Abstract

This study investigates research trends on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) from 2021 to 2025. A systematic review methodology was employed following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, resulting in the inclusion of 34 peer-reviewed Scopus-indexed articles. The findings reveal that quantitative research approaches, particularly experimental and quasi-experimental designs, dominate the field. Higher education institutions serve as the primary research settings, while studies at the madrasah, Islamic boarding school (pesantren), and early childhood Islamic education levels remain underrepresented. The primary purposes of AI integration identified in the literature center on enhancing learning outcomes, personalizing instruction, and supporting assessment in educational contexts applicable to IRE. Most studies recommend broader AI adoption accompanied by strong ethical frameworks, teacher training, and institutional support recommendations directly relevant to the development of Islamic Religious Education learning environments. This review highlights a critical gap: very few studies explicitly contextualize AI integration within IRE settings, suggesting a significant opportunity for research that integrates Islamic values and pedagogical principles with AI-driven educational innovations. Findings provide a roadmap for Islamic education researchers, madrasah administrators, and IRE curriculum developers seeking to leverage AI responsibly and equitably

Abstract

Sekumur Village, located in Sekerak District, Aceh Tamiang Regency, is an area with a high vulnerability to flooding and environmental sanitation issues. Low levels of disaster mitigation literacy, along with suboptimal household sanitation practices, increase health and safety risks for the community, particularly among vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly. This Community Service Program aims to strengthen disaster mitigation literacy and community sanitation resilience through a multi-grade, cross-generational approach that involves children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly within a unified community learning ecosystem. The methods employed include participatory education, cross-generational discussions, healthy sanitation practices, and family-based disaster simulation activities. The program is implemented through preparation, execution, and evaluation stages, involving village authorities and community cadres as key partners. The main outcomes of this program are increased community knowledge and awareness regarding disaster mitigation and healthy sanitation, the development of clean and safe living behaviors, and the establishment of an applicable and sustainable cross-generational community education model. This program is expected to serve as a foundation for strengthening Sekumur Village as a disaster-resilient and healthy village that can be replicated in other regions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of cognitive presence among lecturers and students in MOOCs-based online learning at ICE Institute using the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework. The study employed a quantitative descriptive approach. The instrument was adapted from the CoI Survey and validated through expert judgment. The respondents consisted of 38 students and 10 lecturers who actively participated in courses at ICE Institute during the odd semester of 2024. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with the criterion that respondents had completed at least four weeks of lectures. Data were analyzed using descriptive percentage statistics and proportion difference tests. The results showed that 80% of lecturers were categorized as having a high level of cognitive presence, while only 50% of students reached a similar level. Furthermore, 47.3% of students were categorized at a moderate level and 2.7% at a low level. This 30% gap indicates differences in perception and cognitive capacity between lecturers and students. Lecturers were considered highly competent in designing learning activities based on critical reflection; however, students had not fully utilized these opportunities. The study recommends the need for pedagogical interventions such as cognitive scaffolding, collaborative project-based learning, and self-regulated learning training for MOOCs students.

Abstract

This study explores university students' perceptions of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in evaluating discussion activities within Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Using a quantitative cross-sectional survey, data were collected from 112 undergraduate students who had participated in AI-assisted discussion forums across four MOOCs. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze students' perceptions of MOOCs and AI-assisted evaluation, followed by inferential tests to examine differences across demographic variables. Findings indicate that students hold generally positive perceptions of MOOCs, particularly regarding their flexibility, ease of use, and structured learning design. Students also evaluated discussion forums as relevant, understandable, and motivating. Although students showed moderate acceptance of AI involvement in evaluation, ethical concerns remained evident. Inferential analysis showed no significant differences in perceptions across most demographic variables, with the exception of employment status, which influenced perceptions of AI-assisted evaluation. The study highlights the need for ethical, transparent, and pedagogically aligned implementation of AI in online learning assessment

Abstract

Indonesia's high disaster vulnerability significantly impacts elementary school students' physical and psychosocial well-being. Post-disaster, children often experience declines in physical fitness, fundamental movement skills, anxiety, and social interaction—directly affecting their learning readiness. This study aimed to develop and examine the effectiveness of a Deep Learning Pedagogical and Ecopedagogy-Based Fundamental Movement Learning Model (DL-Eco Model) as a holistic recovery intervention for post-disaster elementary school students. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) design with the ADDIE framework, the model was developed through systematic analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Effectiveness was tested using a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design across four elementary schools in one disaster-affected province (n ≈ 120 students, grades IV–V). Instruments included the Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) test, the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (TKJI), the Child Resilience Scale, and the Psychosocial Well-being Scale. Content validity was established using Aiken's V (≥ 0.80), and data were analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics (independent t-test, ANCOVA, Cohen's d, and N-Gain). The DL-Eco Model integrates four instructional phases: experience orientation, movement exploration, meaningful reflection, and ecological action. This integration simultaneously addresses motor competence, reflective learning, social development, and ecological awareness—filling a conceptual and methodological gap in disaster-responsive physical education. The model is expected to contribute to the advancement of disaster-responsive pedagogy and broaden Physical Education's role as a school-based holistic recovery instrument.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG) is a 2026 national strategic policy aimed at improving the quality of Indonesian Human Resources (HR) from an early age. Universitas Terbuka (UT) carried out Community Service (PkM) activities at the Al-Kautsar Islamic Boarding School Foundation in Pamulang, South Tangerang, with the aim of accompanying the implementation of the program scientifically and structurally. The main problems faced were the lack of understanding among the school kitchen managers regarding the diversification of balanced nutritious menus, hygiene standardization, and food management based on local ingredients. The implementation method comprises four stages: field observation, education through the “Isi Piringku” workshop, action accompaniment in menu preparation, and regular monitoring. The results showed an 88.9% increase in nutritional literacy of managers based on pre-test and post-test results, the formation of nutritionally standardized weekly menus, and significant improvement of kitchen sanitation systems. This collaboration proves that universities can be effective catalysts in the success of government programs in religious-based educational institutions, while contributing to improving the nutritional status and learning achievement of students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of e-learning on junior high school students’ learning outcomes in Lampung Province and identify experiences and challenges in digital learning. The study employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were collected from 300 students using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed through multiple linear regression, while qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews with teachers and students and analyzed using thematic analysis. The research results indicate that the intensity of digital learning use and the quality of interaction have a significant impact on student learning outcomes, accounting for 62% of the variation. Qualitative findings suggest that digital learning offers flexibility in learning; however, challenges remain in the form of limited direct interaction and variations in students’ digital literacy. The integrated results indicate that the effectiveness of digital learning is determined not only by technological aspects but also by the quality of pedagogical interactions and user readiness. In conclusion, digital learning has proven effective in improving student learning outcomes, but its effectiveness is highly dependent on interaction and digital literacy factors; therefore, continuous strengthening of learning strategies and the development of digital competencies are necessary.
