Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of financial literacy, gender, and educational background on the materialism of Generation Z Indonesians in 2022. Data were gathered by surveying 592 respondents and analysed with the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method, resulting in three main findings. First, the influence of financial literacy is proven to reduce materialism significantly. Second, there is no difference between males and females in the materialism they believe in. Third, there is an influence of educational background on materialism. This study also finds that students with an economic and business education background are more materialistic than non-economic and business students. Furthermore, the findings of this study indicate that knowledge of financial concepts, products, and services is not enough to reduce materialism. Therefore, interventions are needed to encourage the financial attitude or individual perception of long-term finances, which is essential for achieving financial resilience and financial well-being, especially for Generation Z Indonesians.

Abstract

Aking rice is dried leftover rice that has been cooked and has not been consumed, so it will become stale rice then dried and considered by some people as household food waste. Thus far, aking rice has been used more for animal feed rather than being processed into human’s food. At the same time, the prevalence of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) sufferers in developing countries including Indonesia is increasing. This review article will describe the opportunities for using aking rice to be processed into alternative food for people with type 2 diabetes. The writing of this article uses the Secondary Data Analysis (SDA) approach and literatur review in line with PRISMA. From the results of the review article, it is known that aking rice not only have a low glycemic index value, but also contains resistant starch (starch resistant) which can be beneficial for people with type 2 diabetes. The utilization of aking rice can through processed into aking rice flour. This flour can applied to the processing of various food products for people with diabetes type 2.

Abstract

PT. PQRS is an agro-industrial company that plays a role in processing fresh tea leaves into various ready-to-consume tea products. Because there is no definite time standard for the production process, the corporation cannot accurately estimate the number of workers needed based on the workload at each work station, especially the packaging station. It is hoped that by combining the work sample approach with conventional time measurement methods, the author will assist businesses in identifying the ideal number of workers. The average time for packaging tea during 60 observations was 219.94 seconds, and the average working time was 480 minutes or 28,800 seconds or 8 hours a day, according to calculations that had been carried out. The number of workers in the tea packaging section is based on labor requirements calculated using a work sampling approach. According to the calculation of labor requirements using the work sampling method, the number of employees in the tea packaging section, which previously required 21 employees, has now become 18 employees at the PT.PQRS tea packaging station

Abstract

The bagging and warehousing process is a critical operational activity in the Bagging & Warehousing Department of PT ABC. This process is not exempt from occupational health and safety issues. The causes are divided into two categories: unsafe conditions, such as working at heights, and unsafe acts, such as improper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This study aims to identify high-priority risks, determine root causes, and design mitigation strategies to minimize risks in Bagging and Warehousing IV at PT ABC. The methods used include the House of Risk to identify risks and prioritize mitigations and Fault Tree Analysis to determine the root causes of risks. The findings reveal 10 potential risk events triggered by 8 main sources, with four primary risks: risk agent A8 (ARP 1616), A7 (ARP 1068), A1 (ARP 639), and A4 (ARP 552). The study recommends improving PPE usage behavior and ensuring ergonomic working conditions for bagging and warehousing workers.

Abstract

Raw materials are very important in the production process. If raw materials are lacking, production can be delayed. On the other hand, if there is too much, the company will incur additional costs to store it. This research aims to find out how much sand (the main raw material in making concrete) should be ordered each time so that there is no shortage of raw materials, but also not to waste money on costs. storage. There are two methods used to calculate the ideal order quantity: first, the EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) method and second, the Min-Max method. The results show that by using the EOQ method, the company can save costs of IDR 19,102,570 compared to the Min-Max method. So, the EOQ method is considered more suitable to be applied in this concrete company because it is more efficient in managing sand supplies.

Abstract

Background: Piper betel leaf extract has antibacterial activity against P.acnes because it contains tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids, and terpenoid compounds. Objective: The purpose of this study is to formulate piper betel leaf extract in the form  of essence that meets the requirements of physical quality and has antibacterial activity against P.acnes. Methods:  This study uses true experimental method  and well diffusion method for antibacterial test. The essence preparation was  made with 3 different extract concentrations (concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 20%), then a physical evaluation was carried out and then the formulation was tested for antibacterial activity against P.acnes. The data obtained were statistically analyzed ANOVA with a significance value of 0.05. Results: The results showed that  the essence preparation  had a yellowish-brown to dark brown color, liquid form and characteristic smell of betel leaves with a pH of 5.4-5.5, homogeneous preparation, viscosity 324-463, dispersion power 9.74 mm-11.62mm, and in antibacterial activity tests showed the ability to inhibit the growth of P.acnes bacteria  by having inhibitory power that was categorized as strong. Conclusion: The results of the physical evaluation and the results of the antibacterial activity test for essence preparations had a significant effect on variations in extract concentrations because the p-value was <0.05. Based on the evaluation results, all formulas met the specifications, and the most optimal was formula II

Abstract

This article explores the shifting landscape of international arbitration, traditionally valued for its efficiency. Today, increased costs and prolonged dispute resolution processes change this perception. The article introduces the Calderbank offer, a strategic instrument from common law that promotes early settlement. By integrating civil law’s adversarial approach and practice to settle with settlement offer in common law, this concept aligns with peace theory and could enhance efficiency in BANI Arbitration Center. This instrument allows arbitral tribunals to impose cost penalties on parties who reject settlement offers and subsequently fail to achieve a more favorable award. In this research, the authors employ a normative juridical research method, utilizing literature review as the primary approach. This research indicates that adopting the Calderbank offer may encourage parties to objectively consider the settlement offer, potentially leading to a win-win solution. BANI Arbitration Center may adopt this instrument, as BANI Rules has included provisions on tribunal discretion in cost allocation.
