Abstract

The rapid development of technology in the Society 5.0 era has increased the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education, raising concerns about its impact on students’ computational thinking skills and digital literacy. This study aims to examine the influence and relationship between the intensity of AI usage and computational thinking as well as digital literacy among students of Islamic Elementary Teacher Education (PGMI) at Institut Attanwir Bojonegoro. A quantitative correlational design was employed involving 114 undergraduate PGMI students from various semesters. Data were collected through validated and reliable questionnaires measuring AI usage intensity, computational thinking skills, and digital literacy. Data analysis was conducted using Spearman’s rank correlation and simple linear regression. The results indicate that AI usage intensity has a positive and significant relationship with computational thinking skills, although the correlation is weak (r = 0.220) with a contribution of 3.6%. Conversely, AI usage intensity does not show a significant relationship or effect on students’ digital literacy. These findings suggest that while AI can support the development of computational thinking when used appropriately, it does not automatically enhance digital literacy. Therefore, pedagogical integration, critical engagement, and ethical guidance are essential to optimize the role of AI in developing students’ 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

Higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) are crucial in science education, yet students often struggle to master them, particularly in complex topics such as vibrations and waves. This study aimed to evaluate the HOTS performance of 165 eighth-grade students from five schools in Purbolinggo Sub-district, East Lampung, using a two-tier multiple-choice test analyzed through the Rasch Measurement Model. The test consisted of 12 items, each with a content question and a reasoning tier, adapted from Treagust (1988) and validated through expert judgment. Rasch analysis indicated that most students demonstrated low HOTS ability, especially in the creating domain (C6), involving generating novel ideas or solutions. In contrast, analyzing (C4) and evaluating (C5) were relatively easier but still reflected limited mastery. The highest difficulty appeared in questions requiring divergent thinking and complex synthesis. Item fit statistics showed good instrument validity (person reliability = 0.93; item reliability = 0.83). These findings highlight the importance of implementing learning strategies that foster creativity and synthesis, such as problem-based learning or project-based approaches. The study was limited to one geographic area, which may restrict generalizability. Future research should explore broader contexts and incorporate qualitative data to deepen understanding of HOTS development in science.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of gamification based digital learning media on interest in learning evolution in increasing students' learning motivation. This study uses a quantitative quasi-experimental approach with a nonequivalent control group design. This study consists of three types of variables, gamification based digital learning media, interest in learning evolution, student characteristics. The study population and sample students in class XI IPA SMA Muhammadiyah 01  Surakarta. The results of the study showed a significant increase in learning interest in the experimental group compared to the control group. After being given certain treatments, the experimental group showed a much higher average posttest score, which was 85.13, while the control group only reached 71.45. This indicates that the treatment given to the experimental group succeeded in significantly increasing their learning interest. All indicators used to measure learning interest, such as attention, relevance, self-confidence, and satisfaction, also showed a higher increase in the experimental group. Research proves that digital technology and gamification mechanisms can effectively overcome learning challenges in abstract materials such as evolution. This makes a substantive contribution to building bridges between gamification theory, educational technology, and biology learning practices.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of ethical philosophy learning and the assessment pattern for student learning outcomes at the KH. Ahmad Sanusi Sukabumi Institute (INKHAS). Ethical philosophy is understood as a critical study of good and bad values in human actions, which not only accepts moral teachings normatively, but examines them rationally and in depth. In the learning process, this course applies discussion and dialogue methods as the main approach to encourage students to think critically, express opinions argumentatively, and build mutual respect. The lecturer acts as a facilitator who directs the discussion, instills academic ethics, and maintains a scientific learning flow. The assessment pattern does not focus on memorizing theories, but rather on students' analytical abilities as measured through discussion participation, individual assignments, and group assignments. The results of the study indicate that this method is effective in developing students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, and moral awareness, although obstacles such as lack of motivation in some students due to the abstract nature of the material are still found. Overall, ethical philosophy learning at INKHAS plays an important role in shaping ethical character, reflective thinking, and responsible attitudes in academic and social life.

Abstract

This study presents the design, development, and performance evaluation of a 3 MW geothermal pilot power plant in Kamojang, Indonesia, developed by retrofitting a 2 MW backpressure turbine into a six-stage condensing turbine. With a 63.81% local content, the plant serves as one of Indonesia’s first demonstrations of small-scale condensing turbine technology. Multi-phase testing yielded a maximum net output of 2.2 MW, below the design target due to condenser vacuum inefficiencies, strainer pressure losses, and reduced turbine isentropic efficiency. Subsequent condenser and strainer modifications improved vacuum stability, reduced pressure drops, and enhanced specific steam consumption (SSC) and overall performance. Exergy analysis identified the condenser (16.1%) and turbine (9.5%) as the primary sources of exergy destruction, resulting in an overall exergy efficiency of 73.6%, higher than typical small-scale geothermal benchmarks. While operational performance improved significantly, sustaining long-term vacuum stability and optimizing turbine operation under variable steam conditions remain key challenges. Future work should focus on automated vacuum control, real-time monitoring, and advanced thermodynamic-electrical optimization to enhance system reliability. This study provides practical insights into turbine retrofitting, condenser stabilization, and integrated exergy evaluation, contributing to the advancement and localization of small-scale geothermal power technology in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia aspires to became a more dignified nation by 2045, known as “Indonesia Emas”. This is rooted in Islamic Education, which is crucial for building the character of the current generation, particularly at MI Darul Huda Gedungarum. The current moral decadence and the lack of Islamic education have eroded the character of the current generation. This study aims to describe how building the character of golden generation 2045 trough Islamic education at the MI Darul Huda Gedongarum who have strong characters, noble morals, and are competitive. The background of moral decadence in today's era and also the lack of Islamic education obtained has eroded the character of the current generation of the nation. The method used is a descriptive qualitative research method. Data were obtained from observations, interview optimally with the teachers, principal, books, articles, academic journals, and appropriate research results. The results of the study show that Islamic education very influential in shaping the character of golden generation of 2045 trought the religious values taught. However, the development of technology today is a challenge in it self because it greatly affects the character of the current generation. The current generation, which is expected to become the golden generation of 2045, must of course have good character. Therefore, it is very necessary todevelop the quality of Islamic education to help strengthen the character of the current generation.
