Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) types of conjunction contained alquran surah Al-Ma’idah, (2) expose conjunction meaning contained in the translation of alquran surah Al-Ma’idah. This types of research is qualitative by using descriptive method. The data of this research is a sentence in the translation of alquran surah Al-Ma’idah containing are surah Al-Ma’idah and Al-Ma’idah alquran translation.Based on the research data, two types of conjunctions an ten conjunctions are found. These types of conjunctions are coordinated conjunctions and subordinate conjunctions. Coordinate conjunctuons are found that is: and, or, and but. The subordinate conjunction found is: when, after, before, until, during, when, if, because, that, with, in order, though. The meaning of conjunction is found: meaning the addition, choice, resistance, temporal/time, cause, condition,  not condition, expectation, objek, and manner. Keywords: conjunction, Alquran, translation of surah Al-Ma’idah

Abstract

This study aims to describe the performance of using Indonesian vocabulary in terms of using the principle of language vocabulary by the governor and vice governor of West Sumatra on Youtube. This study is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The study data are speech by the governor and vice governor of West Sumatra. The data were collected in the following manner, (1) the author download the video of the governor and vice governor of West Sumatra in social media, Youtube; (2) the author transcribes the entire Youtube video; and (3) the author observe and determine data that includes the performance of Indonesian vocabulary; (4) the author include the code to performance of using Indonesian vocabulary. After the data collected, then the author is analyzing the data with the following steps, (1) identifying and transcribing data, (2) classifying data, (3) calculating data, (4) interpreting data, and (5) summing up data. The conclusion of the study is the performance of Indonesian vocabulary in the speech of the governor and vice governor of West Sumatra in well phase. The author found 76% data using standard vocabulary and 24% data using non standard vocabulary. If the data explained in number, the using of standard vocabulary is 276 sentences and non standard vocabulary is 86 sentences.Keywords: vocabulary, governor and vice governor, Youtube

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explain the use of the tematic structure text and skematic structure text by the journalist in the political news of the second round period 2014-2019 of the mayor election in Padang in Singgalang daily news as the online media to expose the political power. The research is qualitative research. The  technique of data collection is using simak and catat technique. The analysis of the data is done by description of the analysis of Teun A. van Dijk‘s perspectives. Based on the result of the research, it is concluded that the use of the structure of tematic text and the use of the structure of skematic text in the political news of the second round of mayor election of Padang in Singgalang online media, indicates that the political power exists. This phenomenon indicates that the media supports one of the candidate, Desri Ayunda-James Hellyward (Deje), so the news that is written is not neutral.

Abstract

This study was conducted to describe the Indonesian language in terms of using sentence structure by regent in West Sumatera (Regent of Dharmasraya, Regent of Pesisir Selatan, Regent of 50 Kota, Regent of Agam, Regent of Pasaman Barat, Regent of Pasaman, Regent of Sijunjung, Regent of Solok Selatan, and Regent of Mentawai) in Youtube. This study is a qualitative study using descriptive method. The data in this study is a sentence obtained from the speech of regent in West Sumatra. The data collection are as follows, (1) to identify speech of regent in West Sumatera which is included in the Indonesian language performance in terms of using the regent's sentence structure in West Sumatra, (2) transcribing the speech of regent in West Sumatra which has been downloaded through Youtube, (3) observing  and giving the data code. Technique of data validation in this study is using technique of detail description while describing or explaining the detail data to be analyzed. Techniques of data analysis in this study are as follows, (1) identifying data, (2) classifying data, (3) interpreting data, and (4) concluding data. The conclusion of this study is the Indonesian language in terms of using sentence structure by the regent in West Sumatra in Youtube. The statement is proved by the speech of using the appropriate sentence structure as much as 299 sentences with 84% percentage and incorrect as much as 58 sentences with a percentage of 16%. In other words, the performance of the Indonesian language in terms of using sentence structure in this study is dominated by the accuracy of its use.keywords: sentence,  sentence structure, regent, Youtube

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) the form of kinship words, (2) the form of non-kinship greeting words, (3) the use of kinship words, and (4) the use of non-kinship greeting words in the Minangkabau language in Nagari Koto Sani District X Koto Singkarak Solok Regency used by speakers in everyday life. This study includes the type of qualitative research with descriptive methods. Sources of data from this study are oral sources from the people of Nagari Koto Sani District X Koto Solok Regency. The focus of this research is the Minangkabau language greeting in Nagari Koto Sani District X Koto Singkarak Solok Regency. Data collection is done by using the refer and proficient method. The steps in this study are transcribing the recorded data into written language, identifying data in accordance with the aspects studied, classifying research data by creating tables based on the aspects studied, interpreting data, and concluding data based on the results of the study. The results obtained in this study are First, the greeting of the nuclear family with 48 greeting words and broad family kinship words with 64 greeting words. Second, the word non-friendship greeting said non-religious friendship words there are 12 words of greeting, the word non-traditional friendship greeting there are 8 words of greeting, the word non-friendship address is 14 greeting words, and the word non-general address greetings are 15 greeting words.Keywords : kata sapaan, bahasa Minangkabau, Nagari Koto Sani

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the form of a style that is used by soccer commentators in the Indonesian Super League event on television quiz on sentence structure and meaning based on whether or not direct. The data of this study is the speech that contain language style. Source of research data is broadcast live football matches Indonesia Super League during the month of April 2012 in television quiz. Data was collected using recording techniques and assisted with the recording sheet. The study's findings: (1) style language is based on the sentence structure is found as many as three of style, a style that is the climax, antithesis, and repetition. (2) style language is based on direct or absence of meaning is found as many as 14 styles of language, namely alliteration, asonansi, asindeton, euphemism, hyperbole, oxymoron, erotesis, simile, metaphor, personification, eponymous, sinekdoke, antonomasia, and irony.   Kata kunci: gaya bahasa, komentator,

Abstract

This study aims to explain the choice of vocabulary in language performance and politeness of oral communication by legislative officials and party leaders at level of West Sumatra Province. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. The research data collecting technique uses documentation and technical notes. The research data analysis technique  are data classification, data analysis, data interprestation and conclusion. Based on this study, concluded that the choice of vocabulary by legislative officials and party leaders at level of West Sumatra Province is very good. The use of choice of vocabulary in standard vocabulary is 131 data with 87,3% percentage and the use of choice of vocabulary in non-standard vocabulary is 19 data with 12,7% percentage. Researcher found the non-standard vocabulary in two classification. First, non-standard vocabulary in Indonesian language. Abstract

The research was done because of the heterogeneous of Indonesian society which create the varieties of language insed in daily life. It is known as jargon. Let’s see the jargon used by plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun subdistrict Koto Tangah Padang, West Sumatera in their daily activities, especially in doing transaction of trading. They have special vocabularies called jargon. The purpose of this research is (1) to describe the form jargon used by plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun sub district Koto Tangah Padang West Sumatera. (2) To describe the meaning of jargon used by plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun subdistrict Koto Tangah Padang, West Sumatera. This research is a qualitative research that produces a descriptive data. It means the data analyzed and the result of the analysis is in a descriptive form, not in form of numeral of the efficiency of the relationship between variables. In this research, the data was taken from the daily conversation among the plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun by using listen method (record based technique). Based on the research about jargon in the trading transaction among the plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun sub district Koto Tangah Padang, West Sumatera, jargon can be classified into form and meaning. (1) Form, it can be words, phrases, or clauses. The word in jargon can be verbs, nouns, or adjectives. Phrases in jargon can be verb phrases, noun phrases, or adjective phrases. (2) Meaning, it has the lexical meaning and contextual meaning.Keywords : Jargon, Sellers, Plant, Trading transaction, Lubuk Minturun.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the performance of the principles of politeness by the Mayor in West Sumatra. Data are collected in the following manner. (1) downloading a video of a Mayor's speech in West Sumatra either from an official dialogue or when the Mayor went to the field, the researchers collected data from July 4, 2017 to July 18, 2017; (2) transcribes all downloaded videos; (3) observing and determining the data that includes the performance of the use of language-based pronunciation principles. The examination of data validation in this study uses a detailed description technique. After the data collected, then analyzed with the following steps. (1) identify and transcribe data, (2) classify, (3) calculate data using formulas; (4) interpret the data; and infer the data. The conclusion of this research is the performance of language politeness by the Mayor in West Sumatra is very good. This is evidenced from the 275 sentences of speech, found sentence according to the principle of language politeness as much as 259 sentences (94.2%), the corresponding sentence consists of in accordance with the maxim of wisdom, generosity, praise, humility, and inferiority, while the unfit ones is in the use of 16 sentence language (5.8%), the inappropriate sentence consists of the maxim of praise, the maxim of humility and the maxim of agreement.Keywords: politeness, oral communication, mayor

Abstract

Abstract: The background of the research is the low ability of the students in writting the role play text, where they can’t pass the minimum mastery criterion (KKM ) yet. Type of the research is  Classroom Action Research. It is done in two (2) cycles. The act of the teaching and learning process is done by using CTL approach as mention above. Each cycle is done by integrating some CTL components and observed by the observer. The steps of the research are plan, do, observation and reflection. The datas are qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data is collected from the observation and filed note while the quantitative data got from the result of students performance test. The conclusion  of the reasearch are( 1). There is an increasing of student’s activity in teaching and learning process after the first and the second cycle done.( 2). There is an increasing of students achievement result in wrttingrole play text  from 68,38 in pra cycle, means that only 40% of the students pass the KKM . It increase into 73,75 at the first cycle or 64 % of students pass the KKM. At  second cycle  the avarage  students value is 88,25, means that 100%  of the students can and pass the minimum mastery criteria (KKM).
