Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of project-based learning (PBL) in enhancing students' understanding of chemistry concepts. Utilizing a qualitative approach and a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, which were thematically analyzed. The results indicate that students have a positive perception of PBL, as evidenced by their active engagement in group discussions and experiments. PBL has been shown to improve the understanding of chemistry concepts, enabling students to explain and apply these concepts in real-world contexts. Three main themes identified are: (1) student engagement and motivation, (2) skills developed, and (3) barriers to the implementation of PBL. High levels of engagement and the development of social skills such as collaboration are key factors in the success of PBL. However, challenges such as difficulties in understanding complex concepts and disparities in student participation also emerged. The implications of the study highlight the need for a supportive learning environment to enhance student motivation. Recommendations for teachers include providing constructive feedback and clearly defining roles within groups. Future research is suggested to involve more participants and explore external factors influencing the effectiveness of PBL. These findings affirm that PBL not only enhances academic understanding but also enriches students' overall learning experiences. KEYWORDS Keyword_1. Project-Based Learning Keyword_2. Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan orangtua dan guru di PAUD Baitul Marhamah kelurahan Ketileng kota Cilegon dalam mendukung perkembangan emosional anak dengan memberikan kebutuhan emosi yang tepat hingga berimbas pada peningkatan motivasi belajar. Penelitian dan pengalaman menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional memainkan peran penting dalam pembentukan karakter anak dan keberhasilan akademik mereka. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan ini melibatkan seminar, pelatihan, dan diskusi interaktif antara orangtua dan guru untuk memahami pentingnya kolaborasi dalam pengasuhan yang mendukung aspek emosional anak. Metode pengambilan data pada penelitian pengabdian Masyarakat ini menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif dan pendekatan PAR. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa saat observasi berlangsung pemahaman orang terkait kebutuhan emosi anak dengan total sebesar 35% dan 40% meningkat menjadi 85% dan 90% serta aspek motivasi belajar anak di rumah dengan total sebesar 45% dan 65% di sekolah menjadi 85% dan 95% setelah evaluasi dilakukan pasca seminar.

Abstract

This study aims to describe a dynamics system model in the use of environmentally friendly product designs and green innovation in SMEs in Batam. This type of research is qualitative research. Sources of data collection in this study were 10 informants of SME players in Batam city. The data is in the form of answer words containing environmentally friendly product design packaging and green innovation. This research data analysis using Vensim software. The result of this research is that through a dynamics systems approach, it can provide policy simulations that are used to consider the application of green innovations that can support an increase in the profit of a business. Through a dynamics system approach, it can provide simulations that the implementation of green innovation strategies can support business sustainability or is called sustainability business.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendalami konsep-konsep matematika dalam konteks bangun ruang tiga dimensi melalui pendekatan eksploratif. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan model pembelajaran yang memfasilitasi pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang dimensi tiga dan penerapan matematika pada objek-objek tiga dimensi. Pendekatan interaktif, pendekatan kualitatif, dan penggunaan teknologi akan diintegrasikan untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan mendukung eksplorasi konsep-konsep tersebut. Hal ini menyoroti urgensi eksplorasi dalam pembelajaran matematika dan menekankan aplikasi praktis konsep matematika pada bangun ruang tiga dimensi. Potensi inovasi dalam metode pengajaran dan pengembangan materi pembelajaran menjadi fokus utama, dengan harapan hasil penelitian ini akan memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman matematika yang lebih baik serta aplikasi praktis dalam berbagai konteks kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Rising prices of basic necessities are often a problem for families with low or limited incomes. This condition is experienced by mothers who work as Outdoor Cleaning Service staff at the Engineering Service Unit (ESU) of the University of Riau. This service activity method is carried out by counseling about independent household financial management which is expected to help with the problems faced. The purpose of this activity is to assist the community in managing household finances to realize financial management in the future. This activity ran smoothly and received a fairly positive response from the Outdoor Cleaning Service staff at the Engineering Service Unit (ESU) at the University of Riau so that they could increase their knowledge and skills in managing finances better.

Abstract

Background of the study: Libraries, as public service providers, have an obligation to provide excellent service. Evaluation of the quality of public services from a gender perspective can help policymakers to develop gender-based services, retain current service users, and attract new service users. Purpose: To evaluate the quality of library services at the Balai Yanpus DPAD DIY from a gender perspective and to prepare recommendations for improvements for the Balai Yanpus DPAD DIY. Method: This research uses quantitative methods and data collection techniques through questionnaires with 270 respondents. Data was analyzed using gap analysis, conformity analysis, and visualization using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method via SPSS Version 26 software. Findings: Based on the gap and conformity analysis results, it is known that female and male respondents have different service quality indicators that are considered to meet users expectations. There are 5 indicators for female users and 6 indicators for male users that have succeeded in meeting the expectations. These indicators also have a level of conformity value exceeding 100%. The results of the IPA Matrix analysis of male and female service users also show that there are 5 indicators  in Quadrant 3 so that they require improvement even though they are not the main priority. Conclusion: This study concludes that the quality of library services at Balai Yanpus DPAD DIY still needs to be improved in order to achieve maximum public satisfaction and provide excellent services. This study contributes to the development of studies related to public services and library science by taking a gender perspective in its analysis.

Abstract

Peranan Aparatur Sipil Negara (ASN) sangat penting di lembaga pemerintah dipandang pada dimensi kinerjanya. Pengaruh Herd Mentality dan Pelatihan Terhadap Kinerja ASN: Studi Kasus di Ditjen Administrasi Hukum Umum, Kementerian Hukum Republik Indonesia. Merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif bertujuan menggambarkan suatu fenomena pada setiap variabel atas kajian yang berfokus pada penyajian data sebagai akurasi pada karakteristik atau keadaan suatu objek. Matode kuantitatif ini dengan teknik pengambilan data menggunakan kuesoner dengan skala likert yang disebarkan kepada respoden seluruh staf di Ditjen Administrasi Hukum Umum, Kementerian Hukum. Dengan teknik sampling jenuh atau seluruh populasi dijadikan sampel. Analisa data menggunakan aplikasi SPSS versi 25 dimana data pada setiap variabel pada uji instrument dinyatakan sah atau valid dan dapat dipercaya atau reliabel. Uji asumsi klasik menyatakan data pada setiap variabel normat dan tidak terjadi heteroskedastisitas serta multikolinearitas. Kajian atas rumusan masalah pada variabel herd mentality positif cukup dan signifikan demikian juga variabel pelatihan kerja positif sangat baik dan signifikan, dan jika dianalisa secara serentak herd mentality dan palatihan kerja terhadap kinerja ASN positif sangat baik serta signifikan. Kesimpulan bahwa ASN Ditjen Administrasi Hukum Umum, Kementerian Hukum telah berkinerja dengan baik sesuai dengan harapan tidak melakukan kawanan berkelompok serta palatihan kerja yang berkesinambungan.

Abstract

Personal growth initiative (PGI) were born from positive psychology, which plays a role in the development of students and their lives. However, currently, no systematic review specifically discusses previous research on the role of PGI in students' lives and what advice is given to educational counselors regarding students' PGI. Therefore, this research aims to review a systematic review of the role of PGI in students' lives and its implications for educational counselors. The systematic review method with the systematic review and meta-analysis (PRISMA) protocol was used to collect data. Data was obtained through the Scopus database using the article title "Personal Growth Initiative" and article title, abstract, keywords "student" from 2013 to 2023. Of the total 80 articles found, 11 met the inclusion criteria and were discussed in this research. Based on a systematic review, the results show that in the student context, higher levels of PGI contribute to increased work engagement, self-control, and lower levels of smartphone addiction, psychological well-being, mental health help-seeking, well-being for international students, future life satisfaction and happiness, and post-traumatic growth. The implications for educational counselors are that they need to encourage students' PGI skills and provide specialized training to enhance PGI, such as Intentional Growth Training. This intervention will support students in developing a solid vocational identity, reducing the risk of smartphone addiction, coping with post-traumatic stress, and improving their psychological well-being. Additionally, counselors should assist international students in cultural adjustment to address acculturation challenges and enhance their overall well-being.

Abstract

The large number of students who have not been able to decide what career choices they will pursue after graduating from university, as well as the high number of unemployed graduates, one of which is the background of their low career maturity. One of the factors that influence career maturity is locus of control. Locus of control describes how far the individual views his confidence in the efforts he makes to achieve a career. This study aims to describe the relationship between locus of control and career maturity in college students. This study uses a systematic literature review method with PRISMA guidelines. The data used is a collection of articles about locus of control and career maturity in students. The data comes from searching articles on the Google Scholar and Crossref databases with the help of the Publish or Perish (POP) application. The article search strategy uses keywords according to topics from the last 10 years, namely 2012-2022. The articles were screened and an assessment of the feasibility of the journal was carried out according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study uses 6 main articles. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between internal locus of control and career maturity in college students. That is, the higher the student's internal locus of control, the higher the career maturity of the student.

Abstract

Produksi beras merupakan salah satu indikator penting dalam ketahanan pangan suatu daerah. Jawa Barat sebagai salah satu provinsi penghasil beras utama di Indonesia memiliki peran strategis dalam menjaga ketersediaan pangan nasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memprediksi produksi beras di Jawa Barat dengan menggunakan model regresi linear. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa data sekunder dari Badan Pusat Statistik mengenai luas panen dan produksi beras selama beberapa tahun terakhir. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara luas panen dengan jumlah produksi beras. Model regresi linear yang dibangun dapat digunakan untuk memprediksi produksi beras di masa mendatang dengan tingkat akurasi yang cukup baik. Hasil evaluasi akurasi model menunjukkan bahwa beberapa wilayah memiliki tingkat akurasi yang tinggi dengan nilai R² di atas 0.7 seperti Pangandaran (R² = 0.8809), Tasikmalaya (R² = 0.8340), kota depok (R2 = 0,8056), kota Bekasi (R2 = 0,7968), kota Cirebon (R2 = 0,7478) .Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi yang berguna bagi perencanaan pertanian dan pengambilan kebijakan pemerintah di sektor pangan.
