Abstract

Learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) among elementary students remain suboptimal due to traditional teacher-centered approaches that limit active engagement and conceptual understanding. This study investigated the effectiveness of discovery learning models assisted by image media in improving fourth-grade IPAS learning outcomes. A classroom action research design following Kemmis and McTaggart's cyclical model was implemented over two cycles at SDN 8 Mamboro with 29 fourth-grade students. Data collection employed achievement tests validated by experts (content validity ratio = 0.85, Cronbach's alpha = 0.82) and structured observations. Each cycle comprised planning, action, observation, and reflection phases, with discovery learning activities supported by curriculum-aligned image media. The intervention demonstrated progressive improvements across cycles. Pre-intervention baseline showed 42.5% student competency, increasing to 69.0% in Cycle I and achieving 100% competency in Cycle II. Classical absorption rates improved from 42.5% baseline to 61.75% in Cycle I and 90.75% in Cycle II. Student engagement levels increased from 75% to 88.75%, while teacher effectiveness scores improved from 83.75% to 90%. All students achieved minimum competency standards by the final cycle, with scores ranging from 75-100. The findings validate constructivist learning principles and demonstrate the synergistic effects of combining discovery learning with visual media. Results align with previous research on student-centered approaches while extending understanding of multimedia integration in elementary science education. The dramatic improvement from passive to active learning confirms the effectiveness of this pedagogical combination in addressing contemporary educational challenges and supporting diverse learning styles in IPAS instruction.

Abstract

In the Islamic religion, parenting patterns have a strong foundation, because Islam views children as a trust given by Allah to parents. The aim of this research is to show that there is a relationship between Islamic Parenting Patterns and Child Development. This research uses a quantitative, correlational approach. The subjects in this study were 101 male and female teenagers with an age range of 16-22 years. The Islamic parenting style scale in this research is from Mergin Akin through a measurement index developed in another dissertation using the Parental Authority Questionnaire Revised (PAQ-R) test tool. PAQ-R is a measuring tool developed based on Baumrind's theory regarding parenting patterns which consists of three dimensions, namely authoritarian, permissive and authoritative with 15 items. Meanwhile, the child development scale used in this research from Judith is structured based on four aspects, including time/commitment, personal characteristics, family/finances, and relationships using the Study Of Velues (SOV) test tool. SOV is a test tool that studies and understands people's personalities, their values, and recognizes careers that interest them with a total of 15 items.

Abstract

This essay uses style analysis as a tool to examine the narrator's internal and external worlds in the short story "The Tell-Tale Heart." Here, stylistic analysis is essential because it clarifies how language and creative expression are related. The story's structure is highlighted in particular, as it makes use of devices like parallelism and the transitory quality of processes—both material and mental—to highlight the narrator's strange actions and compulsive obsession with the elderly man's "vulture's eye." The narrator's actions, which are characterized by careful planning and cunning maneuvers, highlight his unstable mentality and contradictory treatment of the elderly guy, whom he eventually sees as a victim because of his obsession with the eye. Readers can identify the narrator's underlying objectives and motives by closely analyzing that speech served and utterances that make up his story. This analysis aims to clarify the ways in which the narrator's journey into illness and obsession is portrayed through stylistic decisions in character development, dialogue, imagery, point of view, theme, and tone.

Abstract

Abstract The State's right to control land is a right that means that the State controls in the form of management of land rights, therefore the Regulation of the Government in the State No. 52 of 2014 concerning Guidelines for the Recognition and Protection of Indigenous Peoples is regulated which functions as a guideline for the recognition of indigenous peoples so that their traditional rights are also recognized by the State. However, in this day and age of globalization which requires the improvement of a country's economy, the regulation has not been optimally implemented by customary stakeholders and local governments due to misunderstandings of the hierarchy of laws and regulations. Until now, the Nagari Kapa indigenous people have not been determined by the local government, so that this is a gap in disputes over control of a right, especially customary rights that should be given to indigenous peoples, but customary rights are rights for people who have been designated as indigenous peoples. The data collection technique in this study uses secondary data obtained from literature studies, laws, expert opinions and interviews. and explain between legal arrangements and their implementation practices in the protection of customary rights. The purpose of this study is to find out the obstacles and implementation of the research, so that it gives rise to legal norms. And the findings of this study show that the Nagari kapa indigenous people still exist and exist, as can be seen from the findings carried out by the researcher, such as customary history, customary territories, customary assets, and customary institutions but have not been designated as indigenous peoples, so that there are weaknesses in protecting the rights of indigenous peoples.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile within the Independent Curriculum for fifth-grade Pancasila Education at SDN 16 Dampelas. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data was collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and the principal, and document analysis. Findings indicate successful integration of core character values including religious devotion, global diversity awareness, mutual cooperation, independence, critical thinking, and creativity. These values were cultivated through daily routines such as pre-lesson prayers, group collaborative work, cultural appreciation activities, and classroom discussions. However, the study identified implementation challenges, particularly teachers' limited conceptual understanding of the Pancasila Student Profile framework, attributable to insufficient training opportunities under the new curriculum. Only a small percentage of teaching staff had received comprehensive curriculum training. The study recommends expanded professional development programs and ongoing mentoring to enhance implementation quality and ensure consistent application across all grade levels. The implication of this study highlights the need for improving teachers' understanding and skills in implementing the Pancasila Student Profile, particularly within the context of the Independent Curriculum. Comprehensive and ongoing training programs are essential to support the development of students' character in line with Pancasila values. This will strengthen the integration of national values and enrich students' learning experiences, resulting in a generation with strong competencies and character to face global challenges.

Abstract

Employment is one of the main concerns of the Central Java Provincial Government. The aim of this research is to determine employment conditions in Central Java using several indicators. The research results show that although Central Java's TPAK has increased from year to year, the difference between men's and women's TPAK is still large. TPT for men is higher than TPT for women, and urban TPT is higher than rural TPT. The TPT for Vocational High School (SMK) graduates is always the highest, compared to the TPT for graduates of other levels of education. Based on main employment status, the working population can be categorized into formal and informal activities. Residents who work in formal activities include those who work with the help of permanent workers and workers/employees/employees, while the rest are categorized as informal activities (self-employed, businesses assisted by temporary workers/unpaid workers, casual workers, and family/unpaid workers ).
