Abstract

Abstract              Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a condition where the body fails to maintain metabolism and fluid and electrolyte balance to cause uremia. Chronic Kidney Disease requires renal replacement therapy in the form of dialysis and kidney transplantation. Long-term hemodialysis and uremia can cause various neurological complications such as Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). This study is a correlation analysis using a cross sectional study design with a sampling technique that is purposive sampling of 16 hemodialysis patients. Data were analyzed using pearson correlation test. The results showed that there was a correlation between urea level and severity of Restless Legs Syndrome in Chronic Kidney Disease patients with p value (0,028). There is a need for training and monitoring of urea levels in an effort to improve the severity of RLS. Keywords: Chronic Kidney Disease;Restless Legs Syndrome;Ureum Levels.

Abstract

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM) is a global health problem. Currently, the incidence of diabetes mellitus in adolescents is rising. Nowadays, diabetes mellitus awareness in adolescents lacks attention. Awareness is the most important thing to prevent diabetes mellitus. Health education is one of the techniques to increase awareness among adolescents. This community service activity was developing a technology-based health education model that public health centres can carry out to increase diabetes awareness of adolescents. The use of technology is a part of today's life, so the development of technology-based diabetes awareness education models is expected to be a model of education and can be helpful to increase adolescent awareness about diabetes mellitus. This activity was carried out by delivering technology in health education programs and applying WhatsApp groups. This activity was expected to provide information for health workers in carrying out educational programs by utilizing technology.

Abstract

Healthcare robots are used in Indonesia and other countries to combat COVID-19 pandemic. This article was aimed to describe a perspective about healthcare robots, and to recommend ways for Indonesian nurses to engage with healthcare robots during the COVID-19 pandemic. One view hindering healthcare robot appreciation as partners of nurses is its threat to their practice. However, with the current environment of COVID-19 ‘frontline’ situations, increasing infections of patients with SARS COV2, limited personal protective equipment, and the fastidious nature of maintaining social distancing and mask-wearing, it may be best to view healthcare robots as significant partners to facilitate safety, and ease the demands of nursing care activities in order to safeguard human lives while enhancing human well-being. Educating healthcare practitioners about healthcare robot programming and assurance of its safe and secure use can advance robot appreciation as partners in healthcare. These goals, challenges, and recommendations can provide Indonesian nurses some pathways-to-readiness towards a partnership involving healthcare robots, particularly during this COVID-19 pandemic, and in the future.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is spreading rapidly almost all over the world and has an effect on all aspects, especially in health services. Nursing is the profession with the highest interaction time with COVID-19 patients and is the profession that reports the most psychological impacts due to the pandemic. Changes in treatment procedures, working in areas of risk of infection and the unpredictability of this pandemic have become a source of stress for nurses. Nurses are required to be able to manage the stress they feel in maintaining mental health and optimizing services. This study is part of a qualitative method that explores experiences related to nurses' stress management strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research participants were 9 people, namely nurses who worked in the COVID-19 treatment room and were selected based on the purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted at 3 hospitals in Pekanbaru and started at the end of June 2021 until early August 2021. Data collection was carried out by interviewing techniques and data analysis techniques using Collaizy analysis. The results of this study indicate that doing activities that you like, telling stories with others, taking vitamins, and taking time to rest are strategies that are used to manage perceived stress. Nurses are able to perform good stress management in an effort to maintain mental health during the pandemic. Cooperation from various parties is needed to achieve success in dealing with the pandemic.
