Abstract

Everyone can make a speech, but not everyone can make a good and correct speech. Everyone needs to develop speaking skills in everyday life. Therefore, this research aims to describe the speaking skills of class VI students: a case study of SD Pedurungan Kidul 02 Semarang.This research was conducted at SD Negeri Pedurungan Kidul 02, Semarang City, Central Java. The data collected are qualitative in the form of narratives regarding the ability of speaking skills in delivering speeches, factors that influence speaking skills, and efforts to improve speaking skills in delivering opinions. The data sources used were primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview, test, and documentation. The results of this research are that the speaking skills of the three class VI students at SD Negeri Pedurungan Kidul 02 Semarang City are categorized as "low". This is shown based on the results of the three students. There are several indicators that are still not understood by students, namely indicators of pronunciation, fluency, and body gestures. Factors that can affect students' speaking skills are divided into supporting factors and inhibiting factors. Supporting factors include methods, models, learning media, student memorization, word selection, and pausing on punctuation. While the inhibiting factors are the existence of a person's pronunciation tool that is less than perfect and the lack of learning assistance to children.

Abstract

The learning media owned by schools and used by teachers are still limited. Especially in technology-based interactive learning media, students become passive because the press used by teachers has not yet been interactive. This research aims to develop interactive learning media, Articulate Storyline, for Social Sciences lesson content on Various Economic Activities in Indonesia. This type of research was developed using the Borg and Gall research model. Observations, interviews, and questionnaires were used as data collection methods. Several experts and students carried out product design trials, including material experts, media experts, and small-scale tests carried out by student representatives. Qualitative and quantitative analysis are used as data analysis techniques. Research data shows that the percentage level of appropriateness for interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline by material experts is 96.25%, and media experts are 96.66%. Based on the Normalized Gain test results, a score of 0.62 was achieved with quite effective qualifications. It was concluded that the development of interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline is suitable for use for Social Sciences lesson content in the learning of fifth-grade elementary school students. The implication of this research is that interactive multimedia learning media is more effectively used in material on Various Businesses and Economic Activities in Indonesia.

Abstract

Students' opinions regarding the content of social studies learning regarding the meaning of the Proclamation of Independence are prosaic learning content, and the lack of learning models presented to teachers is less interesting. The frequent use of reading-only methods is also an obstacle in delivering material to students. It is what triggers low student learning outcomes. This research aims to develop Android-based Lectora Inspire media on the meaning of the Proclamation of Independence, as well as the influence of student learning outcomes in Class VI elementary schools. This type of research is developed using the ADDIE model. The methods used to collect data are observation, interviews, tests, and questionnaires. Data collection instruments use questionnaires and test questions. The subjects used in this research were teachers, students, learning media experts and learning material experts. Data analysis techniques use descriptive quantitative, qualitative and inferential statistics. The results obtained from this research were that students tested in large groups 84%, small groups 90%, teacher trials 96%, media expert tests 76%, material expert tests 95%, as well as the results of effectiveness tests through pretest and post-test which had a significant increase from small groups to large groups. It was concluded that the Android-based Lectora Inspire media on the meaning of the Proclamation of Independence was very good to use, effective, and very suitable for use in the learning process and also improved student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Students are known to have less self-control in interacting with others. It is indicated by several excessive emotional expressions, such as mocking, insulting, and even fighting, so there is a need for a school counseling to improve students’ self-control. This study aimed at exploring the effects of social media interactions and emotional intelligence on the self-control of students at SMP Negeri 1 Sribhawono. It used a correlational design and involved 59 students whose data were collected using the scales of social media interactions, emotional intelligence, and self-control. Findings revealed (1) There was a positive and significant effect of social media on students’ control (β=0,427, p < 0,01), (2) There was a positive and significant effect of emotional intelligence and self-control (β=0,443, p < 0,01), and (3) social media interactions and emotional intelligence simultaneously affected students’ self-control (R = 0,824, p < 0,01). Based on the findings, it is concluded that social media interactions and emotional intelligence can improve the self-control of students at SMP Negeri 1 Sribhawono.

Abstract

Low adolescent psychological well-being will have an impact on the lack of fulfilment of his psychological needs and bring up negative emotions. Thus, the present study attempted to analyze the relationship between social media addiction, hardiness, and emotional intelligence with psychological well-being and their implications for guidance and counselling. It used a correlational design with a sample of 335 students selected using the cluster proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Students’ data were collected using the Social Media Addiction Scale (SMAC) for the social media addiction, the DRS15 scale (Dispositional Resilience Scale: a short hardiness measure) for the hardiness, the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnare-Adolescent Short Form (TEIQue-ASF) scale for emotional intelligence, and the psychological well-being scale. The Findings showed that there was a relationship between social media addiction, hardiness, and emotional intelligence with psychological well-being. Thus, school counselors can make use of hardiness and emotional intelligence to improve psychological well-being through guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the pattern of the relationship between students concept mastery and mathematical problem-solving ability in GLBB material. This is qualitative associative/constructive research. This investigation was conducted with grade X MIA2 students at SMAN 1 Nita. This study's instrument included a test of concept mastery and mathematical problem-solving ability, documentation of student answer sheets, and unstructured interviews. The technique for data analysis consisted of five stages: data collection, description of raw data, data reduction, data categorization, and construction of category relationships. The findings revealed a reciprocal relationship between concept mastery and mathematical problem-solving ability. In addressing physics problems, mastery of concepts and mathematical problem-solving ability play mutually reinforcing roles. The level of concept mastery of students increases with their problem-solving abilities, and vice versa: the higher the level of conceptual mastery, the greater the mathematical problem-solving abilities. The results showed that there was a semantic congruence between issue solving using the Polya step indicator and problem solving at the levels of analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6). Abstract

This research aims to create a valid, practical, and effective Nearpod-based interactive learning media to improve learning outcomes of social sciences content on the material "Indonesian Cultural Diversity." This is development research with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Based on the results of the expert assessment, the validity of the product obtained a score of 92.18% with the criteria of "very valid" in the aspects of suitability of material and learning objectives, language, media display, excellence, and media use. Material validation scores on aspects of accuracy with learning objectives, students' level of thinking, language, and supporting aspects (videos, images, quizzes) also fall into the "very valid" category with a score of 95%. Based on student responses to the content of the material, ease of use, material display, linguistic aspects, and readability of the material are also in the very valid category, with a percentage of 91%. Based on the N-Gain calculation of students' pretests and post-tests, Nearpod media received a score of 0.74 from 22 large group students, while six small group students obtained a score of 0.8 in the "High" category, as well as the material achievement score from the N-Gain results of 92.3% with the "Very Good" category, which means that 26 out of 28 students get scores above learning objective completeness criteria (KKTP).

Abstract

The orientation of physics learning is to hone reasoning skills, solve mathematical problems from simple to complex problems. The aim of this research was to explain the differences in students' mastery of concepts and problem solving abilities through the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model assisted by mimind and direct instruction. The research method used was true experiment with a pretest posttest control group design. The total sample of 100 people was selected using cluster random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Manova test (Multivariate Analysis of Variance) with a significance level of 0.05. The research results show that the values ​​of Pillai's Trace, Wilks' Lambda, Hotelling's Trace, and Roy's largest Root all obtained a value of F = 3.394 with a significance of 0.038 < 0.05. Therefore, it is concluded that there are differences in concept mastery and problem solving abilities between students who use the CPS model assisted by Mimind application and students who use the direct instruction model. The results of this research contribute to the novelty of the CPS model using the mind mapping method through the mimind to the mastery of physics concepts and problem solving abilities.

Abstract

Students’ science literacy has declined due to learning barriers in the form of student’s lack of enthusiasm to participate in the learning process. This is supported by the fact that students feel bored and less enthusiastic about learning due to the lack of innovation and variety of learning media in the classroom. This study aims to prove the results of the effectiveness test of learning media development in restoring enthusiasm and measuring the increase in mastery of science literacy of fifth-grade elementary school students. This research uses a research and development (RnD) method with a quantitative descriptive approach. The development of learning media adapts the ADDIE development model, including (1) analyze phase, (2) design phase, (3) development phase, (4) implementation phase, and (5) evaluation phase. The research was conducted by testing the use of learning media in the form of digital comics in the classroom with students as respondents. The results showed differences in students' learning outcomes before and after using learning media. The results of students' pretest and posttest scores show that digital comic learning media through online flipbooks with science literacy content are feasible and effective in improving the mastery of science literacy of fifth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase the understanding of Indonesian Davao School Teachers (SID) in the Philippines regarding the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile Project (P5). Through an In House Training approach based on structured learning, this activity succeeded in increasing teachers' understanding of P5 implementation. The mentoring activities were attended by 20 teachers at SID from elementary, junior and senior high school levels. The results of the mentoring show that there is an increase in teacher understanding regarding the implementation of P5 in the Kurikulum Merdeka. This is shown by the increase in the results of the teacher pre-test and post-test at SID amounting to 25.33 with an n-gain of 0.39 in the medium category. This activity also identified the need for more specific and focused training to support the optimization of the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka. As a follow-up, this service will be directed at developing advanced training modules and providing project-based assessment assistance. In addition, collaboration with various parties will be strengthened to ensure program sustainability and improve the quality of learning that is more inclusive and meaningful. This activity is a strategic step in supporting the transformation of Indonesian school education abroad.
