Abstract

Research Aims: This research investigates the influence of trust in social media influencers and perceived authenticity on Muslim tourist loyalty at Laut Tawar Lake, Central Aceh. Specifically, it explores how halal tourism perceptions mediate these relationships. This study expands the current understanding of the interplay between influencer trust, authenticity perception, and halal tourism principles in fostering tourist loyalty, while addressing a gap in tourism literature on sharia-compliant destinations.Design/Methodology/Approach: A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected from 210 Muslim visitors to Danau Laut Tawar using structured questionnaires. The relationships among variables were examined using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).Research Findings: The results indicate that influencer trust significantly influences perceptions of halal tourism, thereby positively affecting tourist loyalty. In contrast, perceived authenticity does not significantly affect loyalty. Halal tourism also mediates the relationship between authenticity and tourist loyalty, but not between influencer trust and loyalty.Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study enriches the halal tourism literature by clarifying the roles of influencer trust and authenticity in shaping Muslim tourist behavior. It offers insights into how perceived halal tourism mediates the connection between trust, authenticity, and loyalty.Practical Implications: The findings emphasize the importance of enhancing halal tourism services, partnering with credible influencers, and promoting authentic cultural experiences to strengthen Muslim tourist engagement. The study provides practical strategies for sharia-compliant tourism marketing and management.Research Limitations/Implications: As this study focuses only on Muslim tourists at Lake Laut Tawar, its findings may not be generalizable to other halal tourism destinations with distinct cultural or regulatory settings.

Abstract

This study explores the role of burnout as a mediating variable in the relationship between cultural openness, servant leadership, and lecturers’ job satisfaction at Institut Bisnis Informasi Teknologi dan Bisnis, Medan City. In higher education, cultural openness and servant leadership are essential factors contributing to job satisfaction. However, high workloads can lead to burnout, potentially diminishing the positive effects of both factors. This study employs a quantitative approach, using a survey conducted with 51 lecturers as respondents. The results indicate that cultural openness significantly affects job satisfaction, reinforcing the importance of transparent communication and respect for diversity in fostering a supportive work environment. Conversely, servant leadership does not significantly affect job satisfaction or burnout, suggesting that this leadership style is less effective in the context of this study. Additionally, burnout does not significantly influence job satisfaction directly or as a mediating variable. These findings underscore the need to strengthen cultural openness as a key factor in enhancing lecturer job satisfaction. Furthermore, this study offers theoretical contributions to understanding the relationship between organizational culture, leadership, burnout, and job satisfaction while providing practical insights for policy development in higher education institutions.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the influence of liquidity, leverage, and profitability on financial distress at PT. Jamu Nyonya Meneer, a traditional herbal medicine company in Indonesia. Using a quantitative descriptive research approach, the study analyzes secondary data from the company's financial statements through multiple regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and correlation analysis. The research focuses on three key financial ratios: Current Ratio for liquidity measurement, Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) for leverage assessment, and Return on Assets (ROA) for profitability evaluation. The findings reveal that liquidity, leverage, and profitability have significant positive effects on financial distress, with the regression equation Y = 23.491 + 0.457X₁ + 0.482X₂ + 0.372X₃. The F-test results (Sig. = 0.02 < 0.05) confirm that all independent variables jointly influence financial distress, while individual t-test results show significant partial effects for Liquidity (Sig. = 0.000), Leverage (Sig. = 0.001), and Profitability (Sig. = 0.000). The coefficient of determination (R²) indicates that 61.5% of financial distress variation is explained by these three variables, while 38.5% is influenced by other factors. Contrary to conventional expectations, higher liquidity and profitability increase financial distress risk, suggesting complex operational dynamics in the herbal medicine industry. The study contributes to financial distress prediction literature and provides practical insights for herbal medicine companies' financial management strategies.
