Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk pengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran tipe teams games tournament terhadap kemampuan menulis teks deskriptif siswa kelas VII SMP N 18 Medan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif eksperimen dengan desain penelitian One Group Pretest dan Posttest Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa VII, sedangkan yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VII-11 dengan jumlah siswa 30 orang yang ditentukan dengan teknik cluster sumpling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Setelah dilakukan penelitian eksperimen untuk pretest dan posttest menggunakan model kooperatif tipe teams games tournament diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretest 45,16 dan nilai rata-rata posttest 81,16. Hasil uji persyaratan data prettest dan posttest menyatakan sampel terdistribusi Normal dan Homogen. Dari hasil pengujian hipotesis dalam penelitian ini dilakukan uji “t” pada taraf signifikan 5% yaitu df = N1+N2, df =30+30- 2 = 60-2= 58. Dari df 58 diperoleh taraf signifikan 5% = 1,67155 Ttabel. Hasil perhitungan yang dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa Thitung > Ttabel 12.1212 >1,67155. Maka hipotesis nihil (Ho) ditolak dan hipotesis (Ha) diterima. Dengan demikian,dapat dinyatakan kemampuan menulis teks deskriptif berpengaruh menggunakan model pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe teams games tournament.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning Terhadap Keterampilan Menulis Teks Diskusi Pada Siswa-Siswi Kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Pangaribuan Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian two grup pretest dan posttest design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX yang berjumlah 150 siswa-siswi yang didistribusikan menjadi 6 kelas yang ditentukan dengan teknik cluster sampling dan yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas IX-2 sebanyak 30 siswa dan IX-5 sebanyak 30 siswa yang ditentukan dengan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas menggunakan uji F, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis. Setelah dilakukan penelitian untuk eksperimen pretest dan posttest Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning, diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretest yaitu 48,8 dengan simpangan baku 11,28 dan nilai rata-rata pada posttest yaitu 81,2 dengan simpangan baku 15,68. Dari hasil pengujian hipotesis dalam penelitian ini dilakukan uji “t” pada taraf signifikan ⍺ =0,05, diperoleh thitung > ttabel (3,71 > 2,041), dengan demikian bahawa H0 ditolak, dan Ha diterima. Hasil uji prasyarat data pretest dan posttest menyatakan sampel terdistribusi normal dan homogen.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the Addie modeled differentiated approach with Prezi media in biographical text learning in phase E. This study uses a quantitative experimental research method with a Two Group Post Test Only Control Design. The population in this study was all 60 students of class X. This study used two classes, namely the control class and the experimental class. The data analysis techniques used were normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. After conducting research for experiments in the control and experimental classes with the implementation of the Addie modeled differentiated approach with Prezi media, the average value of the control class was 64 with a standard deviation of 42 and the average value of the experimental class was 89 with a standard deviation of 60. The results of the prerequisite test for the control and experimental class data stated that the samples were normally distributed and homogeneous. From the results of the research hypothesis testing, a "t" test was carried out at a significance level of α = 0.05, obtained Thitung> Ttabel = (14.12286> 1.67155). Thus, it was concluded that there was a significant influence on the implementation of the Addie modeled differentiated approach with Prezi media on biographical text learning in phase E.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the lexical features, rhetorical elements and character studies in the novel Sesuk by Tere Liye. This novel contains various lexical features and language styles, which enrich the reading experience. In terms of diction, the use of connotative and descriptive words provides deeper meaning and helps readers imagine the situation described. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method. The results show that language styles such as simile, metaphor, and personification add depth to the meaning and imagery in the story, allowing readers to feel the character's mood. The theme of this novel focuses on the responsibility and maturity of a girl who faces various life challenges, with a progressive storyline and slowly developing tension. The setting and first point of view help readers understand the feelings of the main character, Gadis, more intimately. The study implications, including the importance of affection and responsibility, are very relevant and invite readers to reflect on family values and the impact of our actions. With a subtle delivery, Sesuk invites readers to better understand interpersonal relationships and moral valuesthat exist in everyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using Padlet media in enhancing the biographical writing skills of Grade X students at SMA Negeri 7 Medan during the 2024/2025 academic year. The initial problem identified was the low level of students' writing skills, particularly in aspects such as idea organization, biographical plot arrangement, language use, and spelling accuracy. Of the 36 students who became the research sample, selected through a simple random sampling technique, 80% obtained scores below the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). This study employed a one-group pretest–posttest design, where students received a pretest and a posttest after implementing Padlet as a learning medium. The assessment instrument covered five main aspects, namely orientation, problem events, reorientation, language use, and writing style. The results showed a significant improvement in all aspects of writing skills. The students' average score increased from 57.58 in the pretest to 75.05 in the posttest. The results of the paired t-test show that t_count = 9.8184 is greater than t_table = 1.66691 at a significance level of 0.05, so the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. These findings suggest that Padlet effectively enhances students' writing skills through its collaborative features, visual workspaces, and easy feedback, allowing students to compose and revise texts in a more structured manner. Thus, this study confirms that Padlet is a relevant and efficient digital media to support learning to write biographical texts. Further research is recommended to employ an experimental design with a control group and a larger sample size.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using the Perplexity application media based on artificial intelligence (AI) on the ability to write news texts of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 37 Medan. The study population included all seventh-grade students in the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 255 people, and was divided into eight classes. From this population, a sample of 31 students from class VII-H was taken through a random sampling technique. The research method used was a one-group pretest-posttest design, with the data collection instrument in the form of a news text writing assignment test. The results of the analysis showed that the average pretest score of students before using the Perplexity AI application was 45.16, while the average posttest score after using the application increased to 65.32. The normality test using the Lilliefors method produced an L-count value of 0.120 for the pretest and 0.116 for the posttest, while the L-table at a significance level of 0.05 was 0.159. Thus, both data sets were normally distributed. The homogeneity test shows Fcount = 0.67 and Ftable = 1.84, so the data is declared homogeneous because Fcount <Ftable. Furthermore, the t-test results show tcount of 4.87 with ttable at a significance level of 0.05 of 1.67. Because tcount> ttable (4.87> 1.67), the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Based on these results, the use of the AI-based Perplexity application media has a positive and effective effect in improving the news text writing skills of class VII students of SMP Negeri 37 Medan in the 2024/2025 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model with Nearpod media on the drama writing skills of eleventh-grade students at SMK Telkom 1 Medan in the 2024/2025 academic year. This research was motivated by students' low drama writing skills, which are caused by a lack of varied learning methods and minimal use of interactive media. The research method employed was quantitative, with an experimental approach using a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study population included all 205 eleventh-grade students, while the sample consisted of 36 students selected as the experimental group. Data were collected through drama writing ability tests before and after the treatment, then analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t-tests. The results showed a significant improvement in students' drama writing skills after implementing the PjBL model with Nearpod. The average pretest score was 65.83, with a standard deviation of 10.03, and increased to 81.38, with a standard deviation of 8.70, in the posttest. The hypothesis test shows that the calculated t-value is greater than the t-table value (0.7300 > 0.6669), so it is concluded that the implementation of the PjBL model assisted by Nearpod has a significant effect on students' drama text writing skills. This model has been proven effective in enhancing creativity, collaboration, and student engagement during the learning process. Therefore, the combination of PjBL and Nearpod is recommended as an innovative learning strategy to improve students' writing competencies at the vocational education level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tindak tutur lokusi dan ilokusi dalam cerpen “Corat-Coret di Toilet” karya Eka Kurniawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana elemen-elemen bahasa digunakan untuk menyampaikan kritik sosial dalam konteks interaksi mahasiswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan terhadap dialog dan coretan yang terdapat dalam cerpen. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Abstrak ditulis dalam bahasa Indonesia. lokusi berfungsi sebagai pernyataan eksplisit yang mencerminkan pendapat dan ajakan, sementara ilokusi mengungkapkan maksud yang lebih dalam, seperti kekecewaan dan seruan untuk perubahan. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa penggunaan tindak tutur dalam cerpen ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat komunikasi, tetapi juga sebagai sarana untuk menyampaikan aspirasi dan kritik terhadap keadaan sosial-politik. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada kajian pragmatik dan sastra dengan menyoroti pentingnya tindak tutur dalam memahami dinamika komunikasi di masyarakat kontemporer.

Abstract

Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah menganalisis dampak interferensi bahasa daerah dan bahasa asing terhadap penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia baku yang termanifestasi dalam kesalahan berbahasa pada papan nama dan iklan di Kecamatan Medan Maimun. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif dengan kerangka Analisis Kesalahan Berbahasa (AKB) terhadap korpus data teks visual. Hasil analisis terhadap 14 temuan kesalahan pada tataran Fonologi/Ejaan, Semantik, dan Sintaksis menunjukkan bahwa seluruh penyimpangan disebabkan oleh tekanan linguistik dwi-arah. Pola kesalahan terbagi menjadi Interferensi Horizontal dari bahasa lisan/lokal (Batak & Melayu Medan) yang memicu singkatan non-baku dan ambiguitas semantik; serta Interferensi Vertikal dari bahasa asing (Inggris) yang memicu transfer leksikal dalam konteks komersial. Secara esensial, temuan ini menggarisbawahi adanya kerentanan normatif pada Bahasa Indonesia baku di ruang publik metropolitan. Simpulan ini menegaskan urgensi intervensi regulatif dan edukatif untuk memastikan konsistensi kaidah di tengah kompleksitas sosiolinguistik Kota Medan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap representasi pendekatan humanistik dalam novel Manusia dan Badainya karya Syahid Muhammad. Permasalahan penelitian berfokus pada bagaimana perjalanan batin tokoh utama merefleksikan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan dalam menghadapi trauma, krisis identitas, dan pencarian makna hidup. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan humanistik. Data berupa kutipan naratif dan dialog tokoh dianalisis melalui teknik baca dan catat serta interpretasi tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan humanistik terepresentasi melalui proses perkembangan psikologis tokoh yang berlangsung secara bertahap, meliputi konflik batin, penerimaan diri, kemandirian emosional, kebebasan memilih, relasi sosial berbasis empati, dan pemaknaan hidup. Novel ini menegaskan bahwa penderitaan tidak menjadi akhir perjalanan manusia, melainkan ruang transformasi menuju pertumbuhan diri dan kesadaran eksistensial. Dengan demikian, Manusia dan Badainya merepresentasikan sastra sebagai medium refleksi kemanusiaan yang menekankan potensi manusia untuk pulih, berkembang, dan membangun makna hidup secara berkelanjutan.
