Abstract

This study aims to examine the genealogy of the verse of religious moderation in Surat Al-Baqarah verse 143 and the efforts contained in the verse to counteract radicalism in this case sample on the tribunnews.com youtube channel. This study used the method of analysis of maudhu'i tafsir on al-Qurtubi's Ahkam al-Quran tafsir, which is one of the famous Sunni-classical tafsir works. Through the analysis of al-Qurtubi's tafsir, it was found that verse 143 of Surat al-Baqarah shows the importance of moderation in religion, which considers the balance between the interests of the individual and the interests of society. Moderation in religion is also associated with the concept of ummatan wasatan which emphasizes justice and balance in life, and sees the response of tafsir al-Qurtubi to see the phenomenon of radicasim that emerged in Indonesia. In addition, this study shows that verse 143 of Surat Al-Baqarah also provides concrete efforts in countering radicalism, namely by showing the importance of respecting differences and avoiding actions that cause divisions in society. The benefit of this research is to provide a deeper understanding of the verse of religious moderation in Surat al-Baqarah verse 143, as well as contribute to countering radicalism. This research can also be used as a reference for future research on the same theme. Overall, this study shows that verse 143 of Surat al-Baqarah has a broad meaning and can provide useful direction in efforts to counteract radicalism and promote religious moderation.

Abstract

The primary objective of this study was to enhance the proficiency of professional community assistants to promote the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within rural communities in Indonesia. Utilizing qualitative methodologies encompassing observational techniques, interviews, document analysis, and focus group discussions (FGDs), the research formulated a comprehensive approach. The suggested methodology promotes self-directed learning, active involvement in professional communities, participation in training initiatives, structured communication with supervisors, attentiveness to community development matters, cooperation with local authorities, and the development of comprehensive planning materials. These tactics enable community facilitators to enhance the alignment of their duties with the objectives of the SDGs. Nevertheless, the study admits several inherent limits that arise from the intricate nature of varied community contexts, restrictions on resources, and the varying levels of engagement from local leadership. To tackle these challenges, it is imperative for future research to prioritize long-term impact assessments, thoroughly examine contextual factors that influence the effectiveness of strategies, and endeavor to quantify the influence of these strategies on the achievement of the SDGs. By doing so, research can establish a more robust basis for policy recommendations and initiatives aimed at community development.

Abstract

Emotional eating behavior and increased food intake during emotional conditions are some factors that can contribute to obesity in pregnant women. This study examined the relationship between emotional eating behavior with energy consumption and nutritional status of pregnant women. This study was conducted from January to March 2024 and used an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional study. The subjects were 59 pregnant women in the second and third trimesters at Kedungkandang Community Health Center, Malang, Indonesia. Emotional eating, energy consumption, and nutritional status was tested with correlation rank spearman test. In this study, 45.7% of respondents were high emotional eaters, 40.7% had sufficient energy intake, and 72.9% had a normal nutritional status. Spearman correlation test showed p0.05 for energy consumption (p=0.008) and p0.05 for nutritional status (p=0.548). We concluded that emotional eating behavior has a significant relationship with energy consumption but has no relationship with nutritional status. It is important to consider the larger context in which emotional eating behaviors take place to comprehend nutritional status during pregnancy. Therefore, future studies should examine other different populations or areas.

Abstract

This study analyzes the strategy for developing students’ life skills through the implementation of the Ulama Cadre Proficiency Standard (SKKU) at Madrasah Aliyah Almaarif Singosari, Malang. The research focuses on how SKKU is designed, implemented, and evaluated within the framework of Islamic education to support the growth of students’ cognitive, personal, and social competencies. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through observation, in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Findings reveal that SKKU curriculum development is grounded in national education policies such as Permendiknas and KMA 183, integrated with local institutional directives. Its implementation involves continuous teacher professional development, the provision of facilities for religious practices, and the use of motivational strategies to engage students. Evaluation is conducted progressively daily, monthly, semesterly, and annually addressing both academic performance and practical life skill acquisition. Key challenges identified include low student motivation, limited teacher capacity for consistent monitoring, and insufficient parental involvement. Despite these obstacles, the study concludes that the SKKU approach significantly contributes to the holistic development of students’ life skills. It emphasizes the importance of coordinated collaboration among educational institutions, families, and communities to maximize outcomes in character-based and life skill-oriented Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the Participatory Observation learning model and students' responses to the learning model used in PAI (Pendidikan Agama Islam/Islamic Education). It used qualitative and quantitative methods with a pre-test and post-test nonrandomized group pre-experiment design. The 125 participants who were taken from three public universities, were asked to fill out questionnaires and written interviews. The data were analysed using paired t-test and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that first experiment got a t-score of 6,798 with a significance of 0,000; t-table score at 51 degrees of freedom and a significant degree of 0.05 in the form of 2.032. Second experiment obtained a t-score of 5.991 with a significance of 0.000; the t-table score at 54 degrees of freedom and 0.05 degrees of significance was 2.046. Third experiment achieved a t-score of 6.424 with a significance of 0.000; the t-table score at 20 degrees of freedom and 0.05 degrees of significance was 2.054. When compared, t-score> t-table or significance score <0.05, which means that the mean score between pre-test and post-test is significantly different. This means that the Participatory Observation learning model can improve students' religious and social character in learning PAI. This result is in line with the respondents' recognition that they have experienced changes in their character in a positive direction. Students stated that the Participatory Observation learning model was fun and very useful, so that it could be used in PAI learning to improve students' character.
