Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of free cash flow, profitability, and liquidity on dividend policy in pharmaceutical and chemical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2017-2021. Dividend policy is one of the important decisions in a company that can affect shareholder satisfaction and market performance. The method used in this study is multiple regression analysis to identify the relationship between independent variables (free cash flow, profitability, and liquidity) and dependent variables (dividend policy). The data used were taken from the annual reports of companies listed on the IDX in the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors. The results of the study indicate that free cash flow and profitability have a significant effect on dividend policy, while liquidity does not have a significant effect. This finding indicates that pharmaceutical and chemical companies tend to provide dividends based on their available cash surplus and their level of profitability, while liquidity is not a major determinant in their dividend policy. This study provides additional insight for corporate managers and investors regarding the factors that influence dividend decisions in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

Abstract

Abstract

Exports of mining products generate substantial state revenue through export duties and taxes. This income can be used to finance national development in various fields such as infrastructure, education and health. Apart from that, mining products contribute to strengthening Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves, which in turn helps maintain macroeconomic stability. This research was conducted to analyze factors that could influence the growth of exports of Indonesian mining products. The dependent variable used in this research is the value of mining exports and the dependent variables are the dollar exchange rate, inflation rate and interest rates. The research was conducted in Indonesia with data taken for the period from 2010 to 2023. The data sources used were secondary data obtained from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics and Bank Indonesia. Data analysis uses the help of e-views software by carrying out multiple regression analysis tests. The results of this research prove that inflation and interest rate variables influence exports of Indonesian mining products. The exchange rate has no effect on exports of mining products in Indonesia.

Abstract

SRI and Sharia stocks in Indonesia are part of the green assets that have outperformed other stocks. However, they are also volatile and vulnerable to shocks. This study examines the asymmetric effects of macroeconomic uncertainty-specifically domestic interest rates, global uncertainty, and domestic exchange rates-together with environmental degradation factors on the SRI and Sharia stock markets in Indonesia. The findings show that exchange rate asymmetry significantly impacts the SRI and Shariah stock markets, as evidenced by the sizable coefficients. In the SRI stock market, positive exchange rate shocks are found to have a negative impact in both the short and long run. In contrast, in the Islamic stock market, the effect of positive exchange rate shocks is only seen in the short run. This evidence suggests that an increase in positive exchange rate shocks will lead to a decline in both the SRI and Islamic stock markets. When the domestic exchange rate appreciates, Indonesian exports become more expensive in the international market, thus reducing the competitiveness of firms in export-dependent markets, which then affects their stock prices. Moreover, in the long run, negative shocks related to global uncertainty negatively impact the Islamic stock market. This finding indicates that when the global economic environment deteriorates and overseas investments are perceived as risky, domestic investors-especially those who are risk averse-tend to shift their investments to domestic Islamic assets, which they perceive as more reliable.

Abstract

This study supposed to analyze the contribution of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to customer retention in independent coffee shop businesses, using Coffeeshop Saga Kahwa as a case study. Amidst intense competition and the challenge of maintaining customer loyalty, CRM implementation becomes a crucial strategy to drive repeat visits and build long-term customer relationships. The research applies a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) as the analytical technique. CRM is measured through four dimensions: customer orientation, technology-based CRM, knowledge management, and service quality, while customer retention is evaluated based on indicators of loyalty and repurchase intention. The results show that all four CRM dimensions have a positive and significant effect on customer retention, with an R Square value of 0.803, indicating strong combined influence. These findings imply that the strategic application of CRM, even at the small business level such as independent coffee shops, can significantly enhance customer loyalty and business competitiveness.

Abstract

Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Tirtanadi manages Medan City's clean water. PDAM divides its clients into seven categories, with Group I being low-income areas that require water subsidies. PDAM does not yet have a mathematical model for water rates, but it depends on Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 23, which gives legal guidance. Since there is no mathematical model, this research uses linear programming (LP) to establish each group's minimal water tariff. PDAM bases its water pricing on the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 23 of 2006 and uses the LP model. The LP model reduces complicated computations into linear equations, making them easier to comprehend and apply. The computed water rates match PDAM pricing for six consumer categories, according to the research. One group, Group II Block I, has a higher tariff ratio of 2.3:1. Model parameters are more susceptible to changes in costs, consumption volume, and payment capability of this group, causing this disparity. This study's new goal is to minimize high-water-use clients. Other groupings remained unchanged. LP models establish PDAM's minimum water rates and optimize water tariff calculation effectively and equitably using analytical methods. PDAM may utilize the LP model to determine pricing that cover all expenditures, but Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 23 of 2006 continues to keep tariffs cheap and not a social burden on Medan. This research suggests that additional monopolistic enterprises and other water resource management for 37 Indonesian provinces may utilize its minimum water selling price approach. In the mathematical equation, the LP model is correct. Thus, PDAM Tirtanadi may use it to calculate the minimal water selling price by considering economic considerations. Water firms must help PDAM researchers who are willing to supply data, including polite service from each division's workers.
