Abstract

Ischemic stroke is a cause of physical disability. These defects result in impaired biopsychosociospiritual adaptation in stroke patients. The inability to adapt will cause an anxiety reaction which triggers an increase in cortisol levels. The spiritual care model helps patients find meaning and purpose in life as well as an optimistic attitude so that they have better adaptability. This type of research is Quasy Experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study population was ischemic stroke patients in the Outpatient Department of Dr. Regional General Hospital. Moewardi Surakarta. The total sample consisted of 60 respondents, divided into 30 control group respondents and 30 intervention group respondents, who received a spiritual care model intervention in the outpatient room of Dr RSUD. Moewardi Surakarta. The research results show the influence of the Spiritual Care Model Using Callista Roy's Adaptation Theory Approach on Cortisol Levels in Ischemic Stroke Sufferers with a significance value of 0.043 < 0.05. The Spiritual care model influences the amygdala, which stimulates the hypothalamus through the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, thereby inhibiting the excretion of corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF). The pituitary gland then stimulates adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), which reduces cortisol. This research has a contribution that spiritual care interventions can improve the adaptability of biopsychosocial rehabilitation of stroke patients. This research has a contribution that spiritual care interventions can improve the ability to adapt biopsychosocial rehabilitation of stroke patients.

Abstract

Rawa Pening is a natural lake located in Semarang Regency that is facing issues with declining fish stock. Fish restocking activities in Rawa Pening are one of the solutions to maintain fish stock, fishermen's livelihoods, and food security. Fish restocking activities in Rawa Pening were carried out in July 2025 by the Undip community service team, involving the release of nilem and tawes fish, which are classified as local (non-invasive) species. An evaluation of local residents' perceptions of the fish restocking activities was conducted through interviews with 30 local residents who work as fishermen and fish processors. The evaluation results indicate that the fish restocking activity in Rawa Pening has received a positive response from the community service activity partners, with 100% of respondents agreeing with the restocking activity, primarily citing increased fishermen's income and maintaining fish populations in Rawa Pening as the main reasons. However, local residents' understanding and knowledge regarding the technical aspects of the restocking activity still need to be improved.

Abstract

Families of patients with violent behavior may experience mental health issues, such as stress due to the prolonged period of patient care and the heavy burden of caregiving, leading to feelings of uncertainty. Uncertainty about the disease becomes more pronounced as individuals confront it for extended period, making one’s life more unstable. The state of intolerance to uncertainty is closely related to the patient’s tendency for violent behavior which is difficult to predict. This study aims to investigate the effect of happy spiritual intervention on intolerance of uncertainty in families of patients with violent behavior. This study used a pre-posttest quasi-experimental design with a control group. Purposive sampling was utilized to recruit 50 respondents who were divided into two groups. The intervention group received six sessions of happy spiritual intervention using the family heart connection (FAMCY) application which included guidelines for implementing the therapy. The collected data were analyzed using a t-test to analyze the effect of the happy spiritual intervention on intolerance of uncertainty in the patient’s family. The results indicated a significant difference in intolerance of uncertainty between the two groups after the intervention was administered (p = 0.001). The intervention group exhibited a lower mean value (70.44) in comparison to the control group (80.44). The happy spiritual intervention has a significant effect on reducing intolerance of uncertainty in families dealing with violent behavior.

Abstract

Disturbed mental health among students had a very strong negative impact on physical health, interpersonal communication, and academic ability. Mental health issues in students were caused by pent-up emotions or traumatic events they had experienced. At that time, there was no specific intervention on campus aimed at preventing mental disorders among students. As a result, many emotional problems went unaddressed, increasing the risk of mental disorders among students. The purpose of this study was to improve students' emotional management through emotional regulation training. This study was a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pre-post-test approach. The respondents of this study were 100 nursing students. The instruments used included an emotional regulation questionnaire and an independent healthy achievement checklist that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data normality test was conducted using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, and data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test. The results of this study indicated a p value 0.05, demonstrating a significant difference in emotional regulation and emotional management before and after the emotional regulation training was administered. The conclusion of this study was that emotional regulation training was an appropriate intervention to address emotional problems, help improve emotional management skills, and prevent the risk of mental health disorders among students on campus.

Abstract

Introduction: Chronic diseases pose significant challenges for individuals, including reduced life expectancy, increased economic burden, and heightened risk of psychological distress such as depression and anxiety. The interplay between chronic illness and negative emotions is bidirectional, where emotional distress can exacerbate physical symptoms through inflammatory processes, while the illness itself can contribute to emotional dysregulation. Emotion dysregulation is a major factor influencing stress responses, self-management adherence, and overall well-being in individuals with chronic diseases. Given this, interventions aimed at improving emotion regulation are essential to help patients manage their condition more effectively.Aim: This study aims to examine the effect of emotion regulation training therapy on improving the emotion regulation ability of individuals with chronic diseases. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 50 participants were recruited using purposive sampling. The intervention consisted of four emotion regulation training sessions conducted over two weeks. Data were collected using the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) and analyzed using a paired t-test to determine the effect of the intervention on emotion regulation levels. Results: The findings revealed a significant improvement in emotion regulation ability after the intervention, with a mean difference of 7.980 ± 3.605 (p-value = 0.000) based on the paired t-test analysis. This indicates that the emotion regulation training had a substantial impact on enhancing participants' ability to manage their emotions. Conclusion: Emotion regulation training significantly improves emotion regulation levels in patients with chronic diseases. These findings highlight the importance of integrating psychological interventions into chronic disease management to enhance patients' emotional well-being and self-management abilities. Future studies should explore the long-term effects and sustainability of emotion regulation training in diverse patient populations.
