Abstract

The success of adequate nutritional fulfillment during the First 1,000 Days of Life is strongly influenced by parental attitudes in decision-making related to maternal dietary patterns during pregnancy, exclusive breastfeeding, and complementary feeding practices (complementary foods for breastfed infants); however, nutrition practices in accordance with recommended guidelines remain suboptimal, indicating the need for effective educational strategies. This study aimed to analyze the effect of booklet-based nutrition education during the First 1,000 Days of Life on parental attitudes at the Benteng Primary Health Care Center (UPT Puskesmas Benteng). A pre-experimental study design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach was conducted from August to September 2025 among 104 parents with children aged 0–24 months, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using an attitude questionnaire administered before and after the booklet-based nutrition education intervention and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results demonstrated a substantial increase in positive parental attitudes, from 7.7% at pretest to 88.5% at posttest, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of booklet-based nutrition education on parental attitudes. These findings confirm that booklet media are effective in enhancing positive parental attitudes toward nutritional fulfillment during the First 1,000 Days of Life and are recommended as an applicable nutrition education medium in primary health care settings.

Abstract

Abstract

This article aims to examine the transformation of the Qur’an from oral tradition to written manuscript as a pivotal event in the history of Islamic civilization. This process involved rigorous methodological steps and visionary strategic decisions, particularly during the caliphates of Abu Bakr and Uthman ibn Affan. Using a qualitative approach based on library research, this study explores the methods of compilation, verification, and standardization of the Qur’anic manuscripts, as well as their impact on the development of Islamic sciences and the unity of the Muslim community. The codification of the Qur’an not only preserved the authenticity of divine revelation across generations but also facilitated the spread of Islamic civilization to diverse regions worldwide. In the modern context, the digitalization of the Qur’an enhances accessibility but presents new challenges, such as ensuring the authenticity of texts in the digital era. This study provides a profound understanding of the relevance of Qur’anic codification as a foundation for Islamic scholarship and identity.

Abstract

The Bapapai tradition is a wedding bathing ritual of the Banjar tribe in Betara District that symbolizes physical and spiritual purification before marriage. The existence of this ritual contains syncretism between pre-Islamic beliefs and Islamic values, prompting the need to examine the form of acculturation between Islamic law and customs in its practice. This study aims to analyze the process, transformation of meaning, and the position of the Bapapai tradition from the perspective of Islamic law. The research method used is qualitative with a socio-legal and ethnographic approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation in Betara District, then analyzed using the Maqashid Syariah lens. The results show that Bapapai functions as a rite of passage and a symbol of prayer for household blessings. A transformation of meaning has occurred from mystical to religious practice, where pre-Islamic elements such as offerings have been adapted with prayers, salawat, and zikir. From the Maqashid Syariah perspective, this tradition is categorized as 'Urf Shahih (valid custom) and an aspect of Tahsiniyat (perfection of aesthetics and ethics) as it supports mental health and does not conflict with sharia as long as it remains free from shirk and maintains modesty. The conclusion confirms that the Bapapai tradition in Betara District is a form of harmonious acculturation that integrates Islamic values into local culture without losing the ancestral identity of the Banjar tribe.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the shared reading method in improving reading comprehension skills among elementary school students. The research was conducted through a literature review of ten articles published in national journals between 2020 and 2025, focusing on the application of shared reading in reading instruction. The findings indicate that shared reading enhances students’ comprehension, reading interest, and oral language skills by providing interactive, collaborative, and enjoyable learning experiences. It also fosters independent reading habits and positively influences students’ motivation. However, challenges such as low motivation, limited access to reading materials, and reliance on conventional teaching methods remain. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers integrate shared reading regularly using creative media, schools provide adequate literacy facilities, and future researchers develop technology-based learning models combined with shared reading to expand its effectiveness

Abstract

The Mandar tribe of West Sulawesi maintains well-preserved cultural traditions, including the ritualized use of diverse plant species imbued with symbolic values (ussul) and local ecological knowledge. This study aimed to: (1) identify plant species utilized in the wedding and seven-month ceremonies of the Mandar people in Majene Regency; (2) analyze the symbolic significance (ussul) of each plant from the Mandar cultural perspective based on the Relative Frequency of Citation (RFC) index; and (3) develop an ethnobotanical e-catalog using the ADDIE model as a biology learning resource on biodiversity for Grade X senior high school students. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and documentation involving 21 key informants (customary leaders, traditional shamans, and community members) in the Mangge and Kalasa neighborhoods of Totoli Village, Banggae District, Majene Regency, from April to July 2025. Plant identification was conducted using PlantNet, Plants of the World Online (POWO), and Plantamor. Results revealed 21 species from 16 families in the wedding ceremony and 9 species from 8 families in the seven-month ceremony, predominantly herbs and trees. Seven species recorded the highest RFC values (RFC = 1.00): Cocos nucifera, Piper betle, Areca catechu, Curcuma longa, Oryza sativa, Musa sp., and Eragrostis tenella, each bearing distinct ussul reflecting the philosophy of Mandar life. The findings were compiled into an e-catalog developed through the Analysis, Design, and Development stages of the ADDIE model, validated as highly valid (M = 4.62 out of 5.0) by subject-matter and cultural experts, and deemed suitable as a biology learning resource on biodiversity.

Abstract

Bullying remains a prevalent social problem in school environments, including at SMAN 09 Bombana, particularly affecting students with disabilities as a vulnerable group. Based on field observations and direct interactions, bullying occurs predominantly in verbal and social forms, often perceived as normal behavior among students. This study aims to identify the forms, impacts, and prevention efforts of bullying toward students with disabilities through socialization activities. The method used is a participatory counseling approach involving socialization, interactive discussions, case simulations, integration into classroom learning, and collaboration with the school and the Bombana Police Department. The results indicate that bullying still occurs in the form of mocking, negative labeling, excessive joking, and social exclusion. However, after the implementation of the program, there was a significant decrease in bullying cases and positive behavioral changes among students. Students demonstrated increased awareness, the ability to distinguish between jokes and bullying, improved empathy, and more inclusive social interactions. The involvement of teachers, parents, and the police contributed to strengthening both preventive and educational aspects, including legal awareness. Therefore, the socialization program is effective as an initial step in reducing bullying and creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment. However, continuous and collaborative efforts are required to ensure sustainable prevention
