dengan partisipasi aktif dari para anggota kelompok.

Abstract

Durian menjadi komoditas hortikultura yang menjadi primadona khususnya di Kabupaten Jember. Desa Kemuning Lor menjadi salah satu sentra durian di Lokasi pengabdian. Durian dibudidayakan secara turun temurun. Potensi tersebut tidak diiringi dengan Upaya pemasaran yang tepat, penjualan hanya dilakukan dengan menjual durian segar di pinggir jalan atau pada tengkulak sehingga pada saat panen raya harga menjadi turun drastic. Didasarkan hal tersebut, pengolahan produk turunan durian dapat menjadi Solusi peningkatan kemampuan ekonomi anggota UKM. Beberapa produk yang diolah adalah durian beku, pancake durian, dan selai durian. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan September di tahun 2025 di UKM Durian Rembangan Bersinar, Kabupaten Jember dengan jumlah peserta 30. Kegiatan ini menerapkan active participatory approach yang mengedepankan keaktifan dari para responden yang merupakan anggota dari UKM Durian Rembangan Bersinar, dengan beberapa kegiatan antara lain persiapan pelaksanaan, sosialisasi, dan penerapan teknologi. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan diketahui terdapat peningkatan sebesar 90 persen pada aspek keterampilan pengolahan, serta 79 persen pada aspek pengetahuan. Kegiatan berlangsung lancar dan penuh antusias dari para peserta.

Abstract

Water use efficiency is a critical issue in melon production, particularly under greenhouse cultivation systems. This study aimed to compare the water footprint of melon (Cucumis melo L.) production under hydroponic and conventional cultivation systems. The experiment was conducted at the Teaching Factory Smart Greenhouse, Politeknik Negeri Jember, from March to June 2023. Each cultivation system consisted of 30 sampled plants. Both systems applied drip irrigation with a nutrient solution concentration of 1400 ppm. Water footprint was calculated following Hoekstra’s method, considering only the blue water footprint, while green and grey components were assumed to be zero due to the protected greenhouse environment. The results showed that the conventional system produced greater vegetative growth, earlier generative phase development, and higher fruit diameter and weight than the hydroponic system. However, the water footprint of the conventional system was significantly higher. Differences in water footprint were mainly attributed to differences in planting area per plant, which affected plant water use calculated as evapotranspiration multiplied by planting area. The hydroponic system demonstrated higher water use efficiency per unit yield.

Abstract

Produksi durian nasional mencapai 500–700 ribu ton per tahun, dengan Kabupaten Jember menyumbang sekitar 3.402 ton. Peningkatan produksi durian di Desa Klungkung Jember, menimbulkan permasalahan lingkungan akibat penumpukan limbah kulit durian yang sulit terurai. Limbah berpotensi mencemari udara, air, dan menghasilkan gas berbahaya seperti CH₄, NH₃, dan H₂S. Kegiatan bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas dan kemandirian Kelompok Tani Hutan (KTH) Santoso. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup tahap persiapan, sosialisasi, pelatihan, implementasi, serta monitoring dan evaluasi berbasis partisipatif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan peserta, dari skor rata-rata pre-test 4 menjadi post-test 7. Uji aktivasi menunjukkan bahwa jeruk nipis menghasilkan arang aktif dengan kejernihan tertinggi dibandingkan KOH dan NaOH. Dampak kegiatan meliputi pengurangan limbah organik, peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat, serta penguatan kesadaran lingkungan. Program ini terbukti efektif dalam mengimplementasikan teknologi tepat guna berbasis potensi lokal yang mendukung ekonomi sirkular dan kesejahteraan masyarakat secara berkelanjutan

Abstract

Gotu kola (Centella asiatica L.) is a medicinal plant with high therapeutic potential, yet its cultivation in Indonesia remains underdeveloped. Excessive reliance on synthetic fertilizers poses risks to environmental sustainability and may negatively affect the quality of bioactive compounds. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of rabbit urine–based liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) and cow manure on the growth and yield of gotu kola, and to identify a sustainable fertilization strategy that supports vegetative development. The experiment was conducted using a factorial randomized group design with two factors: rabbit urine LOF concentrations (0, 100, and 200 ml/L) and cow manure dosages (0, 20, and 40 g/polybag), resulting in nine treatment combinations with three replications. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance. The results showed that rabbit urine LOF significantly influenced stolon length, with the 200 ml/L concentration consistently promoting longer stolon development compared to lower concentrations and the control. This response indicates that nutrients in rabbit urine, particularly nitrogen, enhance vegetative expansion through stolon growth. Other growth and yield parameters were not significantly affected, suggesting that the fertilization treatments primarily influenced early vegetative growth rather than yield formation. These findings demonstrate that integrating rabbit urine LOF with cow manure has potential as an environmentally friendly fertilization approach for sustainable gotu kola cultivation.

Abstract

Chrysanthemums (Chrysanthemum spp.) are a floricultural commodity with high economic value and widespread demand as both cut flowers and ornamental plants. However, chrysanthemums generally grow optimally in highlands with cool temperatures, so their cultivation in lowlands faces various physiological constraints, such as decreased flower quality, delayed flowering, and impaired nutrient absorption.  This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different NPK fertilizer dosages and types of Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs) on soil nutrient availability (N, P, K), phenolic content, and flowering development of chrysanthemums cultivated in lowlands. The research was conducted in July–October 2024 at the greenhouse of the Jember State Polytechnic Plant Laboratory (±89 m above sea level) using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors: NPK 16-16-16 fertilizer dosage (N1 = 4 g/L, N2 = 5 g/L, N3 = 6 g/L) and PGR types (P1 = paclobutrazol, P2 = gaviota, P3 = BAP). The observed variables included soil NPK content, leaf phenolics, flower number, flower diameter, and chlorophyll. The results showed that PGR had a more dominant effect than fertilizer dosage. The N3P3 treatment produced the highest phenolic content (0.257%), while the N1P1 combination increased soil nitrogen accumulation (0.566%), and the N2P3 combination provided the highest phosphorus (0.338%) and potassium (0.190%). The NPK fertilizer dosage did not significantly affect all parameters, while PGR significantly affected the flowering time and flower number. No interaction was found between the two treatment factors.
