Abstract

Abstract. Along with the rising influence of Japanese in many spheres of life, many language learners around the world have learned Japanese. Kyoukasho, which means "Japanese language textbooks," are the main books that people who don't speak Japanese use to learn Japanese. Many features of Japanese linguistics may be found in Kyoukasho, one of which is subclause construction. A compound sentence in Japanese must include linking elements. These elements connect the subclause to the main clause. As a result, the purpose of this research is to discover how Kyoukasho explains the use of connecting constituents of time in subclause to form compound sentences. Thistudy is necessary because it can assist Japanese learners in better understanding sentence construction. This was a literary study that used a descriptive-qualitative approach. To obtain the result, data were obtained from six Kyoukasho regularly used by Indonesian higher education institutions to teach Japanese and evaluated using agih and matching analytical approaches. This study drew two conclusions about the use of linking constituents: their use in the sequence of events and their use in the temporal order. There were three events completed for the sequence of events, namely: after, before, and concurrent events, and four orders concluded for the time order, namely: starting-ending, starting, ending, and neutral. Aside from this, this study discovered that the duration of the actions in the concurrent event affects the structure as well. The event is divided into three categories here: open-closed, complete, and partial. Keywords: Time Subclause, Constituents, Japanese Grammars

Abstract

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the Japanese conversation skills of students at SMK Antartika 2 Sidoarjo (Antartika 2 Vocational School in Sidoarjo) by providing training in the use of aizuchi in kaiwa (conversation). The training was conducted in a workshop format involving material presentation, conversation demonstrations, group practice, and student presentations. Evaluation results showed a significant improvement in students’ understanding of aizuchi, from 25% before the training to 100% after. Moreover, students expressed high enthusiasm to participate in similar activities in the future. The applied training model was found to be engaging and well-suited to the students’ learning styles. This activity is expected to serve as a starting point in fostering students’ interest in learning Japanese language and culture.

Abstract

Shallots (Allium cepa L. var. aggregatum) are an important horticultural commodity in Indonesia whose production is highly susceptible to drought stress. This study aims to evaluate the effect of salicylic acid (SA) induction on improving morphological traits and yield components traits under drought conditions and to analyze genetic variability in five shallot varieties. The experimental design used was a Completely Randomized Design-Split Plot Design with 3 replications. The main plot treatment was the variety factor (V) and the subplot factor was the salicylic acid concentration factor (S). The V factor consisted of 5 varieties, namely V1 = Bima Brebes, V2 = Bima Juna, V3 = Tajuk, V4 = Nganjuk Bauci and V5 = Superphilip. While the S factor consisted of 2 levels, namely S0 = without SA (control), and S1 = 1 mM salicylic acid. Each treatment combination was planted under drought stress conditions. The parameters observed included Leaf length , Leaf Number/clump/, dry leaf weight, dry root weight, bulbs number, dry bulbs weight. And dry bulbs weight/clump. Data analysis was carried out using ANOVA and continued with Duncan's advanced test at the 5% level to determine differences between treatments, in addition to calculations of genetic and phenotypic variance, genetic diversity coefficients and broad-sense heritability estimates. The results of the study confirmed that salicylic acid can improve morphological traits and yield components in all varieties. The V1 variety (Bima Brebes) resulting from SA induction tends to have the best improvement in both morphology and yield components. The genetic diversity coefficient has a value ranging from 8.32-31.66%, where high values of Genetic Variation Coefficient (GVC) (>20%) are found in the traits of leaf number/clump, dry leaf weight, dry root weight, bulbs number, dry bulbs weight and dry bulbs weight/clump. Traits with high GVC values can possibly be used as selection parameters. In addition, high broad-sense heritability values (>50%) were found for the Leaf Number/clump, bulbs dry weight, and bulbs dry weight/clump, with estimated values of 52.37%, 50.67%, and 60.19%, respectively. The high broad-sense heritability estimates indicate that these three traits are predominantly genetically controlled.
