Abstract

Indonesia, as the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, places great importance on the need for halal products, particularly in food and beverage consumption. The halal label is now seen not only as a religious requirement but also as a symbol of trust, quality, and cleanliness. However, in minority Muslim communities such as in Candikuning Village, Bedugul, Bali, challenges arise in ensuring the halalness of daily consumption amidst the dominance of non-Muslim business operators. This study aims to understand how the Muslim community in Candikuning Village interprets the halal label, both in its formal form (MUI certification) and symbolic form (Islamic identity of food stalls), and how these perceptions influence their consumption decisions. This research uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. An ethnographic approach is used to explore the meaning behind halal consumption practices within the local socio-cultural context. The findings are expected to contribute conceptually to the study of Muslim consumer behavior and serve as a foundation for business actors and certification bodies in formulating more contextual and inclusive halal labeling and education strategies, particularly in multicultural regions such as Bali. This research employs a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods to explore perceptions of the halal label in the consumption practices of the Muslim minority in Candikuning Village, Bali. The results show that the Muslim community in Candikuning interprets the halal label not only as a religious requirement but also as a symbol of trust, cleanliness, and moral responsibility. Both official halal labels and informal Islamic symbols are used as consumption guidelines, reflecting religious awareness and caution in a multicultural environment.

Abstract

Background: The digital era has markedly increased adolescents’ exposure to explicit content, including pornography, raising significant concerns regarding its impact on sexual and reproductive health. This is particularly critical among female adolescents in Indonesia, where access to comprehensive sexual education remains limited. Objective: This study aims to examine the exposure of female adolescents to pornographic content, with a focus on patterns of media consumption and their implications for reproductive health. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 58 female adolescents aged 13 to 18 years in Karanganyar, Indonesia. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistical methods to identify patterns of media usage and exposure to pornography. Results: The findings indicated that the internet and handheld devices were the predominant sources of media consumption (96.6%), significantly contributing to exposure to pornographic material (86.2% and 96.6%, respectively). Television and print media also played contributory roles, particularly through soap operas and Western films. Exposure to pornography was associated with limited awareness of reproductive health, especially among younger participants. The exposure was further linked to distorted perceptions of sexual behavior, negative body image, and potential psychological consequences such as anxiety and low self-esteem. Conclusion: This study highlights the urgent need for targeted interventions to enhance critical media literacy and provide comprehensive sexual education for adolescents. Addressing these issues is essential to mitigate the adverse effects of pornography exposure on reproductive health, while taking into account cultural and contextual factors. Future research should investigate the longitudinal effects and gender-specific outcomes to inform the development of tailored preventive strategies. Keywords: adolescents; pornography; media exposure; reproductive health; sexual education

Abstract

A number of factors, including nutritional status, family history, menstrual age, and duration of menstruation, can contribute to menstrual pain, which is characterized by lower abdominal or back pain that occurs before or during the menstrual cycle. Menstrual pain can also cause anxiety and discomfort. The purpose of this research is to ascertain the association between the occurrence of menstrual discomfort in female students at SMAN 2 Aceh Barat and their nutritional state, family history, menstrual age, and monthly length. With a cross-sectional design and a quantitative analytical research methodology, the Lemeshow formula yielded a sample size of 156 individuals. A questionnaire including questions about family history, early menstrual age, monthly length, and numerical rating scale (NRS) assessment is the tool used. The Chi-Square test is the analysis that is used. The findings indicated that, among female students at SMAN 2 Aceh Barat, there was no significant correlation between the occurrence of menstrual discomfort and nutritional status (p-value = 0.814> 0.05). The occurrence of menstruation discomfort among female students at SMAN 2 Aceh Barat was significantly correlated with family history (p-value = 0.003<0.05). The occurrence of menstrual discomfort among female students at SMAN 2 Aceh Barat was significantly correlated with menstrual age (p-value = 0.000<0.05). A p-value of 0.000<0.05 indicated a correlation between the length of menstruation and the prevalence of menstrual discomfort among female students at SMAN 2 Aceh Barat. According to the researcher, teenage females should become more knowledgeable and conscious of reproductive health, particularly as it relates to monthly discomfort. Teenagers who go through menstruation and have a family history of menstrual discomfort should be especially watchful and take preventative action early on. This includes controlling stress, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, exercising often, and using painkillers when needed.

Abstract

Tui Na massage is a form of complementary therapy based on acupressure that is effective in overcoming appetite disorders in toddlers. In addition to increasing appetite, this massage also strengthens the emotional connection between children and parents through gentle touch and positive pressure, which can prevent psychological problems in children (Putri & Megasari, 2022). As a non-pharmacological method, Tui Na massage can stimulate increased appetite so that children's nutritional needs can be optimally met. Eating difficulties in toddlers are characterized by behavior of refusing food, choosing types of food (picky eaters), eating in small portions, and long meal durations. This condition has an impact on the child's nutritional status, which is indicated by weight that does not match the growth chart, or even decreases. Children with eating problems also tend to get tired easily, are less active, and have difficulty concentrating. The three main factors that cause eating difficulties in toddlers include decreased appetite, digestive tract disorders, and eating disorders, especially oral motor disorders. This community service activity was carried out directly with the stages of pre-test knowledge about Tui Na Massage, counseling and distribution of leaflets, demonstration of Tui Na Massage techniques, question and answer sessions, post-tests, and documentation. The instruments used included questionnaires for pre- and post-tests, educational media in the form of leaflets, phantom dolls, and massage oil.
