Abstract

This study examines the influence of employee green behavior on the performance of green instructors in the Madrasah context in Medan City, using the frameworks of organizational ambidexterity and green self-efficacy. Adopting a quantitative research methodology, the study utilized surveys as the primary data collection tool. The research population consisted of all Madrasah instructors in Medan City, totaling 229 individuals, who also served as the research sample. Data analysis was conducted using quantitative statistical methods, specifically path analysis. Primary data were collected through surveys, while secondary data were obtained from official Madrasah records. The findings reveal that instructors’ green self-efficacy in Madrasahs in Medan City is significantly influenced by their green behavior. Moreover, environmentally sustainable practices positively impact organizational ambidexterity, which in turn affects teacher performance. However, organizational ambidexterity does not have a direct significant influence on green teacher performance. Conversely, employee green behavior indirectly enhances teacher performance through its effects on organizational ambidexterity and green self-efficacy.

Abstract

This study explores the role of burnout as a mediating variable in the relationship between cultural openness, servant leadership, and lecturers’ job satisfaction at Institut Bisnis Informasi Teknologi dan Bisnis, Medan City. In higher education, cultural openness and servant leadership are essential factors contributing to job satisfaction. However, high workloads can lead to burnout, potentially diminishing the positive effects of both factors. This study employs a quantitative approach, using a survey conducted with 51 lecturers as respondents. The results indicate that cultural openness significantly affects job satisfaction, reinforcing the importance of transparent communication and respect for diversity in fostering a supportive work environment. Conversely, servant leadership does not significantly affect job satisfaction or burnout, suggesting that this leadership style is less effective in the context of this study. Additionally, burnout does not significantly influence job satisfaction directly or as a mediating variable. These findings underscore the need to strengthen cultural openness as a key factor in enhancing lecturer job satisfaction. Furthermore, this study offers theoretical contributions to understanding the relationship between organizational culture, leadership, burnout, and job satisfaction while providing practical insights for policy development in higher education institutions.

Abstract

Abstract

This study seeks to analyze the influence of simple accounting practices and financial literacy on the income growth performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Medan Timur. Simple accounting is operationalized through key indicators, including systematic record-keeping, preparation of financial reports, and consistency in bookkeeping practices. Financial literacy is assessed based on the level of understanding of fundamental financial concepts, financial planning capabilities, and the ability to make informed financial decisions in business contexts. Meanwhile, income growth performance is measured using indicators such as increased sales, profit growth, and overall financial stability. The study adopts a quantitative research design, employing a survey method as the primary data collection technique. A total of 75 MSME actors in Medan Timur were selected as respondents using purposive sampling. Data were gathered through structured questionnaires specifically developed to measure the research variables. The collected data were subsequently analyzed using multiple linear regression to evaluate the magnitude and significance of the relationships between variables. The findings reveal that both the implementation of simple accounting and financial literacy exert a positive and statistically significant effect on MSME income growth. Accurate and consistent financial recording enables business owners to better monitor and control their financial performance, while a higher level of financial literacy enhances their capacity to make strategic and effective financial decisions. These results underscore the importance of strengthening basic accounting practices and improving financial knowledge as key drivers for sustainable income growth and long-term business development among MSMEs in Medan Timur.
