Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain a early-harvest rice mutant maturity, ideal height, number of tillers, and ideal height. The method was used in this study is the method of pedigree. Planting M2 was the first stage of selection to be carried out next by pedigree. Prospective mutants in M2 generation of irradiated cultivars of sijunjuang consist of; a) 2 genotypes of very mature candidate mutants (104 hss), b) 152 genotypes of maturing mutant candidates (110 hss - 120 hss), c) 18 genotypes of prospective mutants mature and have ideal high criteria, and d) 2 genotypes of mating candidates that are mature and have the ideal total number of tillers; e) 7 genotypes of prospective mutants with weight of dry harvest grain above average yield per hectare from the description of kutivar Sijunjuang ie 5.5 Tons/Ha. Mutant candidates in M2 generation resulting from irradiation Kuriak Kusuik consist of; a) 2 genotypes of very early genetic candidates (104 hss), b) 76 genotypes of mature candidates (113 hss -124 hss), c) 323 genotypes of moderate mutant candidates (126 hss -147 hss), d ) 123 genotypes of prospective mutants very mature and have ideal high criteria and e) 4 genotypes of prospective mutants mature with high and total number of ideal tillers, f) as many as 18 genotypes of prospective mutants who have weight of dry grain harvest above the average production per hectare of Kuriak Kusuik cultivar description and g) has one genotype of prospective mutants that have a early-harvest age and have an ideal agronomic character.

Abstract

One of the factors hindering the development of upland rice cultivation among annual crops is the limited number of shade-tolerant upland rice varieties. It is very important to assemble shade-tolerant upland rice varieties with high yields. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of shade on the growth and productivity of five genotypes of upland rice. This research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, the Islamic University of North Sumatra with an altitude of 25 m above sea level, from June to December 2020. The research design was split-plot and repeated three times. The main plot of shade treatment consisted of two levels, namely no shade (0%) and shade treatment (70%). The sub-plots were five genotypes of upland rice in Deli Serdang and two shade-tolerant varieties. Shade treatment affected the growth and productivity of five genotypes of upland rice in Deli Serdang District (Sialus, Arias, Ramos Merah, Silayur, and Sirabut) and two shade-tolerant varieties (Rindang 1 and 2). Two genotypes of upland rice were obtained, namely Silayur and Sirabut which were more shade tolerant, based on flowering age, harvest age, and grain weight per clump. When compared with Rindang 1 and 2 varieties, the two genotypes of upland rice were the same or more tolerant.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see and determine the effect of application of cow rumen compost on the growth of oil palm seedlings (Elaies gueneensis Jacq.) in main nursery. This research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Agroecotechnology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University from September 2018 to February 2019. This research was conducted whit 5 treatments and 5 replications, each of which consisted of 2 units of plant experiments. Doses of compost were 0 g, 250 g, 500 g, 750 g and 1000 g. The parameters observed were plant height, leaf length, leaf width, number of leaves, and stem diameter. The data obtained were analyzed by variance with a level of 5% if significantly different followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The application of 1000 g compost gave the best result on plant height, leaf length, leaf width, leaf number, and hump diameter.

Abstract

The reseach was conducted in the Kebun Pembibitan Kelompok Tani Budidaya, Sungai Dareh, Dharmasraya fromJuly to October 2016. The aim of the study was to investigate the interaction between grafting and concentration ofbenzylaminopurine, to measure the growth of grafts treated with benzylaminopurine and to determine the bestconcentration of benzylaminopurine. A completely randomized factorial design was used. The first factor was thetype of bud (green or brown) and the second factor was benzylaminopurine concentration (0, 5, 10, 15, and 20ppm). The best concentration of benzylaminopurine for green buds was 10 ppm whereas the best concetration was20 ppm for brown buds.

Abstract

The aim of this research were to find the best doses of rice straw and tithonia compost base on growth and yield of wheat plant. Experimen had been conducted in Alahan Panjang, Solok Regency from April untuk July 2016. It used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 factor and 3 blocks. The firs factors were of rice straw compost with doses (0 ton/Ha, 5 ton/Ha, 10 ton/Ha and 20 ton/Ha) and second factor was were doses of tithonia compost (0 ton/Ha, 5 ton/Ha, 10 ton/Ha and 20 ton/Ha). Data were analyzed statistically by F test and when F calculated was greater than F table 5% continued with Tukey Test on the real level 5%. The result showed there was an interaction between rice straw and titonia compost to the leaf area indeks, net assimilation rate, crop growth rate, number of productive tillers, grain number, grain weight and grain yield. Rice straw compost with 10 ton/Ha dose gave best result on number of spikelet. Rice straw compost with dose 10 ton/Ha and titonia compost with dose 5 ton/Ha gave the best result on leaf area indeks, net assimilation rate, crop growth rate, number of productive tiller, grain number, grain weight and grain yield.

Abstract

Penelitian dengan judul seleksi toleransi padi lokal generasi M2 hasil iradiasi sinar gamma terhadap cekaman Fetelah dilaksanakan pada lahan Nagari Sialanggaung Kabupaten Dharmasraya. Pelaksanaannya dilakukan sejakbulan Agustus sampai Desember 2010. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menseleksi padi lokal generasi M2 yang toleranterhadap cekaman Fe.Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Pengamatan gejalaserangan keracunan Fe dianalisis berdasarkan anjuran Komisi Nasional Plasma Nutfah, (2003). Pengelompokanskor menjadi toleran atau peka sesuai dengan IRRI (1980) dalam Abifirin (1986) dimana tanaman dengan skor 0-4termasuk toleran dan skor 5-9 termasuk peka. Sedangkan untuk data tinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah anakan total(batang), panjang malai tanaman (cm) dan bobot 100 biji (g) akan dibandingkan dengan tanaman induknya(kontrol).Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa adanya pengaruh mutasi terhadap cekaman Fe tanaman padikultivar Sijunjung, Kuriak Kusuik dan Anak Daro. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari persentase tanaman yang toleranterhadap cekaman Fe lebih besar apabila dibandingkan dengan tanaman induknya (kontrol), sehingga tanamandapat diseleksi untuk dilanjutkan ke penanaman M3, sedangkan untuk kultivar Anak Daro tidak dapat dilanjutkan kepenanaman M3 karena pada saat memasuki masa generatif tanaman kultivar Anak Daro terserang hama werengyang menyebabkan tanaman mati.

Abstract

Aklimatisasi adalah faktor yang menentukkan keberhasilan pertumbuhan bibit hasil kultur jaringan.  Tujuan penelitian adalah mengevaluasi pertumbuhan 2 genotipe pisang ambon lokal Rejang Lebong hasil kultur jaringan. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan satu faktor yaitu faktor genotipe pisang ambon lokal Rejang Lebong, yaitu ambon kuning dan ambon hijau. Setiap percobaan terdiri dari 3 ulangan, sehingga ada 6 unit percobaan. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis varians pada taraf 5%. Uji lanjut yang digunakan untuk menguji nyata tidaknya perbedaan adalah BNT (beda nyata terkecil). Ambon kuning memberikan pertumbuhan yang terbaik pada peubah tinggi tanaman dan panjang daun. Rata rata tinggi bibit ambon kuning yaitu 19.74 cm sedangkan ambon hijau tinggi tanamannya 15.18 cm. Panjang daun ambon kuning 11.89 cm  dan ambon hijau 9.61 cm. Diharapkan bibit ambon kuning hasil kultur jaringan ini bisa dibudidayakan oleh petani Rejang Lebong.

Abstract

Indonesia has a fairly high genetic variation of local rice. Although biologically abundant, genetic resources continue to decrease due to a lack of attention and inadequate use of genetic resources. The introduction of early maturing superior varieties to rice production centres in various regions has resulted in genetic erosion of local varieties, so maintaining biodiversity to achieve national food security is an important thing to do. This study aimed to explore and identify local rice cultivars in Padang Pariaman District, West Sumatra. Exploration, characterization and collection assessment activities were conducted from February to November 2022. Data in the study were secondary data collected from relevant agencies, namely the Padang Pariaman District Agriculture and Food Security Service, the District Agricultural Extension Center, community leaders and farmers, while primary data collection used a survey method with random sample collection. Observations were made by directly identifying the characteristics of local rice plants in the field. The procedures followed were (1) identification of geospatial coordinate locations, (2) morphological characterization analysis of leaves, stems, grain and rice using the Bioversity International, IRRI, and WARDA 2007 guidebooks, and (3) statistical analysis of results. The characteristics considered include qualitative and quantitative characteristics processed using the Numerical Taxonomy System (NTSYS-pc) version 2.02 program. The exploration results obtained three (3) local rice genotypes of Padang Pariaman Regency, with 16 observed characters having similarity coefficients ranging from 0.21 (21%) to 0.31 (31%). Genotypes V1 and V2 owned the highest coefficient value at 0.31 (31%), and the lowest coefficient value was 0.21 (21%) for genotype V3. Similarity analysis of the three local rice genotypes in Padang Pariaman District showed the degree of dissimilarity between the genotypes. Keywords: Exploration, Morphological Characterization, Local Rice.  INTISARIIndonesia mempunyai variasi genetik padi lokal yang cukup tinggi. Meskipun melimpah secara hayati, namun sumber daya genetik terus mengalami penurunan akibat kurangnya perhatian dan pemanfaatan sumber daya genetik yang tidak memadai. Introduksi varietas unggul berumur genjah ke sentra produksi padi di berbagai daerah telah mengakibatkan terkikisnya genetik varietas lokal, sehingga menjaga keanekaragaman hayati untuk mencapai ketahanan pangan nasional merupakan hal yang penting untuk dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan mengidentifikasi budidaya padi lokal di Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, Sumatera Barat. Kegiatan pengkajian eksplorasi, karakterisasi dan pengumpulan dilakukan pada bulan Februari sampai dengan November 2022. Data dalam penelitian merupakan data sekunder yang dikumpulkan dari instansi terkait yaitu Dinas Pertanian dan Ketahanan Pangan Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian Kabupaten, tokoh masyarakat dan petani, sedangkan pengumpulan data primer menggunakan metode survei dengan pengumpulan sampel secara acak. Observasi dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi secara langsung ciri-ciri tanaman padi lokal di lapangan. Prosedur yang dilakukan adalah (1) identifikasi lokasi koordinat geospasial, (2) analisis karakterisasi morfologi daun, batang, gabah dan padi menggunakan buku panduan Bioversity International, IRRI, dan WARDA 2007, dan (3) analisis statistik hasil. Karakteristik yang dipertimbangkan meliputi karakteristik kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang diolah menggunakan program Numerical Taxonomy System (NTSYS-pc) versi 2.02. Hasil eksplorasi diperoleh 3 (tiga) genotipe padi lokal Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, dengan 16 karakter yang diamati mempunyai koefisien kemiripan berkisar antara 0,21 (21%) hingga 0,31 (31%). Genotipe V1 dan V2 memiliki nilai koefisien tertinggi sebesar 0,31 (31%), dan nilai koefisien terendah sebesar 0,21 (21%) pada genotipe V3. Abstract

Mesenchymal stem cell is a technology that is immunodulatory which is able to repair tissue damage in the skin and overcome various inflammatory diseases. One of the cytokines that can repair tissue damage and overcome inflammation is interleukin-10. The purpose of this research to to systematically review the literature on science trends, knowledge and publication, especially the identification of interleukin-10 in mesenchymal stem cells using bibliometric analysis. A total of one hundread journals obtained from the Google Scholar database for 2016 – 2023 were used in this study. To find out the overall trend on this research topic, the keywords (Mesenchymal stem cell, interleukin-10 and inflammation) that often appear in journal publication are then visualized and mapped using application Vosviewer software. The results showed that there was an increase in research of identification interleukin-10 in Mesenchymal stem cells in various journals as well as research on the characterization and utilization of Mesenchymal stem cells in skin regeneration.

Abstract

As a genetic resource, local rice can provide insight into the inheritance of favorable traits. Local rice varieties have naturally been tested for resistance to pests and diseases, high yields, good rice quality (including class 1 quality), and a taste that people like, but also have some disadvantages, such as long life and high plant height that easily collapses. For this reason, the characteristics of local rice varieties that have these advantages are improved using the gamma-ray induced mutation technique. Before planting in the field, it is necessary to test the vigor and viability of local rice genotypes (Oryza sativa L.) Padang Pariaman seeds first. In this study, researchers used three different rice varieties, namely: "Madang Pulau", "Putiah Papanai", and "Banang Kuniang" and gamma irradiation, with radiation doses of 0, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 Gy. Based on the results of the study, the local rice seed varieties of Padang Pariaman Regency and the dose of gamma irradiation had a significant effect on maximum germination, while germination speed, germination capacity, vigor index, and growth uniformity were significantly affected by the dose of gamma irradiation. Gamma irradiation with doses of 400-600 Gy resulted in a more significant decrease in seed vigor and viability compared to irradiation with doses of 100-300 Gy.
