Abstract

Since New Order1 regime, external debt has become one of the reliable capital sources in Indonesia. In 2017, the World Bank was incorporating Indonesia to the top ten middle-income country borrowers so it is necessary to analyze the effect of external debt ratio on economic growth. Using the debt Laffer curve theory, the authors determine the threshold of the external debt ratio. The method of analysis is quadratic regression. The research results indicate that there exists a non-linear relationship between the external debt ratio and economic growth in Indonesia. On the other hand, research results have found the threshold of external debt ratio in Indonesia is 48 per cent to Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The external debt ratio less than 48 per cent of GDP does not affect economic growth, but it will have a negative effect on economic growth when the ratio is more than 48 per cent of GDP. Keywords: external debt ratio, threshold, quadratic regression

Abstract

Exchange rate volatility occurred when exchange rate movement was wildly fluctuating which could depict uncertainty. Since Indonesia used an open economy, exchange rate fluctuation became important to be maintained due to crisis potential. This research was conducted to analyze the effect or impact of exchange rate volatility on the Indonesian economy in general and few related case using time series analysis. ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) and EGARCH (Exponential Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity) were used for measuring the volatility in the period between 1997-2021. Then, regressions were applied to analyze the impact of exchange rate volatility on few macroeconomic indicators. The result shows that exchange rate volatility yielded a significant negative effect on GDP Growth rate, export, and import. Logistic regression was used to analyze the factors that were affecting the crisis potential. The result showed only a negative GDP growth rate and high volatility that gave more risk which could lead to crisis. Therefore, it is important to keep exchange rate volatility stable.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of GDP per capita and energy consumption on greenhouse gas emissions and test the hypothesis of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) in Indonesia. This study uses two methods, namely Error Correction Mechanism (ECM) and Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) with bound testing approach. The results showed that GDP per capita had a positive effect on greenhouse gas emissions. Renewable energy consumption negatively affects greenhouse gas emissions, while non-renewable energy consumption negatively affects total greenhouse gas emissions, but positively influences CO2 emissions. In the long run, the EKC hypothesis applies in Indonesia.

Abstract

The constant increase in the number of internet users in Indonesia amid a sluggish economy caused by the Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) policy is a great opportunity for a digital-based economy. However, the unavailability of relevant macroeconomic statistical measurements inhibits the digital economy from being determined as a policy priority amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. This study offers an alternative measurement of the digital economy of Indonesia by establishing Digital Economy Index (DEI). This study discovers that digital economic activities in Indonesia have grown rapidly with an average growth of almost nine percent quarterly. On the other hand, this study also utilizes the established index to determine its effect on the economy using the Error Correction Model (ECM). The analysis reveals that DEI has not affected GDP in the short term, but it has significantly and positively in the long term. Therefore, the government can apply this digital economy index to describe the development of digital economic activities to support the digital economy as a priority for economic policy amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Abstract

The current Islamic psychotherapy model has developed a lot and effectively overcame various human problems. One type of study of Islamic psychotherapy is prophetic psychotherapy. This study aims to examine and analyze the concept of prophetic psychotherapy, which is a part of Islamic psychotherapy. Studies on prophetic psychotherapy are still restricted, so implementation in psychotherapy practice is not yet felt. Therefore, this research is essential to discuss the study of prophetic psychotherapy from various sources so that it can become a reference for developing the field of study of prophetic psychotherapy that many groups can utilize. This research collects multiple sources of literature that are relevant to search media from digital platforms. The collected data will be analyzed using the PRIMA flowchart and charting data to describe the concept and study of prophetic psychotherapy fully; more specifically, this study will discuss the study of prophetic psychotherapy as a method of Islamic helping relationships. The literature sampling technique used is a scoping review, namely categorizing relevant articles, making concept maps, and analyzing the review results. The study results show that Islamic psychology has a broad scope, not only in the context of psychotherapy but also in counseling. Prophetic counseling and psychotherapy have basic principles in applying interventions: recitations, tazkiyah, Salim, uswah Hashanah, and awareness. These basic principles can be used by individuals so that they can increase their faith, moral understanding, and psychological well-being, become a whole person, and submit to Allah SWT.

Abstract

Lately, Indonesia has been intensively developing its domestic economy. Industrial development began to be started, which attracted investors to invest. However, this massive economic development is causing an increase in CO2 emissions. This study intends to capture the effects of primary energy consumption per capita and economic performance represented by Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and International Trade Openness on CO2 emissions in Indonesia from 1990–2022, in the short-run and long-run, using Error Correction Mechanisms (ECMs) analysis. In the long-run, energy consumption and GDP significantly affect CO2 emissions in Indonesia. Meanwhile, in the short-run, only energy consumption and Error Correction Term (ECT) have a significant effect on CO2 emissions. Moreover, from the ECT coefficient, it is known that the speed of adjustment to return to equilibrium is 95.08% in the first year after the shock.

Abstract

The elevated divorce rate in Purwokerto has become a focal point for the local government due to its adverse repercussions. This research has identified five primary factors contributing to divorce, encompassing education, economic status, religion, access to healthcare, and environmental factors. This study employs empirical legal methods analyzed in accordance with Islamic family law theory. In-depth interviews were conducted with informants, as well as literature studies and data collection techniques. The results showed two critical findings. First, Islamic family law makes it clear that although divorce is legal, God views it negatively. Divorce is considered a final option when mediation becomes unfeasible. For a divorce to be valid, it must meet various criteria, such as guidelines for property division and child custody. Additionally, the Qur'an and Hadith discuss the five legitimate reasons for divorce. Secondly, the issue of divorce is regulated by normative positive law. However, no legal regulations are specifically available at the local government level to support efforts to reduce divorce rates based on the five leading causes. In particular, the five causes of divorce are also discussed based on relevant normative regulations and support from previous studies. The two sources of family law and Islamic law have different views regarding the legal requirements of divorce and its scope. However, in terms of similarities, both sources of family law and Islamic law support efforts to protect children and empower women victims of divorce. With national legal regulations, the government is responsible for providing effective rules to resolve the causes of high divorce rates legally.
